Overall, Scholar of the First Sin is a fantastic upgrade and worth the purchase if you never had the chance to play Dark Souls 2 on PC or current gen consoles. Even if you did play through it before, the DLC alone is worth checking out. The visual upgrades are rather stunning if you haven't played on PC, and the new enemy positions offer veteran players a nice surprise.

90 / 100 - Bloodborne
Mar 31, 2015

This nightmare is challenging, scary, and easily one of the best games I've ever played. Both fans of From's previous work and newcomers alike should really give this a shot, and see what you're made of. May the good blood guide your way.

90 / 100 - Transistor

While it has the capabilities, it probably won't appeal to those looking for twitch-action or puzzles. Still it deserves a chance to steal your heart, just as it stole mine. The only thing missing is more content.

Road to Gehenna is fun, smart, and a great reason to check out The Talos Principle if you haven't yet.

90 / 100 - Doom
May 16, 2016

If you like first person shooters, if you're an old DOOM fan, or if you just like killing demons, treat yourself to DOOM 2016. It's going to amaze me if id Software decides to not do a follow-up to this game, and Bethesda/ZeniMax would be crazy not to let this studio basically do whatever the hell it wants to after this release.

With a low purchase price and a co-op option, this game should be on just about anyone's purchase list

There is an absolute ton of payoff in this final episode, as there should be, and Telltale does an amazing job of wrapping up the season with laughs, tears, and some epic loot for these would-be vault hunters.

The camera behaves sort of weird at times as well, but this is also highly customizable.

The particle effects for the various spells look great, and heroes are easily identifiable amongst the maelstrom.

89 / 100 - Far Cry 4
Nov 28, 2014

This game is HUGE. At the end of the day, you are absolutely getting every dollar of value from Far Cry 4, and I'm nowhere close to being bored of it after roughly thirty hours. If you enjoyed Far Cry 3, do yourself a favour and pick up FC4. You will not be disappointed, I assure you.

There is no question episode three has some big shoes to fill as "Tales From the Borderlands: Episode 2 – Atlas Mugged" continues Telltale's successful string of story driven adventures. This adaptation of Borderlands has been quite an adventure so far and I cannot wait to see where the story is going to take me from here. For now, I'm going to sit back and eagerly await the next instalment.

86 / 100 - Rocket League
Jul 20, 2015

Rocket League can offer some invaluable fun and playtime. It's hard to beat solid mechanics and a sense of camaraderie you usually only get from playing sports. So gear up, head out to the pitch, and score some goals for all the kids who wished they owned Tyco RC cars years ago.

It's a clear choice when deciding if you should pick up Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. If you liked the first game or just want something with some over-the-top violence, this is definitely worth a purchase. A story David Lynch would be proud of, great music, and twitch-action gameplay are even more reasons to pick this up and give it a shot. It's not for the faint of heart, but if you can handle the extremely mature content then by all means, enjoy tackling this wild ride. I'm sure it'll grab a hold of you and only let go long enough to bash your head in with a wooden bat.

A bit more polish in some areas for the PS4 would have really helped sell this version, but for those of us who don't have a last-gen console anymore it's great to see the series arriving on the new platforms. Keep 'em coming Telltale. In the meantime, I'll stay hungry.

The art and animations all feel at home in the universe this studio has produced, giving a cartoony kid-friendly vibe that's violent but not over the top.

Honestly, I went into Leap of Fate with low expectations of just another twin-stick shooter and was very impressed overall.
