1 / 10.0 - Spectrewoods
Jul 30, 2021

I would be able to ignore Spectrewoods‘ existence if this game was either a tech demo, a free title, or your run-of-the-mill Steam shovelware, but this is a PlayStation 4 title being sold for actual money. It’s a commercial product, and a truly terrible one at that.

Gekisou! Benza Race: Toilet Shooting Star is a truly baffling waste of time I would have clearly ignored if it was kept as a Japanese eShop exclusive, as it should have been. It wasn’t the case, however, as some mad mind decided to release it in the West with absolutely no translation or localization efforts. What we ended up getting as a result was a near criminal waste of thirteen dollars, where you can’t have fun with its premise, nor can you understand what the hell is happening onscreen. Fittingly enough, a game about toilets deserves to be thrown into one.

1.5 / 10.0 - Popeye
Nov 4, 2021

Popeye is… well, it’s something else. It’s a game. It doesn’t crash upon booting it up, and pressing buttons results in actions happening onscreen. That is the best praise I can give to this astonishing Switch exclusive. It makes me even wonder as to how the developers have managed to snag the licensing rights for the franchise to begin with.

Taishogun: The Rise of Emperor might actually be the best game ever developed by Gilson B. Pontes, but that’s far from being a badge of honor. It’s still a poorly crafted Dark Souls clone with abysmal controls and no fun to be had whatsoever. The questions of how the developer managed to get a devkit to make these games and whether Sony is even aware of these terrible titles being released for its consoles, still linger.

1.5 / 10.0 - Hed the Pig
Jan 17, 2021

As expected, Hed the Pig is terrible, absolutely abysmal, with terrible visuals, controls, and one of the most boring gameplay loops in recent memory. It’s the game that makes me wonder how easy it must be to get one of these Switch devkits. Why was this conceived, and most importantly, approved for commercial release, will remain as one of the biggest mysteries of the universe.

1.5 / 10.0 - Road Bustle
Sep 15, 2020

You’ll spend about fifteen minutes between downloading Road Bustle, getting all of its trophies, and uninstalling it. It actually took longer for me to write this review than it took me to 100% the freaking thing. Technically speaking, it’s not a completely broken game, as it does what it advertises, but it’s so pathetic and uninspiring.

2 / 10.0 - Easy Japanesey
Oct 19, 2023

If you’re looking for a way to learn Japanese in an interactive manner, even dealing with the annoying reminders from Duolingo is a better choice than paying actual money for a game like Easy Japanesey. It is an excruciatingly boring puzzle game if you already know Japanese. It is also a completely pointless waste of time if you don’t, given how it doesn’t teach you anything. I booted it up expecting very little, and I still managed to give up on it just a few minutes later feeling disappointed and angry.

For as much as I want to believe there were good intentions behind Bootlegger’s Racing Story, nothing about it works. It’s not fun, it crashes constantly, and it’s devoid of any kind of excitement. If you want to drive like crazy as a bootlegger, just play Mafia instead.

I don’t know how the hell Nintendo allowed for this game to be launched on their system (I do understand WB probably did not care about doing some quality check on their end, though). It is something that needs to be played for you to believe it even exists. Not only is this the worst Switch port of a AAA title out there, this might be the single most pathetic entry in Mortal Kombat history. Yes, even more than Advance or Special Forces. At least those games weren’t being advertised as equals to ports on more powerful machines.

3.5 / 10.0 - Greyhill Incident
Jul 25, 2023

This is one mess of a game, isn’t it? Greyhill Incident could have been considered a hilarious, “so-bad-it’s-good” experience due to its dumb premise and Wiseau-esque levels of voice acting, but it’s way too boring to be considered worthy of an ironic playthrough. Poor stealth mechanics, samey environments, and an emphasis on being an Amazon delivery boy for a bunch of tinfoil hat lunatics cozily sitting in front of your house make this slog of a game feel less like an unintentional gaming version of Plan 9 From Outer Space and more like an exercise in how long you can stomach it before turning your PS5 off.

3.5 / 10.0 - Albacete Warrior
Feb 7, 2023

As you can clearly see, I loathed playing Albacete Warrior. It’s not just because it was painfully unfunny. It was the fact it had NOTHING else to offer besides some of the dumbest jokes ever put into a video game, since the game completely failed elsewhere as well. Bland visuals, terrible cutscenes, bland music, awful sound effects, terrible level design, and controls that don’t work… all while forcing you to play as a character that made Duke Nukem feel and sound as classy as Leslie Freaking Nielsen.

3.5 / 10.0 - eFootball 2022
Oct 3, 2021

eFootball 2022 might be one of the most disastrous launches I have ever seen. I’ve seen magazine demo discs with more content than this “game”. There’s no reason to play it at the moment: its online matchmaking simply doesn’t work, its offline content is more sparse than an Atari 2600 game, and its gameplay is simply not as fluid as the one featured in its last-gen predecessors.

3.5 / 10.0 - Adios
Mar 17, 2021

That little cutscene nearing the end of the game and the surprisingly competent voice acting are basically the only minuscule silver linings in an otherwise patience endurance test. Adios is a story-driven game with a boring story and a lack of compelling characters. It’s full of minigames that are either broken or just too boring to play. It’s ugly to look at and its framerate is nauseating. Considering the fantastic premise, this should have been a lot better and this is what disappoints me the most.

3.5 / 10.0 - Handball 21
Nov 24, 2020

Handball 21 is not a good game in any sense of the word. Die-hard handball fans will probably be able to ignore this game’s myriad of issues and enjoy what’s basically the only available simulator in the market. Everyone else, be it a casual sports fan or someone who has never heard of handball before, will quickly become fed up with how lackluster this game’s presentation and gameplay are.

3.5 / 10.0 - Speed 3: Grand Prix
Nov 10, 2020

Is there any silver lining in here? Well, the soundtrack doesn’t fit at with the game’s overall vibe, but it isn’t terrible, and there are some unlockable vehicles in here. But that would mean playing the game for a longer period of time just to get something definitely not worth the hassle. Speed 3: Grand Prix is a disaster. It’s ugly, its controls feel unfinished, it lacks content, and most importantly of all, it’s just not fun.

3.5 / 10.0 - POSTAL Redux
Oct 16, 2020

Having a game like this on a Nintendo platform is enough to give Howard Lincoln and Tipper Gore a coronary, but don’t expect it to be an actually good game. It’s ugly, its gameplay is underwhelming, and its sound design makes me thankful for the invention of a mute button. It goes to show that Postal is only remembered for its controversy, not its quality, or lack thereof.

The premise had so much potential. Kwaidan: Azuma Manor Story is a survival horror game set in feudal Japan, full of yokai and oni to deal with. This could have been, nay, SHOULD have been great. However, it completely misses the mark due to its absolute mess of a gameplay loop. It tries to be old school Resident Evil, Onimusha, and a point-and-click adventure all at the same time.

It’s a masterpiece of incompetence, a game so devoid of redeeming qualities to the point that its ineptitude ends up being its greatest selling point. You can have a blast with this game, not by actually having fun with its mechanics or set pieces, but by laughing at how bad it is.

Finally, I do appreciate how the artists tried to promote their (bad, but funny) music with a video game. A terrible video game, granted, but that’s still somewhat commendable. Don’t get me wrong, Whiteboyz Wit Attitude: The Pursuit of Money is awful, but I still think you should give it a try. I’ve played worse games and had to pay for them.
