One thing is for certain, we really, really hope that the game has a long shelf life. It’s the cartoony, bean-themed, chaotic, assault-course rumble that we never realized our lives were missing.

7.5 / 10.0 - Spellbreak
Dec 7, 2020

As it stands, the satisfying gauntlet combos and fast-paced combat can only go so far. With Fortnite’s season 4 providing an array of similar superpowers, to achieve longevity, Spellbreak must continue to shake up the status quo. Thankfully, that’s exactly what the upcoming update promises.

8 / 10.0 - Among Us
Jul 7, 2021

We applaud the devs for realizing the potential of the game mode and we look forward to seeing how its official launch will modify it yet again. Inner Sloth aren’t stopping there when it comes to updates. As well as releasing new maps over the last year, at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase they revealed an increased lobby size of 15, new characters, as well as the delightful opportunity to honk the horn of the airship

6 / 10.0 - Crowfall
Sep 15, 2021

Starting with proper voice chat integration, the developers need to work on quite a few aspects of their game. It’s a shame because when I first started playing my instinct was that the previous poor reviews were unfounded; the more I played the more work I realized the game needed if it was to achieve mass appeal. The late game faction vs faction and guild vs guild combat is good fun but the most fun elements of it are lost on casual players. Until developer ArtCraft make the world-shaping guild-creating throne-warring aspects more accessible, Crowfall will not reach its 8/10 potential.

9 / 10.0 - New World
Oct 29, 2021

Has New World resurrected the glory days of the MMO? Not quite yet, but it’s the biggest step to revitalizing the MMORPG genre in a decade. Should Amazon Games make bold and intelligent decisions with their ongoing game development, then they could do it. And even if they can’t do it alone, alongside upcoming games like AoC and Pantheon, a new golden age could soon be upon us. And hey, who are we to turn down a menage-a-trois or an open marriage? It’s 2021, baby.

6 / 10.0 - Propnight
Dec 9, 2021

Propnight is a fun game if you have a few evenings free, and with a bit of fine-tuning it could be a very fun game. It’s hard to imagine it having too much of a shelf-life though, after a couple of hours of gameplay our group was all simultaneously ready to call it a night.

Deep Rock Galactic is a hugely fun multiplayer romp full of humour, character, dramatic action, and fun foes. It’s made all the better for its excellent voice acting, creative weapon design, and extensive customisation options. It’s a game that the devs have clearly enjoyed making and that makes it all the better for playing.

Unscored - Mortal Online 2
Jan 28, 2022

Many locations and systems are unfinished; many others that are already live are frustrating in their current form. And yet what Mortal Online 2 has is potential, lots of it. Whether they’ll achieve that potential without being so hardcore that they put off their audience, well at this stage it’s “too hard” to say.
