6 / 10.0 - Shenmue III
Nov 29, 2019

Shenmue III is the Benjamin Button of video games, except it won’t get any younger as the time goes by. Offers some interesting quirks, but overall it was release 20 years too late.

6.5 / 10.0 - Growing Up
Nov 2, 2021

Growing Up allowed me to go back to those times for a moment, so although as a reviewer I consider it to be only a decent title, as a player for these few hours I had a great time with it.

6.5 / 10.0 - RiMS Racing
Sep 9, 2021

I tried a couple of motorbike video games but RIMS Racing is the first one that made me enjoy the advanced driving physics and consider trying more of this type of games in the future. That being said, RIMS Racing is not a perfect game by far, suffering mainly from the lack of content and some tedious elements, for instance mandatory QTEs during bike repairs, which can make the player feel really tired after just a couple of races. Fun game, but in moderation.

The quickest way to summarize Shadows of New York is to say that it is a castrated version of VoTM: Coteries of New York, missing most of its mechanics and quirks. It really is baffling to me as all of the original’s mechanics would make a perfect sense in context of a detective story, allowing the players to fully emerge in VoTM world. We we’ve got, however, is just a shadow of the original. A visually and audibly fantastic one with an okay story, but still it is not what I hoped to get.

6.5 / 10.0 - Iron Man VR
Jul 13, 2020

Graphically Marvel’s Iron Man VR often disappoints, and the mission designs sometimes seems to be taken straight from the infamous Superman 64’s leftovers. Still, however, aerial combat in this game is so much fun that I quickly disregarded all of that and started humming the riff of Black Sabbath’s ‘Iron Man’ instead.

In Far Cry 6: Pagan – Control, at the end of the day, I had a really good time and I feel absolutely satisfied with what I got.

Call of Duty in its vast history has had ups and downs, but no installment has disappointed me as much as Vanguard.

7 / 10.0 - Far Cry 6
Oct 7, 2021

The problem is that after seeing the end credits, I did not fantasize at all where the creators would take me in the next installment. On the contrary, I had great hope that this was the last dictator to trouble the world, and the moment had finally come when I would be able to lay down my arms once and for all.

An economic strategy with card game mechanics should not work, Spellcaster University proves otherwise. Sneaky Yak Studio created an adorable and simply fun game, which shows what would happen if Dumbledore had a problem with gambling. Bear in mind, however, that unless one activates any of the gameplay modifiers before starting the session, Spellcaster University lacks any challenge which may lead to it becoming repetitive during longer sessions.

Little Nigthmares 2 had a potential to a fantastic experience on par with such classics as Limbo or Inside. Although its world’s design is absolutely fantastic and action keeps you on your seat’s edge, the game lacks quite a bit in the gameplay department, especially when it comes to the camera perspective.

Gunfire Games decided to rework their pre-Remnant VR game to work without VR goggles and mark it as a Remnant’s prequel, giving us Chronos: Before the Ashes – quite a unique souls-like title. Dark Souls veterans will find it rather unappealing due to its low difficulty level and lack of playstyle variety. However, for the very same reason Chronos is a perfect game for those who always thought souls-likes might be fun but were driven away by their ‘only for hardcores’ label.

Aquanox: Deep Descent invites the players to enter one of the most fascinating postapocalyptic worlds in gaming history. Sure, Fallouts and Wastelands are fine, but Earth covered with water? That’s simply better! Sadly, the rest of the game is as good as the setting. Submarine combat is quite fun, but between the fights the player has to swim through same-looking underwater caves, performing repetitive tasks and interact with boring characters. Still, it is worth playing solely for the eerie atmosphere of the ocean.

I never played a nomadic strategy game. More than that, I never even heard of anything like this. As Far As The Eye really is a one-of-a-kind game requiring the player to carefully plan their path, remembering about creating food chains and not staying too long in the same spot unless they want to be flooded and killed in the process. It takes some time to grasp the mechanics, but after that it offers a lot of satisfaction.

Graphical glitches, empty open-world and tedious corridors full of annoying enemies. If you can get through all this, No Straight Roads will offer you an incredibly addictive gameplay mixing a slasher with a rhythm game. Great music, fantastic boss battles, and surprisingly deep plot. This is what you will remember about this game in the future.

7 / 10.0 - Stardust Odyssey
Dec 14, 2019

An ambitious game letting the players to experience the life of a space pirate and steal some goodies from trading convoys. It is full of fast-paced and chaotic combat which ultimately feels rewarding, if a bit too grindy sometimes.

It’s been quite a few years since the first installment of the series, but CI Games finally decided to stop trying making AAA titles and develop a good game instead. Ghost Warrior Contracts is like a phoenix rising from the ashes of Ghost Warrior 3.

7.5 / 10.0 - Cyberpunk 2077
Dec 21, 2020

CD Projekt RED did something incredible. They managed to create the game that you wholeheartedly wish to keep playing in spite of all the bugs, broken mechanics and bland gameplay. Cyberpunk 2077 was saved by its narration. Night City feels alive thanks to its breathtaking design, well-developed characters and multi-layered quests. Although it is not the messiah that we were promised, it still is a good game.

Without a doubt Tell Me Why tells one of the most mature stories in gaming. It touches on the topics of domestic violence and transgenderism in an incredibly tactful way, creating a world where no character is morally black or white. A fantastic story is, however, undermined by a painfully monotonous and repetitive gameplay. Nonetheless, it might improve in this regard over the course of the next two episodes.

If your childhood consisted mostly out of rewatching your favourite war movies and fantasizing about being a member of a tank crew – you will love Tank Mechanic Simulator. At least you will love it for some time as unfortunately due to the lack of variety in tasks, and the abundance of money received from said contracts, it quickly becomes painfully repetitive. Still, however, you can ride a Tiger tank in it!
