6.8 / 10.0 - Sniper Elite III
Jul 9, 2014

Third time is the charm for Rebellion with Sniper Elite III. Unfortunately, the charm is too short-lived thanks to a short Campaign and limited multiplayer modes (DLC will hopefully correct that). Plus the glitches are hard to ignore.

9 / 10.0 - FIFA 15
Oct 28, 2014

There are some old bugs in the game that have yet to be fixed (you can still force a fullback into a corner too easily, the game freezes sometimes in the Career Mode pause menu) and there are a few things that keep the game from being perfect (no Brazilian league this year, lack of CONCACAF/CONMEBOL love), but, overall, this game is too great to pass up if you're a FIFA fan.

8 / 10.0 - Project Spark
Dec 19, 2014

After enough time with the game, it became clear that Project Spark is not so much a game as it is a game design/content-creation tool for Microsoft's Xbox One community, one for those patient enough to reap the rewards of approval and praise from the community. As such, it is definitely an acquired taste, but those who enjoy it will find a truly rewarding experience.

One popular view holds that EA's FIFA is for football fans while Konami's PES is for gamers. That still holds true with Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 but that's not necessarily an insult. PES is fun, challenging, and rewarding, which is what every sports game should strive to be.

PES 2016 lives up to the hype and is a wonderful tribute to 20 years of hard work from Konami and PES Productions.

9 / 10.0 - FIFA 16

Where last year's game sometimes felt like a non-stop shooting gallery with blazing ping-pong action across the entire field, this year's game more closely follows the pace of a typical real-life match. And that's a good thing.

Prison Architect isn't the easiest game to delve into, but it provides patient players with a deep, challenging, and entertaining experience.

Is Konami's PES17 better than what competitor Electronic Arts will offer with FIFA17? Maybe, maybe not. Regardless, PES17 is a solid title that is as entertaining as it is satisfying to play.

8 / 10.0 - FIFA 17
Oct 4, 2016

FIFA 17 is visually stunning and "The Journey" is a welcome, if imperfect, new mode to the series. The new title is recognizable as a FIFA title, as any long-time fan of the series can attest to, which can be just as negative as it is positive. It's a fun, solid title but one that already has us thinking about what needs to be improved for next year's installment.

Pro Evolution Soccer 18 is another viable competitor to EA's FIFA dominance, though the same familiar shortcomings continue to plague the franchise.

Everything about Robocraft: Infinity is simple to learn, admire, and use giving gamers the ability to jump right into the fun. There's enough in here to keep folks hooked for a while, especially for fans of UGC games. Unfortunately, there are only two battle modes. It's a robot game that emphasizes the robot and robot creation at the expense of the rest of the game.

Pro Evolution Soccer 19 is a fun one to play. Unfortunately, I'm already thinking of ways Konami can improve it for next year's version (I'll still be playing PES 19 though!).

EA has gone to great pains to incorporate their new license into the title and it shows from the game modes all the way up to the game's tagline. Champions Rise and so has this franchise to the occasion.
