7.5 / 10.0 - Tennis World Tour 2
Sep 27, 2020

Tennis World Tour 2 shows huge improvements over the original game, with satisfying gameplay and game modes. Some features, like the card system, might be debatable and it could have had better graphics, but this is definitely the right (re)start for a series aiming to become the new Top Spin.

An undoubtedly satisfying game, even if it is not free of flaws and, at times, can be too arcade-y. Many different and compelling disciplines are accompanied by some AI and control issues that somewhat undermine the playability of some of them. Nonetheless, SEGA's new Olympic game can provide many hours of healthy fun, especially if played with friends.

7.5 / 10.0 - MX vs ATV Legends
Jul 2, 2022

MX vs ATV Legends proves to be a worthy evolution of its predecessors, with an improved Career mode and the addition of a significantly large and enjoyable open world. Add to these the high degree of customization, the immediacy of the riding model, the new Trails mode and the excellent implementation of dynamic weather conditions. Too bad just for some technical flaws and the high cost of DLC.

7.5 / 10.0 - PGA Tour 2K23
Oct 21, 2022

PGA Tour 2K23 convincingly delivers thanks to a revamped swing mechanic and improvements to the MyCareer mode, even if the impact of microtransactions is still heavy. It's nice to be able to use the real pros again, but the dearth of new courses is a bit disappointing. Still, it remains a recommended title for lovers of golf titles, both amateur and experienced ones.

Super Mega Baseball 4 shows a great deal of work in terms of content and gameplay, with obvious repercussions in terms of greater cohesion between individual players and impact on team bonding, resulting in a rewarding experience even if with a somewhat steep learning curve.

7.5 / 10.0 - NBA 2K24
Sep 17, 2023

NBA 2K24 brings back the excellent on-court experience the series has accustomed us to, with major improvements in player animations thanks to the new ProPLAY technology. There is, however, a need for stronger new features and, above all, it is plagued by obnoxious microtransactions even in modes that shouldn't have them, such as MyCareer.

An intriguing and compelling historic tactical sim, with a deep scenario reproduction and lots of units to use. The base contents can offer hours of enjoìyment, but be prepared to pay a lot to play all the scenarios, sold as DLCs.

7 / 10.0 - Madden NFL 22
Sep 1, 2021

Madden 22 looks like a sort of transition edition: it winks at the next-gen but doesn't fully exploit its potential, adds interesting new features but doesn't fully rectify some old flaws. The gameplay is still very good, but we are partially disappointed by the lack of the quality leap we were expecting.

7 / 10.0 - NHL 22
Oct 24, 2021

The richness of the game modes, the depth of the Franchise mode and the introduction of the X-Factor system are the indisputable strengths of NHL 22, but graphical uncertainties, an often de-structured commentary and the intrusiveness of microtransactions inevitably affect the final evaluation.

Way of the Hunter is a good hunting simulator that presents the player with excellent gameplay and full freedom for those who do not want to follow the events of the story. It does not convince, however, on the technical front, with dated graphics, pop-up issues and frame-rate drops regardless it's a current-gen-only game.

Matchpoint - Tennis Championships is a simulation that goes through ups and downs. The graphics feel a bit dated and the ball physics doesn't feel fully convincing, but once you master the control system you'll get some decent satisfaction out of it. Too bad, also, for the lack of content both in terms of modes and prominent tennis players.

6.5 / 10.0 - Madden NFL 24
Aug 27, 2023

Madden NFL 24 brings several welcome improvements to the on-field experience, especially with regard to animations and AI, but in all other respects it still lags too far behind other sports simulations.
