2 / 10.0 - Monopoly Madness
Jan 3, 2022

Everyone is familiar with the basic principle of Monopoly, having as many streets as possible in your possession. It's no different in Monopoly Madness. The only difference is that the way you do that consists of a lot of sucking, blowing and pushing another button every now and then. It's not a traditional Monopoly game and in this case it's a shame. Monopoly Madness is mostly boring and monotonous and can't keep you entertained for more than five to ten minutes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III picks up where they left off last year. Changing course in the meantime turns out to be anything but effective. The single player is far too short and feels too rushed. The multiplayer also does exactly what you would expect, namely not being entertaining due to the toxic behavior of the players. Add to that the fact that there are no new maps, but only directly transferred maps from Modern Warfare 2 from 2009. Is there anything positive about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III? Yes, Zombies is quite entertaining because there is more to it.

RoboCop: Rogue City is the best that Teyon has presented us when it comes to youth heroes from the 80s. RoboCop plays nice and stiff and the action is also good. Writing out tickets feels especially funny when it comes to illegal parking. However, the quality remains outdated graphically and you should only play this if you are a fan of the films.

Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom looks beautiful because of the anime style. As beautiful as it looks, it all feels very tiring. You are often doing the same thing and therefore you will never entertain yourself for hours because your attention span goes down quickly. Nevertheless, it is especially nice to play in between if you are tired of the larger games.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers does something completely different than you're used to. Namely, surviving and escaping from a well-known villain like Cell more than attacking him. However, the game has some shortcomings such as having to wait a long time to be a villain and sparse content. Nice for the fans, but a lot has to happen if you really want to play this for hours.

6.5 / 10.0 - Rise of the Ronin
Mar 21, 2024

Rise of the Ronin takes you to an exciting time in Japanese history. However, that says it all. Rise of the Ronin borrows many elements from well-known games such as Assassin's Creed and Nioh. The combat can be relatively frustrating due to the different styles you have to learn. There is also a lot to experience in the open world, but it is not always beautiful or challenging. Rise of the Ronin is therefore primarily a game where you can enjoy yourself for a short time.

6.5 / 10.0 - Animal Hospital
Nov 6, 2023

Animal Hospital does exactly what you would expect. You have to research animals, heal them and receive money to move on to the next injured person. It is simplistic and therefore ideal to just pick up in between. If you expect more depth, you will be disappointed with Animal Hospital.

6.5 / 10.0 - Immortals of Aveum
Sep 4, 2023

Immortals of Aveum is the first project from Ascendant Studios and there is nothing wrong with that. It's just not a high-flyer because the game doesn't get past the border of somewhat entertaining. The story is quite mediocre, the controls are quite counterintuitive on the console and the main missions are linear. There could have been more if it had been given more of an adult touch.

6.5 / 10.0 - Park Beyond
Jul 1, 2023

Park Beyond takes you into the mind of a manager who must ensure that an amusement park runs smoothly and brings in money. Sounds interesting, but we already know this formula from Planet Coaster. Park Beyond borrows a lot of elements from that game and that makes Park Beyond feel like a cheap clone in a new jacket. Certainly not a bad game, because customizing your roller coaster yourself is a fun option. Don't expect too much from it though, because it's fun for an afternoon and then you're done.

6.5 / 10.0 - Deliver Us Mars
Feb 22, 2023

Deliver us Mars is a direct sequel to Deliver us the Moon by Dutch developer KeokeN Interactive. Deliver us Mars takes us to a new planet, Mars. Mars is the new playing field for Kathy. New elements have been added such as climbing. However, this often feels frustrating. You can also do puzzles and these get a bit boring after doing the same thing a few times. Fortunately, the various environments are good enough to keep you busy for a few hours.

6.5 / 10.0 - Battlefield 2042
Nov 24, 2021

Battlefield 2042 takes us to the near future where climate change and Kessler syndrome destroyed the world. It has no single-player mode, so you can only enjoy the online multiplayer. All-Out Warfare is very large and especially fun to play with friends. But Battlefield 2042 is pretty boring unless you decide to dive into Battlefield Portal and be surprised by the creativity of others or make something by yourself

7 / 10.0 - Let's Sing 2024
Dec 21, 2023

Let's Sing 2024 does what you would expect, letting loose on contemporary music with a touch of nostalgia. You can hang out with friends again, against strangers online or just relax alone. The career mode is nice, but only if you are not yet familiar with the series. Classic is where you have free choice to decide for yourself what you sing. With 35 songs and possibly extra from the VIP Pass, you will be entertained for hours. So grab your phone or microphone and go crazy.

Destiny 2: Lightfall picks up a year after the events of The Witch Queen and seasons in between. It is an action-packed expansion that does not reach the epic story of The Witch Queen. It has some positive changes that the community has been begging for for years almost. Still, some of those changes are time consuming and don't quite show up. But the biggest flaw is and remains a well-developed story that leaves you with more questions than answers. Hopefully this will change in the coming seasons.

So The Last of Us Part I is somehow an improvement, but it is very minimal. The controls are sometimes quite rusty and graphically it is a small improvement and sometimes also an obstacle. Have you never played the original? Then The Last of Us Part I is definitely for you and you can add a point to it. Have you ever played the original? Then the purchase of at least 70 euros is not worth it and you can deduct one point from it.

7 / 10.0 - The Quarry
Jun 23, 2022

The Quarry takes you to Hackett's Quarry where a number of young camp leaders must try to survive the night. The necessary horror clichés fly around your ears and you can make many choices to let the group survive or not. Still, the game gives you the feeling that sometimes it doesn't matter which choice you make, because the most important choice is made at the end. It is only important to know who is and who is not still alive at that moment. Despite some minor glitches, The Quarry is a fun game to play with friends, on the couch or online in a couple of weeks.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a real-time strategy game where you have to think hard about your choices. The story isn't Oscar-worthy, but it's still compelling enough to enjoy Aliens: Dark Descent. You have to be a real fan of the movies and this genre game, otherwise you will get bored quickly.

We Were Here Forever does exactly what its previous three predecessors have done: immerse you in complex puzzles and lots of communication. Together with someone else you have to unravel the secrets of Castle Rock. We Were Here Forever looks better and this time crossplay is also possible. The puzzles are challenging again and working together has never been more fun and frustrating at the same time. Some hiccups here and there and a somewhat negligible story. Still, you will mainly play We Were Here Forever for the challenge.

The Callisto Protocol tries to feel like a horrogame from the very first moment, but lacks a bit of that suspense that you can find elsewhere. It all looks nice and rancid and it also plays well. The limited number of items you can take with you and not knowing whether you are closing yourself off from an area is less. Nevertheless, The Callisto Protocol provides a lot of hours of play, but it will not rank with games like Dead Space and Resident Evil.

Dawn of Ragnarok is an interesting expansion that follows the events of Ragnarok, an interesting period in Norse mythology. The dwarf kingdom, Svartalfheim, is large and there is much to experience. However, what you experience there is old fashioned and therefore already recognizable. That's a shame because it does take you out of the flow. The world is otherwise beautiful and it remains an interesting take on Norse mythology.

We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is a fun excursion for people who find the We Were Here series quite challenging. The puzzles are more accessible and you get just as much fun out of them. It's easy to complete in an afternoon and you can keep playing the puzzles until you get gold. An additional advantage is that We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is also free for a month. So what are you waiting for?
