Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory is a colourful yet repetitive role play and adventure title. Furthermore, it is distinctly old-school with a political flair. Though its action utilises a familiar gameplay loop, the smooth and stylish swordplay ensures that this is a great game to experience.

Police Simulator: Patrol Officers: is an action-packed simulation game full of crime and violence. You must control a rookie cop as he cleans up the city. What's more, as you progress, the crimes become more heinous, and you must rely on your skills and equipment to solve each issue. Sadly, for all its positives, bugs and problems undermine its vast potential. However, if the developers overcome the glitches and issues, this will be a great simulation title.

6.5 / 10.0 - Dreaming Sarah
Mar 8, 2021

As you delve further into your run, you will wonder what you are playing. This thought soon passes and you will love the odd atmosphere and surreal imagery that is presented. The unveiling of the true nature of this story doesn’t come clear until the very end, so I suggest keeping with it. At around £4 it’s great value for money, so I suggest buying it here! Can you help Sarah walk through her mind and piece together the objects that stop her waking? Traverse many surreal landscapes, solve the puzzles and awaken from your slumber.

6.5 / 10.0 - Spooky Chase
Mar 4, 2021

When I first saw this, I was intrigued to see how it would interest me. It’s simplicity got under my skin, and I struggled to put it down. It’s a classic indie title that can be picked up between major games and is one you’ll want to keep installed on your hard drive. I recommend it because of its casual and addictive nature, so buy it here! Can you collect all the objects in this spooky game of capture the flag? Run, jump, and avoid each ghoul that comes your way.

6.5 / 10.0 - Kill it With Fire
Feb 27, 2021

If you jump onto this thinking that you’ll get a massively deep experience with lots of lore, and a rich story presented on a glorious tapestry, you will be sorely disappointed. It’s a casual, silly and fun first-person fighting game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. You have the freedom to explore, destroy and kill anything in sight, so make the most of it. Do I recommend it? Yes, if you want to have a light-hearted game in your library, then buy it here! Spiders are running wild, grab your weapon of choice, find where they are hiding, and take their lives.

6.5 / 10.0 - Void Gore
Feb 18, 2021

How does Void Gore sit amongst its peer group? Very well, mostly. It’s fun, quick, and requires a small amount of tactical thinking. The endless fast-paced gameplay will push you to your limits, yet it’s a shame it didn’t develop further. I would have liked to see big bosses, as this would have given me something to focus my time on. Do I recommend you play this? I do! It’s a solid title with few negatives. If you fancy trying it, a copy can be purchased here! Can you raid hell for its gold? Will you be able to improve your crate in the sky, by upgrading it to a full battle vessel? We shall see, but in the meantime; earn some gold, destroy demons, and stay alive.

6.5 / 10.0 - Dread Nautical
Feb 13, 2021

Dread Nautical is an interesting title that is unique in its core concept. It doesn’t ham up its sense of foreboding, nor does it hammer you with difficulty in the lowest setting. Its user friendly approach wants you to enjoy everything it has to offer before you move on. Team and resource management are 2 key elements that keep you playing. Who do you save, and who fends for themselves? You have limited food, who eats, and who starves? It’s tough, but as the group leader you must decide! Do I recommend it? Absolutely! A copy can be purchased here! Search, gather, help, fight, and sound that horn. This is your life until you solve the mystery surrounding your presence on the good ship “The Hope”.

6.5 / 10.0 - Goblin Sword
Feb 10, 2021

HugePixel clearly has an affinity with all things old-school. Their love for the retro titles shines through in this modern game, and I loved it. Every element filled me with nostalgia, and they got the balance of difficulty just right. Though it’s only a short game, it won’t take up much room in your library and can be played casually. Do I recommend it? Absolutely! And you can buy a copy here! Can you help the hero solve the puzzles and defeat everything in his path? Find that wizard and get your one true love back.

6.5 / 10.0 - Tennis World Tour 2
Jan 29, 2021

There were no high expectations when starting this, and it didn’t wow or blow me away. It delivered exactly what I thought it would; a fun, challenging and updated tennis experience. For lovers of the sport and genre, you will appreciate this much more than I ever will. I’m not willing to invest the time required to excel at this, but I still get to enjoy a well made title with some minor annoyances. Do I recommend you play this? I do, but to get the most out of it you must love tennis. If you want to own a copy for yourself, then it can be purchased here! It’s time to pick up that racket, create your player and become a ‘GOAT’.

For all the negatives that I’ve noted, and the all too familiar plot and game style, I enjoyed myself. The artistry is fantastic, and the world that is created is both beautiful and daunting in equal measure. The audio is fantastic, mostly and will transport you to the fantasy setting with ease. The dialogue is badly translated in places and leads to some odd moments that are devoid of emotion or sense. Is this worth adding to your library? I think so. Not a classic by any stretch, but it does enough to warrant being part of your library if you are a fan of the RPG genre. If you want a copy, it can be purchased here! Can you survive the Reaping? Plan your every move and hope for luck in this world that the gods have forgotten.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful Projection: First Light looks. It’s a well-rounded piece that uses an unusual twist on an old concept. The style reinforces the history behind puppetry, and the graphics and audio create a lush and emotive landscape. However, its key mechanic is its main drawback, forcing it to plateaus early as a consequence, and this impacts the desire to play. Do I recommend it? I do. Only because it’s a masterpiece to look at and listen to. If you want a copy, it can be purchased here! Be warned though, you’ll be balancing beauty with frustration. Can you help Greta manipulate the light and travel the world? Patience and a glowing butterfly are all you need to succeed.

The Pillars: Puzzle escape is attempting to stand out in a crowded and niche market, where the leaders of the pack are extremely strong titles. A much simpler approach makes this an accessible game compare to the others, but I can’t ignore its graphical short comings. Had this element been spot on, it would have scored 7.5 out of 10, but it has to be marked down slightly for these issues. With this being said, do I recommend you try it? Yes. A great entry level title that can be played casually, with an excellent audio and nice graphics (if you don’t look closely at the details.) Can you unlock the mysteries of the pillars and escape this magical world?

6.5 / 10.0 - Wilmot's Warehouse
Jan 8, 2021

I’m not entirely sure who this is aimed at. It’s not challenging enough to be considered a puzzle game, nor is it graphically detailed enough to allow you to sort out your items by their category, so it’s not a resource management game either. It’s one of those games that fills a nondescript genre, and can only be thought of as a filler title. Something that can mindlessly absorb hours of your life, without you even knowing about it. So, do I recommend it? Strangely, I do. For all its faults, and my hatred for Wilmot, it’s still a fun little game. If you pick it up just to try it out, you’ll have a good time, and the little niggles won’t get to you too much. But if you start this with that completion in mind, then you have just opened Pandora’s box, my friend. Nights will be lost, and you’ll awaken from your gaming stupor, greyer and angrier than you’ve ever been! Take control of your little white square, after all, that stock will not organise itself.
