9 / 10.0 - Disco Elysium
Dec 24, 2019

Overall , while paying respects to gaming’s founding fathers in familiar yet polished gameplay, Disco Elysium paves its own path. While the controls sometimes feel lacking, it is the narrative heart and aesthetics that truly shine to an exemplary level.

9 / 10.0 - Yakuza 0
Mar 9, 2020

Full disclosure, I’ve never played a Yakuza game before this one, however I was intrigued by the unique yet complex game series. So after playing for 50 hours, I can say that Yakuza 0 on Xbox One and Windows 10 is amazing.

Journey To The Savage Planet may not be the most unique title, but it is a delightful space themed romp. As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of this genre of media, it serves as one of the better examples of its field.

Overall, Microsoft Flight Simulator is a very deep simulation. While the plane variety lacks many foreign, military and alternative forms of flight (helicopters, hot air, etc), the content available at launch is enough to keep you busy.

If you are a fan of the series, this is well worth the 20 dollars, and it’s a fun experience even for a first timer. Whether you want a well polished romantic visual novel or a unique twist on a classic match three format, you’ll find something here. Just be aware of the more mature content.

Hot Wheels Unleashed feels great and looks solid. It might not have a consistent performance across platforms, but the pure adrenaline filled racing is fun all around. With plenty of cars and creative tracks, Hot Wheels fans will likely enjoy what Unleashed has to offer. I look forward to seeing how the game adapts and evolves in future seasons, in addition to challenging people to races.

8.5 / 10.0 - Humankind
Nov 1, 2021

If you’re looking for a more complex and unique experience, look no further. While the basics are familiar, the depths to which the game can reach are surprising. No two playthroughs will ever be similar due to the countless variations that can change, with both dlc and modding support on the way to further it. You can put a lot into Humankind and find that it still has a lot to offer.

8 / 10.0 - Before We Leave
Jun 1, 2020

While lacking depth compared to larger, more mainstream strategy titles, Before We Leave is a fun entry in the genre. In its current state, it is still a good respite between grueling campaigns for the strategy addict.

Overall, Observer: System Redux is a fantastic next gen upgrade. While the original was already a great title, this is easily the definitive edition. Few titles accurately capture the experience of a daunting mystery like this one. If you’re looking for a great cyberpunk thriller, this one should definitely be on your radar.

While its tone and story may feel dated at times, each expansion improves on a solid foundation of great gameplay, and Murder On Eridanos is no exception.

If you want to recapture the feeling of old timey adventure movies, Curious Expedition 2 is a great way to do it. While it can be a lot for a first timer, the experience is rewarding run after run. During my first eight hours with the game, I completed five runs, and barely scratched the surface of things to do.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Wild at Heart
Jun 10, 2021

Though I’m still not a puzzle enthusiast, my time with The Wild at Heart gave me an appreciation for the craft. The level of polish and shine is self evident. Despite at times borrowing a bit too hard from its thematic predecessors, The Wild at Heart demonstrates that a lot of personality and love went into this game.

Overall, the world of The Coma 2 deserves a first hand expereince to truly engross oneself in it’s story. Unfortunately, the gameplay loop of The Coma 2 can sometimes feel a little repetitive, as many segments become a waiting game versus the Dark Song creature. Thankfully, the atmosphere never falters despite some weaker aspects.

Personally, The Outer Worlds is not really my cup of tea. However, Peril On Gorgon proves that Obsidian is still capable of putting out capable expansions. While it doesn’t stack up to expansions by larger studios, it’s a great effort by Obsidian. If you’re a fan of the game, this will be essential to continue your experience.
