7.3 / 10.0 - Anthem
Mar 7, 2019

There's a good game somewhere in Anthem. Somewhere behind the loading screens, asking for meaningful endgame content. Hopefully in the next few months, when BioWare starts launching its post-launch content and quality of life fixes, the game will become what it's meant to be.

Skylanders: Trap Team is a cute game for kids with a fun story, interesting characters, and plenty of heroes and now traps, to keep parents running back and forth from the toy store.

7.8 / 10.0 - Mafia 3
Oct 18, 2016

If anything, I think the game is worth checking out for the story alone. It's unfortunate that the gameplay is so much of a slog that some players may not think the story is worth the trouble. However, if you have the time, the extra coin, and love mob stories, this tale has a satisfying end.

7.8 / 10.0 - Mad Max
Sep 9, 2015

While the gameplay is solid and Avalanche Studios did a great job digitally creating the Wasteland, Mad Max starts off slow in the story department and may turn off potential players. However, if you stick with it, you'll finally get the Mad Max you were expecting.

If you're a big fan of the first game, I'm sure you'll enjoy this one. However, if you never played the original, you might want to take a test drive first to see if you want to commit to it.

I commend Remedy for taking a chance on a different way of storytelling in Quantum Break. Although I didn't enjoy every aspect of the way it was done, I still had an gratifying experience and would look forward to the next installment.

8 / 10.0 - The Swapper

8 / 10.0 - Alien: Isolation
Oct 27, 2014

Alien: Isolation is an experience that takes you back to the vibe of the first film, where humans are powerless against the alien and must find a different way to win against it. For the die-hard Alien and survival horror fan, you won't disappointed. But if you're looking for the action of a first-person shooter, or even a stealth action game, you might be disappointed with the game's slow pacing.

8.5 / 10.0 - Far Cry 5
Mar 26, 2018

If you're a fan of the Far Cry series, Far Cry 5 is a definite must-have. The gameplay is familiar, but there are shiny new features that are a blast to play with. If you're new to Far Cry, Far Cry 5 is a solid introduction to the series, especially if you're into open world games and want the ability to give commands to a bear or cougar to attack your enemies.

8.5 / 10.0 - Far Cry Primal

While this is a different direction for the Far Cry series, Far Cry Primal is an excellent entry into the franchise. While it might not be the best introduction to the franchise, it's certainly one the fans of Far Cry should definitely check out and those interested in the series will find something incredibly unique, action-packed, and a lot of fun.

8.5 / 10.0 - Watch Dogs
May 27, 2014

Does Watch Dogs live up to the hype? It depends on how hyped up you were. For me, the game wasn't a disappointment at all. It's a fun, addictive game that will offer hours upon hours of playing time. The hacking aspect is the shining light of the game, and is done very well. With that said, I didn't feel like it was breaking much new ground in terms of gameplay or story. Watch Dogs is worth the investment, but don't expect something that reinvents the wheel.

Halo 5: Guardians is the second game in what looks to be a trilogy from 343 Industries and for the most part, the developer is doing a good job of handling the franchise with care. We'll be sticking around for the next Halo title from 343.

In the end, Valiant Hearts: The Great War was an enjoyable experience with a satisfying story. The game doesn't include the years when the United States joined World War I, but at the end of the game there's an opening to include that story for a possible sequel.
