As a shooter Rage 2 is incredible.  It's everything around that core competency that brings the game down.  A lack of narrative, world building, and questionable design decisions in terms of progression leave the experience feeling flat.

Days Gone offers a dangerous and desolate world full of bad things and bad people. if you're willing to put up with some shortcomings the reward is one of the best open-world zombie apocalypse games to date.

Despite the questionable monetization, Devil May Cry V is an impressive game on the presentation front and a deep hack and slash with a ton of moves, combos, and weapons to master across three unique characters.

Anthem impresses on the presentation front and the javelin suits are a blast to play with, but a lack of diversity in the game and uninspired loot-driven progression system make it feel like Anthem could be a much better game than it currently is with a few updates.

Far Cry New Dawn takes players on an interesting journey to tell the story of what happened after the cliffhanger events of Far Cry 5. It mixes and matches franchise staples with new RPG mechanics and gameplay ideas to offer something familiar, but fresh.

Worth the wait, Below is a Rouge lite that doesn't hold your hand and asks you figure out the rules of this world on your own.  It makes for a fulfilling, albeit difficult journey.

Darksiders 3 is a much different game than its predecessors.  The ideas here aren't bad, so much as they are poorly executed.  There's still an interesting story and great presentation to experience, but you'll likely have to overlook the technical issues even if the core gameplay suits you.
