We're headed back to school in Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption from Transolar Games. Described as a hybrid-RPG that will look familiar for fans of those classic Sierra Entertainment games. As it turns out, the Nintendo Switch is a fantastic way to enjoy a title such as this!

7 / 10.0 - Castle Kong
Feb 24, 2021

Donkey Kong was the king of arcades in the 1980s, and Castle Kong is here to help us relive some of that magic. With strict adherence to the original classic, this homage includes some quality of life tweaks and, on the Switch, portability.

8 / 10.0 - Asdivine Cross
Mar 12, 2021

Another fairly recent RPG has made the jump from mobile platforms to modern consoles, this time with Asdivine Cross, the third in a series. But don’t label this as another fluffy phone game. As this review makes clear, something special is going on here.

6 / 10.0 - Poison Control
Apr 12, 2021

It’s time to raise Hell and clean up some demonic mess in Poison Control, the latest action RPG from Nippon Ichi Software. Featuring a unique dual-body mechanic and many, many suggestive themes, this is a title that surprisingly doesn’t come with a vinyl figurine.

The folks at KEMCO continue to move the needle closer and closer to RPG perfection with Chroma Quaternion, a title that's fun, entertaining, and hard to pronounce. Fans of classic RPGs that have a hard time going back to the limits of the '90s will once again appreciate what this game has to offer.

The Wonder Boy renaissance continues with Asha in Monster World, a full remake of Monster World IV that brings our heroine and her platforming abilities to a new audience. This time around, it seems as though even copious amounts of style and charm can't make up for long hallways and minimal direction.

A departure from the publisher's more recent mobile RPG ports, Alphadia Genesis 2 sports 3D graphics, and a more reserved combat system. What remains is a throwback to the late '90s and a distinct feeling of emptiness that never really goes away.

There's a new strategy RPG available for Switch. The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos brings the frenetic and zany humor of John Lang's long-running audio series to modern consoles. Unfortunately, technical issues wreak havoc on the Nintendo Switch experience.

9 / 10.0 - Mini Motorways
Jul 19, 2021

There's no shortage of simulation titles on the market, but Mini Motorways truly shines in both visual aesthetics and skill ramp. But does this mobile port succeed in the move to PC, or is this a wrong turn that took the entire thing off course?

10 / 10.0 - The Ramp
Aug 3, 2021

The Ramp is a minimalistic, bite-sized skateboarding title from Hyperparadise. With stripped-down controls and nothing to unlock, it captures the core essence of skating. Dropping into the game is as easy and satisfying as dropping into a real half-pipe, and you’ll keep coming back for more.

7 / 10.0 - Tinytopia
Aug 30, 2021

For those burnt out on realistic city-simulators, Tinytopia has something different to offer. A strange cross between a merge match game and a scaled-down SimCity that puts you in absurd levels and situations. If you can stack a trailer tall enough to survive an alien invasion, then you're in for a treat.

7 / 10.0 - Monster Harvest
Sep 1, 2021

The premise of Monster Harvest sounds almost too good to be true: a farming action RPG combined with monster catching mechanics, what could be better? Unfortunately, playing this on the Nintendo Switch might not be the best for your eyes.

6 / 10.0 - Ultra Age
Sep 19, 2021

An action slasher in the vein of Devil May Cry, Ultra Age is a post-apocalyptic tale of a boy and his robot, fighting their way to the truth. With a large variety of blades and some minor performance issues, players are in for a good time (if they can ignore the voice acting).

9 / 10.0 - Gamedec
Sep 27, 2021

Gamedec is a decision-based roleplaying game that spans both reality and the virtual world. Detective work is complicated enough in just one dimension, can players really be expected to navigate multiple worlds to crack the case? More importantly, is it even worth the effort?

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is a stunning showcase of the classic Harvest Moon series, now available on PC. With its release on the platform, players can also purchase DLC for the game, with new areas to explore and customization options. The result may be cute, but it's not without its problems.
