8.5 / 10.0 - Disgaea 4 Complete+
Mar 23, 2021

Overall, Disgaea 4 Complete+ is an excellent port of the original Disgaea 4: A Promise Forgotten. It brings over the classic simple but strategic RPG turn-based gameplay we loved about the original and brings new life to the game on current consoles. However, the game still keeps the same bugbears from the original Disgaea 4.

The game takes everything we love about the previous remastered game, making it look fresh with updated graphics and extra content to create an outstanding remaster. Overall, Bartlow’s Dread Machine stands out as an arcade shooter. From the great graphics to the outstanding variety in levels and customisation. Bartlow’s Dread Machine incorporates all of this in a 20th-century feel that not only controls well but makes you feel like an agent of a bygone era. Despite pacing and movement issues, the game stands out amongst its rivals in the arcade shooter genre. It is adding a considerable amount of new to an already saturated genre of games.

In short, Kill la Kill IF is a fun game that successfully captures the spirit of anime in a video game. Through its beautiful art style, graphics and soundtrack. Despite complicated controls and game mechanics, and lack of an English voice-over which may lose some players. Kill la Kill IF will appeal to various gamers due to its fun gameplay and replayability.

8 / 10.0 - Metamorphosis
Jan 31, 2021

In the end, Metamorphosis is a good game despite issues with NPC animation and dialogue. Although intentionally creepy and psychologically thrilling, which some may be off-put by especially if they despise insects of any kind. Metamorphosis offers excellent gameplay, controls, graphics and music that makes you feel like a bug. For good or bad, depending on your perspective. Nevertheless, the game objectively achieves what it sets out to do with fantastic gameplay, musical and graphical elements. For this, it deserves credit.

As a result, Through the Darkest of Times is an excellent game. Despite some flaws in its dialogue and mission selection. It manages to capture the atmosphere and history of Nazi Germany, showing how effective video games can be as a medium in teaching past historical and political events. While at the same time, offering fantastic strategic gameplay mechanics that make the game stand out within its genre.

8.5 / 10.0 - Puyo Puyo Tetris 2
Jan 18, 2021

Overall, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, much like its predecessor is a great game. Once again it combines two of the all-time great classic puzzle games. That not only make both games shine but innovate on both in a new and unique way. Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 builds on this further with the addition of modes such as skill battles while keeping the charming music and art style we expect from a Puyo Puyo Tetris collaboration.

Overall, Bridge constructor: The Walking Dead is not just another addition to its already saturated entertainment franchise. It is a creative, intricate and well-designed game. That offers notable fun and challenge despite replayability issues and a relatively poor console optimisation. It is a good game. There needs to be more attention given to it.

All in all, Doodle God Evolution is an okay but not great game. Despite having promise, with great music and variety in challenges. Its rather uninspiring puzzle mechanics holds the game back. At best, this game is for kids and is suited on mobile and handheld devices.

Conclusively, Overcooked All You Can Eat is nearly perfect in every way. Despite minor nitpicks. It is the perfect love letter to the Overcooked series of games. It illustrates what makes the Overcooked series stand out within the cooking simulator genre and how it will stand the test of time as one of the genres very best.

All in all, The Suicide of Rachel Foster is an okay but not great game. It is a well-polished 90’s style mystery-thriller game. That tries hard to create an atmosphere of tension and creepiness with twists you expect from a game of this style. For the most part, it succeeds, but never reaches its full potential due to multiple flaws that ruin the game’s immersion that it tries so hard to build.

All in all, Rusty Spout’s Rescue Adventure is a great little bubble puzzle shooter. Although, it doesn’t reinvent the wheel within its genre and is notably tricky. Making it a challenging entry point for new players into the puzzle bubble popping scene. It is a fun and addictive puzzle game with a charming soundtrack and art style and a difficulty level that will appeal to experienced puzzle gamers.
