7.5 / 10.0 - Sephonie
Apr 14, 2022

Sephonie is a game that succeeds in making non-punitive decisions for the player. What could be a frustrating experience becomes a relaxing and fun activity. However, this does not make it exempt from criticism, especially in platform sessions. The rich biodiversity draws attention for its creativity and excellent description of the species. This makes the environment more alive and rich, giving more pleasure to explore the scenarios for new living beings. Sephonie may have its problems, but it's included in the selection of those good games to pass the time.

Valley of the Dead: MalnaZidos is one of the worst experiences I ever had with videogames. The gameplay is bad in every possible way, the story is badly told, and the bugs make the experience unbearable. The few qualities [the game has] are the cutscenes and the possibility to see different points-of-view to the story through the perspective of other characters — which is also underexplored. If you're interested in the plot, it'd be better to invest yourself into one of the other [MalnaZidos] media available.

8 / 10.0 - Time Loader
Nov 20, 2021

Time Loader offers players a very fun and creative adventure. Although there are limitations, the creativity of the scenarios and alternative paths allow the player to be captivated by the various references from the 90s, and mechanics based on a more realistic physics are competent. Some points, such as the soundtrack and the little variety of challenges, leave something to be desired, but these details do not prevent the game from being enjoyed.

7 / 10.0 - To The Rescue!
Nov 3, 2021

To the Rescue! is a simple but complete game. It's easy to play and great to pass the time, although it's a little repetitive and has some confusing commands. It works very well in portraying the reality of foster care work, presenting all the details of the procedures and not putting seriousness aside. It is a competent management game that will meet the expectations of those interested, in addition to having the charisma of dozens of animals in its kennel.

6.5 / 10.0 - Monster Crown
Nov 2, 2021

Monster Crown is more than just a copy of Pokémon. It is a game with a lot of personality, mainly due to its reproduction mechanics and its many charismatic monsters. However, its gameplay becomes tiresome due to its difficult to navigate menus and unintuitive combat. The map, although large, does not encourage exploration and makes things uninteresting. All in all, it's a worthwhile experience for Pokémon fans and, with future updates, it has everything to improve and become a remarkable title.

9 / 10.0 - Inscryption
Oct 26, 2021

Inscryption goes far beyond what it initially appears to be. The unusual combination of deckbuilder, roguelike and escape room becomes one of the most interesting experiences I've ever had. Despite the unbalanced disputes, the ritual theme and the intimidating setting are extremely competent, making us afraid to explore and proceed. The post-game is mind blowing, totally breaking expectations and raising the game even more.

8.5 / 10.0 - Metallic Child
Oct 8, 2021

Metallic Child is a game with dynamic, fun and extremely challenging action. The roguelike elements greatly enhance the title, making each playthrough unique. Besides that, the story is an emotional affair and fulfills its role to entice the player and guide them through the adventure. However, the lack of weapon variety goes against the title's diversity, and this is what I consider its main issue. Despite that, this is an excellent game, filled with action, charm and fun. With a few fixes, it has everything to become even better.

8 / 10.0 - The Last Friend
Oct 7, 2021

The Last Friend presents itself as a very fun title and has a balanced challenge. Planning your dog team is a fun activity, as is building combos with Alpha. However, the feeling is that the game lacks a bit of body. Augmenting the post-game with more stages and/or missions would help extend the lifespan and encourage the player to create more dog combinations. Although some issues need to be fixed, it is an excellent option for tower defense fans.

8 / 10.0 - Aeon Drive
Oct 5, 2021

Within its proposal, Aeon Drive delivers a game far above average. It's short for anyone looking for a brief distraction and long enough for anyone interested in collecting and exploring everything. As it tends to be a difficult and repetitive game, the dynamic gameplay and different path options in each stage help make it less tiring. Because it has a short campaign, its longevity depends on the player's interest in setting time records and collecting extras. Even with its problems and limitations, it is an excellent option for fans of the genre.

Sep 6, 2021

Despite its problems, OPUS: Echo of Starsong stands out as one of the best games I tried in 2021. It captivates you with the little details and the interesting cutscenes and dialogue. Besides that, the universe has a rich mythology and realistic details. There are few problems: the lack of Portuguese localization and the simple and repetitive systems, which can drive away those looking for a challenge. However, this does not diminish the game's quality, being a recommendation for anyone looking for a touching story.

8.5 / 10.0 - GRIME
Aug 17, 2021

GRIME awakened contradictory feelings in me: at the same time that I felt uncomfortable in that world, I wanted to absorb it more and more. Mixing soulslike with metroidvania works well, except for the protagonist's mobility issue, requiring patience in exploration. The setting is one of the highlights with elaborated and detailed characters and locations that provokes the most different types of feelings. GRIME is not a game for everyone, but it is an excellent recommendation for those who want to try something different.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles  is not only a compilation of two good games, but also a fun adventure in English courts. The stories are rich in details, with interesting and creative plots that make you rack your brain to understand them. Added to this, we have Herlock Sholmes giving a very cool dynamic to the investigations and actively participating in the missions. Even with the pacing problems, the possibility of passing the story automatically relieves, in a way, what would be a tiring game. For newcomers, it is an excellent option to get to know the franchise; for veterans, we have new features that make Ace Attorney even more engaging.

7.5 / 10.0 - B.ARK
Jul 28, 2021

B.ARK is an interesting experiment in the well-known shoot 'em up genre. While offering a good challenge with numerous enemies attacking at the same time, its simple concepts make it accessible to players of all levels. However, the stages are very short, leaving a feeling that everything could be bigger and better.

5.5 / 10.0 - Jin Conception
May 29, 2021

Jin Conception is certainly a whirlwind of feelings. While the combat is very well done and the mechanics of social deduction instigates curiosity, the numerous bugs and wrong decisions in the game design make it tiring, frustrating and disappointing. There is a potential hidden in the midst of the problems that appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel. At the moment, it is just an RPG that delivers an experience of the nostalgic games of the 16-bit era, but in a mediocre way.

8.5 / 10.0 - Hundred Days
May 20, 2021

Just like a good wine, Hundred Days - Winemaking Simulator brings an explosion of flavors to those who try it. The excess of information can be frightening at first, but the well-constructed tutorial and captivating story work very efficiently to win over the player. In addition, observing all the details and realizing the care that the developers took in the development made me more willing to explore all the possibilities in the manufacture of wines. Hundred Days is, without a doubt, one of the most delicious experiences I have had the pleasure of experiencing in the last few years.
