Halo Infinte is a new start for the series that promises good. The open world means new ways to play and together with the new grapple hook it will be a pleasure to explore the huge spaces. Unfortunately, there are still many empty areas, which tells us that the game may not be fully developed. However, gameplay is on top, now only the final pieces of the puzzle are missing that can make Halo Infinite the best of its kind.

The remake of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl gives us the perfect mix of old and new. A light-hearted story with dark tendencies spiced with all the improving elements from later games in the series. The variety is huge and at its best even addictive. However, we can't shake off that the character design itself feels a little out of place.

Mario Party Superstars is a return to the format that worked best for the series. It brings together some of the very best mini-games over the years on five of the series' most iconic game boards. But best of all – it opens up games no matter what control you may have at home. A must for game meetings in the company of good friends.

Forza Horizon 5 is a further development of everything we loved about part four. The races are crazier, the cars more and the exploration more dynamic than ever before. Some elements are on repeat, but still manage to feel fresh thanks to the change of scenery. An adrenaline-filled experience no one should miss, simply.

Mercury Steam picks up where Nintendo left last, and they do it in style. Metroid Dread offers the same old "Metroidvania" concept as before, but also adds brand new elements and features that surprise. The "just one more time" feeling is also constant and won't let us go until we really sort it all out.

More than a decade after Left 4 Dead 2, Turtle Rock is back to reclaim the throne. Back 4 Blood is not a revolution in itself, but rather an evolution of the developer's already excellent setup. Of course, we would have liked less of the small errors we find here and there, but that doesn't stop the game from being a really entertaining and addictive action party. With human co-players, that is.

"New" Fifa is a big step forward for both the series and Electronic Arts. Realism is more evident this time, while the ballplay on the pitch is becoming increasingly compelling. Sure, there are occasional misses in places, but mostly everything from animations to collisions feels entirely worthy of the epithet "next gen".

Arkane Studios Deathloop grabs you tightly with a mix of smart gameplay and mysterious storytelling. The open world presented in the time loop engages, while also inviting a lot of experimentation. If you get past the information bomb that is the first half hour of the game, you can look forward to a unique shooter with great freedom of choice and variety.

Resident Evil: Village takes the set-up from the seventh installment and mixes it together with the very best in the show's history. It enchants and shocks us at the same time, to the point that we become completely dependent on it. A contemporary classic that sets a new standard, just as Resident Evil 4 once did.

Monster Hunter Rise takes the very best from its predecessor and adds a couple of new fresh touches. Elements that give the hunt a whole new dimension and that make it really difficult for us to stop playing. A word of warning to beginners only – this isn't a game you learn in an afternoon.

There are few titles that can give four players in the same room the huge rush of Super Mario 3D World. The improvements in the Switch version are few, but appreciated. In addition, these changes the game to such an extent that even veterans should play it. The extra game Bowser's Fury is the icing on the cake and gives you a playful open world sandbox where proven moments meet new elements. The result is simply a complete package of pure platform entertainment.

A more emotive and engaging title is hard to find.

Demon's Souls is the perfect example of how new hardware can take an existing game to the next level. The estic is at its peak and the horsepower of the Playstation 5 makes the world more engaging. But above all, the super-fast charging times help balance an already ultra-difficult combat system.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure scraps creation mode from the main series to focus wholeheartedly on platform hopping. Some courses such as the rhythm-based are brilliant, but despite the improved control, the vast majority are too light and slow for the experienced player. And in addition to the Dual Sense features, there are also no real "next gen" details that stand out.

With its mere ten hours, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, however, is an easy-to-finish story. The story never reaches the depth of the original and the side missions are fewer this time. In addition, the really impressive boss fights are conspicuous by their absence, even though Miles has an even greater range of skills at his disposal.

Ghost of Tsushima is Sucker Punch Production's most ambitious game yet and it's something that permeates the whole adventure. It's a real samurai epic that balances well between action-packed segments and story-driven adventure. An adventure where we ourselves get to choose the style of play at our own pleasure and that always offers more to explore when we think we've seen it all.

The Last of Us Part 2 is more than just an action game with narrative elements. It's a long, tumultuous story that keeps us amazed. A journey that shows on the most unpleasant aspects of humanity, but which nevertheless needs to be exposed. That's why The Last of Us Part 2 is the most important game of the year.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is all we expected and a little more. The premise is the same as in 1997, but there is still plenty of new material for those who want to explore more of the metropolis of Midgar and its inhabitants. Many elements are also more contemporary, such as combat systems and storylines, which makes the return visit extra pleasant.

But that's why we're also hesitant to recommend Dreams to exactly everyone. The novelty's pleasure settles quickly for those who do not have time to mecca with the dream project full time. After a few days, we've seen all the Super Mario clones available. And then we can see that exactly everyone is in production. The "Beta feeling" permeates most of what is uploaded. Although creators have mastered the tools much better than at the early access release.

A journey that affects the entire emotional spectrum and that makes us reflect far beyond the final texts. But above all, an experience that once again confirms Hideo Kojima's position as one of the foremost and most multifaceted artists in this industry.
