Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is a step in the right direction for Nihon Falcom with some intense combats and a well-thought-out story. The characters are fun and they bring a lot of possibilities to the gameplaly making it almost impossible for the players to get bored. If it wasn't for the very average visuals and the monotonous colors of the game, the experience could've gone from good to great. Guess we'll have to wait for Ys X...

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury offers much more than your regular Switch port with a brand new adventure that packs between 5 and 8 hours of great new original content. I loved my time spent in this new open world of Bowser's Fury and going through 3D World a second time sure was a blast. Hopefully, this new package gives the game the second life that it truly deserves.

Little Nightmares II is a great sequel that builds on the strengths of the first game while making some key adjustments to the gameplay and the overall experience. This new chapter met all my expectations with a compelling story that ties into the first game beautifully. Although the controls are not as buttery smooth as I wish, it is a fun and quick little game that is very well put together.

With an undeniably charming visual, a captivating story and complex gameplay, Bravely Default II is a great JRPG. Despite a few slowdowns, BD2 should satisfy veterans of the genre with its great soundtrack and high level of difficulty. It might not be a game for newcomers, but Claytechworks managed to bring the franchise to the next level without forgetting the essence of what made it great.

Trails of Cold Steel IV marks the conclusion of a huge saga of four games that delivered a lot of emotions. The only way to evaluate the 4th title and final title of a series is to look at the collection as a whole and at the path that brought us to the ending. With that said, we can conclude that Nihon Falcom did an almost flawless job with a story that will stay in my mind for many years.

New Pokémon Snap is a splendid sequel bringing the series in the right direction and which will fill the hearts of Pokémon fans with joy. For this second chapter, Bandai Namco offers plenty of content and the improved visuals will charm long time fans. Graphically speaking, this is the best looking Pokémon game on the market and it gives us lots of hope for the futur.

8 / 10.0 - Judgment
May 8, 2021

This remastered version of Judgment is the definitive edition that all newcomers should go with first. The fluidity of the combats are very smooth and the loading times are basically completely gone. Its just too bad that this upgraded version doesn't really bring anything new to the table to entice returning players.

Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind are two great games of their genre. Nintendo invested a lot in these lesser known titles and the result is quite great. There's some great production quality behind these remakes, despite some minor flaws. If it your kind of game, give them a shot !

Altough this remastered version of Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne is a bit weak in terms of new additions, it's still one of the best in the genre. In my opinion, SMT3 is one of the most well balanced JRPGs in terms of mix of gameplay and story elements. It also offers a great challenge which makes it a bit tough for newcomers, but purists will simply love it.

7.5 / 10.0 - Miitopia
May 24, 2021

Miitopia is a great fit in Nintendo's catalogue since it's a great experience for casual gamers. It's a great place to take your first step into the world of RPGs and this time it comes to Nintendo Switch with a lot of interesting improvements.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart mixes heart and humour in a very action driven adventure beautifully modernized for the new generation. The gameplay will completely engage you with a collection of very diversified weapons and well executed plateforming elements. If you were waiting for a system seller, this is the one. It uses the DualSense fully with haptic feedback and the adaptative triggers as well as the 3D Audio which put together truly give the feeling of a next-gen experience. It will definitely be amongs your favorite games of the year.

8.5 / 10.0 - Game Builder Garage
Jun 22, 2021

Once again, Nintendo shows they have the magic touch with a unique experience that is very outside the box thinking. With the help of seven very complete interactive lessons, learn the basics of being a programmer with a simplified approach that eases us into the complexity behind making video games.

Mario Golf: Super Rush introduces fun new ways to play golf including Speed Golf and Battle Mode. Camelot really has reached his peak in terms of technique and quality of gameplay. It's particularly fun to play with the Joy-Con motions which has been improved over Wii Sports. It's just too bad the solo adventure doesn't pack much of a punch and that there's no tournament mode this time. I hope Camelot will spend a bit more time putting the finishing touches the next time around.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD offers some much needed enhancements that result in a better game. Whether it's your first or second time exploring Skyloft, you will definitely find some charm in revisiting the story where everything started.

7 / 10.0 - No More Heroes 3
Sep 21, 2021

No More Heroes 3 is an honest sequel that honors its creator's craziness and is a lot of fun at times. Unfortunately, half-hearted writing and too frequent and long loading times undermine the experience.

8 / 10.0 - TOEM
Sep 25, 2021

TOEM is a very fun photographic adventure that stands out for its unique approach. I would have to go as far back as Flight Simulator to find an experience as peaceful and relaxing as this. Plus, with its charming entirely hand-drawn look, it should definitely land on your console.

With its unique characters and gameplay, Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan opens the door to more inclusive and less violent games. We quickly get attached to Billy, Rodrigo and the characters who accompany us. The story gives us a great lesson of life even though its relatively shorts which makes it a worthwhile indie.

9.5 / 10.0 - Metroid Dread
Oct 12, 2021

Metroid Dread dives us in a long awaited sequel which does not dissapoint. I really enjoyed the pace of the action which connects bosses quickly with a good level of difficulty. Despite the many Metroidvania that have been released in recent years, the original series is still kind in 2021. Nintendo is taking the series in the right direction and I can't wait to dive into Metroid Prime 4.

The interpretation done by Eidos Montreal of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy came as a really nice surprise to me. I devoured every moment thanks to its endearing characters, the depth of the script and a good level of humour that put a constant smile on my face. Eidos proves once again that there is room for high budget linear games that are played solo. I had my fears like everyone else, but I came out very satisfied and can't wait to go back and redo some of my choices.

100 minigames and the five tables would have made a perfect addition to Super Mario Party as a DLC. Unfortunately, when you consider Mario Party Superstars on its own, it strikes me as too thin in content. Despite the excellent compilation of minigames, the rest doesn’t reach the Superstar status. In short, while I appreciate its nostalgic aspect, I would choose Super Mario Party before Mario Party Superstars.
