Rayman Legends is a phenomenal game, and one that I was pleasantly surprised by. Filled with bright, creative worlds, a fantastic soundtrack, and platforming without peer, Rayman Legends is a game that anyone, from child to adult, can and should play. And at its $40 price tag, it's a value that cannot be easily beaten.
I myself am not one profoundly familiar with Assassin's Creed, and this is the first title I've truly sat down with and completed. That said, I find Black Flag to be an excellent entry point for new fans of the series.
Thankfully enough, Respawn and Titanfall did indeed deliver on the high quality that came to be expected from this game's immense amount of hype and marketing. While highly-advertised games often run the risk of not living up to expectations, it is very refreshing to see that Titanfall goes above and beyond in terms of quality.
Overall, I feel like Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is the fresh, simple platformer that the industry has missed since the days of the genre's prominence. While it's too small to ever win a Game of the Year award, the game is more than worth your time, especially when only for $15.
Still, don't think that for its flaws, Garden Warfare is a game you should hesitate to purchase. For the price ($40 for the Xbox One version, $30 for others), it's a parcel of fun and wacky shooting that cannot be beat.
If you are looking for a game that you can pick up and play really quickly while waiting to go to school, while something sits in the oven, or while you wait for your boyfriend or girlfriend to finish getting ready, this is a game for you. Awesomenauts Assemble! is an incredibly fun game to pick up at a moment's notice and still fully immerse yourself in its wackiness.
Its few flaws aside, FIFA 14 is a great game and an even better soccer simulator. The improved EA Sports Ignite physics engine makes a world of difference, and allows for a very realistic and enjoyable experience that all types of gamers can find some enjoyment in.
All in all, Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut is an enjoyable game. It adds a fresh new feel to an otherwise old, washed-up genre that can appeal to just about anybody looking for a casual gameplay experience.
At its core, Ryse is beautiful, flawed, but still enjoyable. Xbox One owners should definitely give Ryse a chance. Eventually. Maybe just not now, nor at its current price tag.
Overall, Moebius: Empire Rising was a disappointment. A game with an interesting plot and curious puzzles was hampered by boring characters and the nuance of guesswork. Ultimately, Moebius failed to deliver on its numerous potential intricacies. It often appeared as though the developers failed to consider many things from the perspective of the player, making it so that many of the game's features, interesting as they could have been, were left fairly flat and uninteresting. Still, if you can make it through much of the tedious gameplay, players are sure to find some interest in a plot that is arguably pretty interesting.
