Technically the game is on a high level. The graphics are clean, there is only a slight edge flickering here and there and the texts are sometimes a bit hard to read. The sound is terrific and contributes wonderfully to the scary atmosphere. The immersion is fantastic! You have this oppressive feeling all the time and sometimes it runs down your back. Of course you can't miss Jumpscares, but they are cleverly placed and not too often. The first time you go through the house you need - depending on how anxious you are - about 3 to 5 hours.

9.1 / 10.0 - The Evil Within 2
Oct 18, 2017

The story of The Evil Within 2 is very interesting, conclusive and especially towards the end very well told and provides many surprises throughout the story. The plot would make a good Hollywood flick. In conclusion, I'd like to say that the first Survival Horror sequel of 2014 got a more than worthy sequel. So if you want to take an oppressive horror trip through fantastic worlds, The Evil Within 2 is the perfect choice.

6.9 / 10.0 - The Inpatient
Jan 25, 2018

Unfortunately The Inpatient is not the game I had hoped for. The limited freedom of movement clouds the overall impression very much. Actually you don't get a game here, but rather an interactive movie. The dialogues seem to be very long, there are often long pauses between the sentences. And also the lame locomotion later in the game is unfortunately very annoying and artificially prolongs the already quite short pleasure with about 3 hours playing time. The Jumpscares are used too often in my opinion and the effect is unfortunately wearing off a bit. Nevertheless, the gaming experience, especially because of the great immersion, is fantastic and you start it again and again to reach all possible endings.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a quite successful "Hide-and-Seek" horror game. The atmosphere is harmonious and the story is sweeping. Some people might find the constant running and hiding annoying, but once you have mastered it, you will be rewarded with an interesting story.

7.3 / 10.0 - 18 Floors
Sep 19, 2018

The graphic of 18 floors is very nice to look at. Only rarely does a slight edge flicker cloud the otherwise excellent overall impression. Also in terms of sound everything is very harmonious. Only the controls can be described as more than choppy and brings the player to despair at times. The puzzle adventure on the PS4 can only be controlled with two move controllers and too often you have to start several times to get hold of an object. In addition a free movement control would have been desirable and also extremely advantageous. Because you can only move by teleportation, you have to readjust one or two times to get to the desired position. In 18 floors there is English voice output, but German screen texts. All in all we liked the game design and the audiovisual presentation of 18 floors quite well and for puzzle fans there is a clear recommendation to buy.

6.2 / 10.0 - STAY
Sep 24, 2018

STAY is designed in a retro pixel look - you may like it or not. The German text output is flawless and the background music was never annoying at any time. If it weren't for the unfair puzzles and reset points, STAY would be a lot more satisfying - especially since the topic of depression is praiseworthily and carefully brought closer to the player.

The Exorcist: Legion VR is a wonderfully scary horror adventure that may not be suitable for the more sensitive. The graphics are unequalled in the PSVR sector and the atmosphere draws the player deep into the action. Unfortunately the whole thing is a bit too short and offers hardly any replay value.

7.7 / 10.0 - Conarium
Feb 11, 2019

Conarium is a successful, playable H.P. Lovecraft story. The game can be mastered without major problems, but doesn't rely on hard head shots in gameplay and puzzles. Conarium is a classic point & click adventure with a playing time of about four to five hours, which convinces by its atmospheric implementation.

Intruders: Hide And Seek is a completely new claustrophobic experience. Just the idea of being chased by violent intruders in your own home as a young boy is bad enough - and here you can experience it all at first hand. The conversion to VR makes the feeling of anxiety and fear eat all the deeper into the player's brain. Intruders: Hide And Seek is great (psycho) cinema!

7 / 10.0 - She Sees Red
Jan 15, 2020

She Sees Red offers solid thriller fare with good actors. The replay value is quite high due to the four offered endings. With a price of 2,99 € one does not do anything wrong here - despite the bad German subtitles.

A little P.T. here, a little Layers Of Fear there, a little Project Zero there - the mix in Infliction is just perfect. Clean graphics, bombastic sound and a good portion of psycho-horror let the debut album Infliction become a top 10 title of the genre. It is to be hoped that developer Clinton McCleary will remain true to the horror genre and provide us with even more atmospheric games of this kind. So. lights out! Headphones on! And off into the darkest, psychic abysses!

8.5 / 10.0 - The Inner Friend
Apr 29, 2020

The Inner Friend is (on the PS4) not a graphics bomb. It is also not the new gameplay revelation. Instead it is a story monster. Less of a horror-, but more of a psycho trip. Mindfuck at its best!

Follia - Dear Father is a stealth horror survival adventure with strong borrowings from Outlast - only without a video camera. But what worked great in the past doesn't really work here. A lot of "trial and error", little content.

9.1 / 10.0 - Locked Up
May 10, 2020

Locked Up is psycho horror at its best! What the Russian developer Alexandr Reshetnikov has created alone in his debut here made even me, as a die-hard and hardened horror fanatic, shudder at times. And this above all through the fantastic atmosphere, which cast a deep spell over me.

8.1 / 10.0 - Those Who Remain
May 28, 2020

Due to the uncertainty of what you actually do at the beginning of Those Who Remain and what it's all about, everything feels a bit like Twin Peaks at first. But the strong story soon picks up speed and makes sense in the end, which is comforting over the gameplay weaknesses. I give a clear recommendation for fans of the psycho-horror genre.

5.8 / 10.0 - Maid of Sker
Aug 24, 2020

Despite mediocre graphics, Maid Of Sker makes the player shiver, especially because of the successful sound effects. The boring gameplay, on the other hand, doesn't really motivate to play a second round.

The Dark Pictures: Little Hope offers proven scary food, as you are used to from Supermassive Games. Alone or with friends, you have the opportunity to influence the course of history and become master of life and death of your protégés. All in all, The Dark Pictures: Little Hope is good material for a scary evening with a thrilling story, which also has a very unexpected twist at the end.

3.8 / 10.0 - Evil Inside
Mar 27, 2021

Those who know the Silent Hills demo P.T. from summer 2014 will quickly feel at home. The hallway of Mark's house is confusingly similar to the one in P.T., and from now on you have to get through the door at the end of the hallway by triggering events or solving puzzles. Unfortunately, Evil Inside doesn't manage to join the ranks of the above-mentioned successful genre representatives. It is too uninspired and predictable for that. The only good thing about the game is that it is over quickly.
