With its ambition to be more than just a port for the PC and iOS, lovable characters, music to get your groove on, and the 16bit graphics are all putting in their work to become an enjoyable game as a whole. It’s still a little unfortunate to notice some frame drops and technical issues where the bullets won’t fire, which made it seem worse than its original title. Even with some of the respectful staff working behind the scenes, the end result became more dishonorable than it should have been. We expect some updates to patch up some of the errors to be at least playable once it’s ready to meet the players.

In Zorro The Chronicles, you could reenact most of the scenes that aired on its original animation. Players can either choose to face the enemies up front or choose the quieter option to avoid any combat. The signature action of marking the opponents with the Z mark is also possible. Although the basic structure of the game is great, there seems to be too much bugs and the kid friendly auto-interactions disturb the overall experience. The details of Zorro throwing a smoke grenade when he depletes all of his health, and saying that he’ll definitely come back, is one of the key animations which creates the immersion all kids will appreciate.

Melty Blood: Type Lumina's origins have never been officially released in Korea. So the reality is that the game is really for those who are already familiar with the original story and characters, as this title won't justify the full arc of the plot. But still, the game is more like a reboot of the existing fighting game and those who aren't really into competitive fighting games can still enjoy all the single player contents within the game. As this is their first initiative in Korean localization, it provides hopes of streamlining the Type-Moon franchise to have a place in Korea.

Within the collection package, there are so many back stories and contents that if you’re a true fan of the series, they surely are all worth checking out. The most interactive feature would be the graphical enhancement of HD scaling which allows some of the older Samurai Shodown games to feel like you’re playing them at a higher resolution. This game may not be the best Samurai Showdown or at least the fighting game experience you’ll get if this was your first ever interaction of the genre. There are no elements that would teach you the game to get good at when played against other fighting game players. So it’s best to be purchased if you’re a fan of this classic title. Sadly, the game only provides localizations of the menus, thus you would require a little knowledge in the foreign language game to perfectly understand the story elements of the 7 Samurai Shodown games in this package.

Based on a Korean fairy tale, this game will satisfy the hunger of the gamers who have been waiting for a game that truly brings out the most Korean aspect of its theme. The challenges are solid and quite up there but if your utmost goal is to get to the ending, it’s not impossible. While it’s unfortunate that some of the noticeable bits aren’t quite polished and they happen to be the most amount of content that you’ll linger at, but the sound design and the Asian art style is an eye candy that will surely deliver a pleasing experience for all gamers.

7 / 10.0 - Ayo the Clown
Jul 29, 2021

Ayo the Clown is a proud introduction of the developer, Cloud M1. Even with repetitive play styles, the 8 unique locations provide delicate appeals of each other and the motivation to push forward with upgrades along the progression. The character design may seem like ‘a mistake’ and doesn’t really give that sense of it being a reputable main character, though these guys are definitely fans of platformers and their experiences were translated into a decent work of art. It’s fair to say that their sequels and future works are greatly anticipated.

7 / 10.0 - Bouncing Hero
Jul 5, 2021

Your controls are bound to the simple mechanics of always being on a pogo stick. So there are some tricky situations that you’ll never get to experience in a conventional platformer. The bouncing mechanic truly brings out some specific skill and understanding to the game’s flow. Since the game is also available and easy to access on the mobile version, there is no real reward for it to be on the Nintendo Switch.

Due to the limitations of the Nintendo Switch’s resolutions, the visuals may not be at its best, but all of its contents are firmly ported to the handheld. The explosive visuals do not disappoint even if compared to the high quality anime scene of its original IP, thanks to the consistent frame rate that keeps up with the action. The best thing about this port is some of the free contents you can experience which you may have missed out since it’s original release.

While the Nintendo Switch version of the game has a slightly downgraded visual resolutions and frame rate than other platforms, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV: Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle has a clever, possibly even smarter set of controls and accessibility with the addition of the touch and swipe screen function. But this was only possible because the game’s usual detailed strategy customization has become simplified. The Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack adds more in-depth content but doesn’t highlight some of the butterfly effects of certain strategic decisions. Still an enjoyable game to those who expect complex drama and human interactions sprouting from different tactical outcomes.

8 / 10.0 - Gungrave G.O.R.E
Jan 2, 2023

Iggymob, the developer behind this game has resolved the dilemma of an IP that had been yearning for a sequel but had to accept a new era and generation of gamers who weren’t too familiar with the original creatives. The modern gamers were welcomed to this new iteration of the original IP, enjoy the game to its heart's content, and get a good night's sleep once they’re done and dusted with. It’s also a good gesture to fill the position of a game that doesn’t feel too distant to know its origins and most of the negative feedback they received in the earlier stages of the release has been patched through some major updates twice before its first month. These warranty-like solutions gave us hope that they will be cared throughout, and even showed some considerations of adding a history section to tell its detailed origin story as a form of a flashback.

Smooth difficulty climb, endings that will remain in your heart, unique lingual voices were well crafted to provide a distant fantasy feel. The creators devoted their efforts to create original characters and universe and the players can see the traces of their work ethics in which they yearned to become the new role model of platformers. For those hardcore platformer gamers, they should be able to find the two most important features required in platformers. One positive feature is where the support mode in the sequel has been implemented in the first game which allows players to jump in mid-game instead of just backseat gaming.

The graphic quality is no better than average, but the sound design was good enough to remind you that you’re enjoying the SaGa series and its unique style of gameplay. As one of the original JRPGs, there are plenty of unique scenarios which include several sub-events to explore. The battle difficulty was a little harder than expected and its flow of action seems to be inconsistent, but there are more positives than bad which completes the puzzle to make it become a true SaGa universe.

To explain Rescue Party: Live! in a simpler phrase, it's as if you’re saving those poor souls who made a big mess in an Overcooked arena. But as the title suggests, it’s definitely a party game. Almost every second of gameplay requires areas that need to be filled with communication in the midst of a dynamic chaos. The best way to play would be the 4 player multiplayer and they can be both accessed locally and via online. Don’t be alarmed as there will be scenes that require CPA along with the cute little graphics and they’re quite realistic to a sense, which can actually bring some educational value while learning the importance of teamwork and cooperation.

8 / 10.0 - Cris Tales
Jul 19, 2021

While the cinematic procedures required some aspects of time travel - which also is part of the combat in this game, it has been well presented as it was mostly inspired from many existing JRPG titles. Some of the dialogues are not recommended to be skipped as there is no other way to determine the outcome of the given context. Customization of equipment also feels a bit lackluster. Despite these little hiccups, it would serve to become a genre pioneer for tags such as ‘Cris Tales like’ games due to its uniqueness in mechanism among many other RPGs out there. Visuals that look like popup artbooks and fully voiced dialogues allow you to enjoy it to the fullest.

80 / 100 - Karma Knight
May 17, 2020

Due to the developers intentions of bottleneck situations which keeps the player pondering about ‘which strategy would suit the best in this scenario’, every minute or so can become a challenge for the player. In other words, you could consistently experience the best feeling when your intuitions actually work. Even if you’re not a veteran in the platformer action genre, the upgrades you get while progressing and adjustable difficulty can be of use to make your gaming experience to the fullest. There are no proper ‘scoring’ systems to show off your skills to other gamers but it’s not much of a fuss when you think of the affordable price range for this game.

It’s quite a decent gaming content you’ll get for around $9.99 The story and and gameplay is well balanced to keep you interested throughout progression. The ‘pipeline’ combat mechanics have several variables that keep you guessing for better strategies. RPG elements such as character building progressions keep the beauty within this ‘diamond in the rough’ game.

80 / 100 - Filament
May 24, 2020

Filament is a great puzzle game that revolves around a certain space craft. Once you understand the basics, the developer intentions of pouring down difficult puzzles may feel a bit overwhelming. But once you understand the purpose of these puzzles required to be solved, you’ll deeply interact with the story of the game. The mystery elements you resolve after each puzzle is very rewarding and motivates you to soldier on even further.

Back in 2017, a couple of Bayonetta games were released on PC and this Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle includes both games, added in some fixes and additional elements with Korean localization and then re-released after 10 years since the original. The gameplay does not disappoint even compared to some of the modern action games and if you play through the easier modes, the gameplay experience will still be at its best form for those who may lack any advanced control scheme of the game. They may have not added new contents for the modern consoles but the affordable pricing for two games in one is already a decent value as a bundled package.

87 / 100 - QV
Nov 21, 2020

What’s refreshing is the fact that in QV, there are minor usages of recycling of the same puzzle mechanics as you advance the stages, thus all the stage encounters feel unique and challenging. Multiple difficulty levels and unique achievements to unlock brings in replay value to the fullest. Style and artwork delivers the crisp and cool vibe from the main menu screen to the ending. This value for money puzzle game has more than enough value in this fully diverse package of contents.
