Unscored - Dragon's Dogma 2
Mar 20, 2024

It has taken 12 years to arrive, but the wait has been worth it. Capcom has made us enjoy like dwarfs traveling through the immense and vast world that Dragon's Dogma II offers us. A game that, it is true, can overwhelm anyone who wants to delve into all its ins and outs and things to discover thanks to everything it can offer, but which, without a doubt, will not leave anyone unmoved. Dragon's Dogma II offers us a very lively world in which I have been immersed in the most varied situations such as starting a fight against a cyclops in one area and during the heat of the battle it ends up moving to another. part where I have forced other bystander NPCs to enter the fight and lend their support, which has greatly facilitated the confrontation; or making certain decisions of dubious ethics but that, against all odds, end in a happy ending for everyone (especially for my pockets), or... And so I could continue with a multitude of anecdotal situations in a game in which it is seen that The details have been greatly cared for. On the other hand, I have to say that I was disappointed by the lack of a performance mode that has deprived me of the possibility of enjoying the experience at 60 FPS, which would have been amazing during the enormous number of hours of play that it has to do. offer. Because, let's be honest, Dragon's Dogma II invites you to get lost, making it almost impossible to stick to its main campaign: Secondary missions, errands, brothels/romances, epic confrontations, and a long etcetera are to blame and believe me when I tell you that they will not disappoint nobody.

Adapting a classic like Alone in the Dark to modern times has been a very tough gamble, improving a timeless classic and a precursor to what for many was the horror genre of the 90s is something very difficult, so we can't help but applaud trying. Unfortunately, we have to say that they have tried to innovate so much that the idea of what they should have really focused on, being alone in the dark, has been diluted. Far from being a bad game, it entertains, but it has completely lost its essence and does not give the real feeling of being a survival horror as its original was, but rather a simple action game. As if this were not enough, it needs a good polish, since we have experienced quite a few situations where we have been forced to restart the game because the character has gotten stuck between two elements of the scenario. Fortunately, the game allows recording at any time and this is easily corrected by loading the nearest checkpoint with all the objects taken up to the time of saving (and there are checkpoints every so often!). The game has a Deluxe edition that includes comments from the director, a 20s-style sepia filter and, most interestingly, the possibility of playing with the skins of the original 1992 characters! By the way, finishing the campaign with one character took us around 8 hours, so if we want to do it with both it will easily take us about 12 hours (the second round will be faster because we will already know what we have to do and where to go). And finally, mention that by completing some sets of collectibles in the second and third game you can unlock different endings or alternative scenes, a good incentive for the curious and that will further extend the duration of the title.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong offers us the possibility, for anyone who could not at the time, to enjoy one of the most anecdotal titles for the Game Boy Advance, but updated for the current generation; and for everyone who played it (including myself), a series of extras such as a couple of new and challenging worlds and the possibility of playing it in the company of a second player locally. A recommendable game if you like puzzles, although we must warn that it is not a very challenging installment because if we are a little crafty, in about 8 hours we will have managed to complete it 100%. Of course, once the first round is done, the difficulty curve becomes much more pronounced once the new plus game has started. An adventure with which to spend a pleasant time in idle moments thanks to the brevity of its levels and where it is always a satisfaction to finish a level.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy is what many fans have been waiting for since the remastering of the previous trilogy was launched in 2019 and the opportunity for non-Nintendo platform users to enjoy the other three titles in the saga that the game offered us. great developer Shu Takumi. The downside is that, unlike the remastering of Ghost Trick: Ghost Detective, another of its wonders that did arrive in Spanish, this time we have to settle for Shakespeare's language again, since Spanish has become to be left out of the equation. A real shame, since although Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice came out in English at the time for Nintendo Switch, Apollo Justice did enjoy a wonderful translation like the other three Nintendo DS titles. I also can't help but not mention the wonderful crossover of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, which would have been a magnificent finishing touch as an extra in this edition as a spin off. Despite everything, they are three very good games that are worth playing, and that, despite being in English, fortunately it is not particularly difficult English and quite accessible to any intermediate level speaker of the language. The HD facelift is quite noticeable in the first title, while in the other two it is not appreciated too much.

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown was an enormous challenge that Ubisoft Montpelier has managed to take on and master. Something as complicated as making a saga that hibernated while waiting for the right moment to wake up shine. Thus, we find a title that is far from the saga that became so popular on PlayStation 2, but returns to its origins with a game that is reminiscent of the original installment of everything, and in which exploration was its pillar. In this way, we find a very fun game that has everything: action, puzzles, platforms, exploration, etc... Where, thanks to a series of exquisitely interconnected maps, you are continually encouraged to explore with very satisfactory results for the player. An adventure that, although the entire focus falls on that triptych (adventures, exploration and platforming), relegates the narrative to something secondary, thus offering us a character that is comfortable to control and who responds really well to command, never leaving us sold or doing something. that we would not want to do. Sargon's adventure can take us, depending on how skilled we are, between 20 and 25 hours to finish. The game has also a Deluxe edition that includes an amulet that will warn us when a secret is nearby and a new appearance for Sargon.

Nov 19, 2023

Flashback 2 invites us to discover how the adventures of Conrad B. Hart and his journey to save humanity from an imminent alien invasion continued, ignoring Fade to Black, which was, until now, its second official part. It was difficult, but we can proudly say that Microids has done a good job bringing us the essence of that game that amazed us more than 30 years ago. An adventure that, at the launch date, has some bugs, some quite serious and others not so much, but despite this, it gives us great moments of fun that make this adventure a must-have to play for anyone who enjoyed it in their childhood. with the delivery of Megadrive/Super Nintendo and wants to enjoy the same style of game again, but with the renewed aspects of current technology. In short, a recommendable game, but one that you will enjoy more once its most serious bugs have been fixed. To all this, Flashback 2 can be finished in a modest 6-7 hours, it has no difficulty levels so the only incentive to replay it is if we want to get all the collectibles.

Unscored - Super Mario RPG
Nov 21, 2023

Super Mario RPG was a moment of reflection in the franchise and was the precursor of what we now know as the “Mario & Luigi” franchise, highly recommended games whose latest installments were the respective remakes of their first two DS adventures for the 3DS. If you have played the latter and you play Super Mario RPG, you will notice flashes and small details of this franchise in it. Super Mario RPG is a fun adventure to enjoy for all lovers of classic role-playing games, it is a very simple and accessible game for all audiences that will also make us enjoy and laugh with very good times of fun. In conclusion, an adventure that may well be simple and short; so if you are looking for great strategies, study of strengths, weaknesses and weak points as well as great challenges (basic components in an RPG), it may fall a bit short, but if on the other hand you are looking to have a good time with a game With large doses of fun and playable surprises, this is your game, since they are things that urge the player to continue advancing in the story and discover the secret behind the 7 shooting stars and the new enemy that has invaded the mushroom world during the 10-11 hours that the adventure lasts.

Nov 16, 2023

With The Last Faith we will find a very entertaining adventure that will make us suffer and enjoy in equal parts in a game that will be challenging but fair. The Last Faith amuses, we do not deny that, but it does not risk betting on several formulas already experienced in other games of the genre that convey a final sensation that we are playing a conglomerate of games already experienced where comparisons will be inevitable and that will make We let out on more than one occasion a "I've already experienced this" with a continuous déjà vu.

Nov 14, 2023

What can we say about the incombustible Let's Sing that we don't already know! Let's Sing 2024 offers us a good alternative to give as a gift and enjoy in the company of our loved ones during the sweet evenings that are to come, come on, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve and Epiphany. You just have to take a look at the list of songs to see if they convince you, and if not, you can always pay the subscription to the VIP club to enjoy the new songs that come out. I am not very in favor of this type of subscriptions, but I admit that paying for the month on a special occasion at a certain time such as a big party can be very fun, or if we are very sing-songs, pay for the annual pass. The decision (and your musical destiny) is in your hands!

Unscored - Sonic Superstars
Oct 19, 2023

With Sonic Superstars we will find a 100% Sonic game that will make us have a great time, since it has managed to reflect all those things that fans liked during the 90s or with the most recent Sonic Mania. A game that, although it may be very short, since in 2 hours we will have finished its main story, it can be substantially extended thanks to the surprises that are unlocked once the credits end and which we prefer not to talk about so as not to spoil the experience, although we will say that they give the title a certain replayability. A game that despite being able to play its story mode in local cooperative with up to 4 simultaneous players, is not fully enjoyed because it is not very brilliantly executed, dragging the same errors that it had since Sonic 2 in which the camera always left lagging behind some player. It also has an insipid competitive mode that, without pain or glory, will be relegated to oblivion after 3-4 games. In short, an adventure that every fan of classic Sonic (or as I call it, "chubby" Sonic) should not miss.

Nintendo has done it again, it has managed to innovate itself and bring us Super Mario Wonder, a Super Mario that can boast of being among the first in its series, even at the level of the legendary Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3. Super Mario Wonder is a title that every fan of Nintendo or the mustachioed plumber should have in their game library, an adventure that will not leave anyone indifferent and that overflows with originality, charm and, above all, a lot of fun, which we can enjoy alone, lightly accompanied. thanks to its online mode or in company with its local multiplayer mode for up to 4 players, with the most charismatic characters (and immortal for the little ones in the house or the inexperienced). If you want to laugh, have fun and enjoy a game that never gets boring, this Super Mario Wonder is without a doubt for you, a game in which its creative team can be said to have reached its peak and to enjoy from start to finish for a long time. the 9 hours that its “casual speedrun” lasts or almost 19 hours if we want to do it at 100%.

Unscored - Kona II: Brume
Oct 18, 2023

Kona II: Brume offers us a mystery, survival and puzzle-solving game where action is a mechanic that gives way to exploration and history, which progress as we solve certain mysteries in the form of puzzles. Of course, we will always be under the threat of cold and supernatural creatures, although in a purely anecdotal way. The game offers three levels of difficulty if we want to simply enjoy the story or take on something much more challenging. A walking simulator and a very interesting option to take into account, which despite the fact that some mechanics, such as the use of the camera, are poorly implemented and that some animations are somewhat clumsy, it is very entertaining and fun to play thanks to its atmosphere and immersive plot.

Lords of the Fallen offers us an experience that seeks to improve the Souls formula with your personal contribution, creating a game with its own identity. The title takes things from other games of other genres, such as Zelda: A Link to the Past, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes or the Soulreaver saga, in which it plays with two very similar maps, but with just the right differences to play by memorizing and interspersing both. A game that every fan of the Dark Souls saga should try, and although in its first hours its new mechanics may seem excessive and overwhelming, they soon become accessible, intuitive and fun to use. A real challenge for any self-respecting gamer and that also allows you to play online in both cooperative or competitive mode.

Oct 10, 2023

Wargroove 2 is a direct sequel to its first part which, on this occasion, has been developed by Chucklefish in the company of the Robotality team, a developer team known for the fun game Halfway. Wargroove 2 is quite a continuation of its first part and gives the impression of not playing a sequel, but rather an incredible expansion with more history, more tactical moments and, above all, a good plot seasoned with large doses of humor. If you liked the first part, it is a mandatory purchase, and if you are simply fans of tactical games, both titles are highly recommended purchases. Wargroove 2 also has a powerful campaign and map editing tool that can give free rein to our imagination and inventiveness with countless playable possibilities.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest the Adventure of Dai is a call to all those nostalgic people who enjoyed Fly's adventures in their childhood and who could not find out what became of their hero beyond what was published in Spain. Sadly, the player will once again suffer abandonment because Infinity Strash only contemplates up to chapter 41 of the 2022 anime, leaving a large part of the work unfinished. Perhaps a sequel will complement the work? Who knows... For the rest, it is a very beautiful game on a visual level, but it suffers from quite a few narrative deficiencies, making it unattractive to pay attention to its story, and playability, with a final feeling of constantly playing a Boss Rush mode with few and dull filler missions in open terrain involved. Fortunately, the temple of memory brings a breath of fresh air that can entertain you for a little longer thanks to its procedural combats, since its campaign, if we remove the dull narrative sequences, can be finished in just over 6 hours.

Unscored - PAYDAY 3
Sep 25, 2023

Payday 3 is a good multiplayer game in which, although it is not essential, its fun increases considerably even more if we enjoy it in the company of a group of friends or acquaintances with whom we can communicate. A game whose story is not important, but its map designs and objectives are, which by the way are excellent and very varied and will range from something as typical as robbing a bank to more original things like robbing an armored van or robbing a museum, situations that will make each experience different and fresh. A very good option if we like online cooperative games and that we should not overlook, even if we have not played the previous ones, since, we insist, the story is not paramount but the execution of its gameplay. The duration of Payday 3 is quite random and depends quite a bit on the human factor and the chemistry between players, but estimate that there are currently 8 maps available and that each one can easily take 20-25 minutes. We must also take into account the high replayable component thanks to its four difficulty modes, of which even the simplest (normal) is very challenging, and the higher the difficulty, the greater the rewards, but remember, greed always breaks the bank. ;)

Resident Evil lovers will be lucky, seeing that Separate Ways is the perfect icing on the cake that Resident Evil 4 Remake needed. Completing the DLC can easily take 4-5 hours, which is not bad at all if we take into account that it costs €9.99 and the base game can easily be finished in 17-20 hours. Without a doubt, an essential DLC for every fan of the saga as well as anyone who wants to delve deeper into the history of Resident Evil 4. As a note, mention that in order to play Separate Ways you will need to be able to play the base game.

NetherRealms Studios can be proud to present its most fun and entertaining Mortal Kombat yet. Mortal Kombat 1 is a breath of fresh air for older players as well as an opportunity for newer players to get hooked on the franchise. A game that will provide us with many hours of fun, almost infinite thanks to its seasonal invasion system, and of which we will invest a lot to complete the towers mode in order to obtain the personalized endings for each character and meet the challenges of the mode. training (combos, perfect blocks, etc.). For the first time in the franchise, we will also have a pretty good online mode with which to face and literally "bust heads" with fighters from all over the globe, without a doubt the perfect final icing on the cake for a very good fighting game that features also with spectacular graphics and impeccable artistic direction. A totally recommended game for any player who loves fighting games.

Sep 4, 2023

Anonymous; Code presents us with a very interesting adventure in which its cornerstone consists of the player's reading ability. A fairly well narrated and descriptive adventure where they always explain things in great detail, especially how Pollon feels, which will keep you hooked as long as they are fans of this type of adventure. Good drawing, good music, good story, ingredients that are the most important thing in a visual novel, although with the drawback of having little playable space for the player, as it is a fairly scripted adventure that, sadly, only comes in English.

Sep 4, 2023

Under the Waves offers us an unparalleled underwater experience with a great emotional charge that constantly invites us to get lost and enjoy that great ecosystem that is the seabed while we discover the ins and outs of Stan's past, the protagonist. An adventure that, although it can easily take us 6-7 hours to complete, constantly invites us to savor and savor it by getting lost and exploring new places, since there will always be something to see and some reward to collect. A game that, personally, I recommend playing without rushing, dim light and headphones, since its wonderful atmosphere and soundtrack will make us live wonderful moments while we soak up the emotional charge that the story of its characters has. A highly recommended game whose only Achilles heel lies in the fact that it has come to us with voices in English, its lack of V-Sync and that it is not suitable for adrenaline lovers.
