Witcheye is one of those games that lives and dies on how much you love its quirk. The controls take some getting used to, and it is frustrating to see yourself miss on some easy gems while you're learning things. Once you get everything down, you'll find the game to be pretty short but very enjoyable. Considering how cheap the title is, fans of non-traditional platformers shouldn't be afraid to try Witcheye.

With Witcheye's original gameplay and striking monsters, you'll have to keep your eyes peeled for new ways to overcome each challenge. With a fairly short runtime, this game is great for flying through on a lazy afternoon, or coming back to if you want to 100% the game.

Moon Kid's Witcheye is a very fun, unique twist on the platformer genre, but it could also be described as a one-trick pony. Based around a single gimmick, the gameplay gradually wears thin over the course of its brief length. And truth be told, the unique controls won't be everyone's cup of tea. However, Witcheye is still a very solid recommendation if you're seeking a kid-friendly, Halloween-themed game to play this October.

All in all, Witcheye is a cute little platformer. Its movement mechanic can be a little annoying at times, but overall it is a nice change of pace from what you would expect from others in the genre. Though short and simple due to its mobile origins, there's a lot of extra content to unlock to add to the replayability if you feel inclined to keep going. Even if you don't though, for the price, Witcheye could certainly do a lot worse.

Witcheye is fun, and it’s cute, and it’s got some great visuals and a cool control system. I think it’s the perfect game to vibe to something else with, which is a type of experience that everyone with a short attention span like me needs.

Witcheye is charming, fun and a great time waster. The game is easy to pick up, but hard to master. There's plenty of variety and replayability to keep the player hooked. Though it is a mobile port and suffers from some typical mobile port issues, such as large UI.

Witcheye is a quirky platformer with an innovative movement system, and it's well worth playing if you're after a fresh, bite-size handheld-focused experience. Removed from its mobile context, however, it doesn't quite have the necessary tactile appeal to overcome the game's relative lack of depth. Fun as it is, this is one mobile port that doesn't feel perfectly at home on Switch.

While the game wasn’t too difficult at times, the chase of being a completionist will certainly have a ton of replay value. The level design is simple but brings a certain difficulty with trying to control a bouncing eye. With a price point of $4.99, you absolutely can’t go wrong with this purchase. For retro platformer fans, this is an absolute must buy. It’s a game you can play for a few hours, or just knock out a few levels. It’s a fun game that can be enjoyed by gamers of all ages. Who knows, maybe after reading this review, the game will really catch your ‘eye’.

While Witcheye did not blow me away with its simple mechanics or lack of challenge, it was a rather fun distraction between the more complex time sinks in my collection.

Simply put, Witcheye is a very cleverly created game about role-reversal, and what could potentially happen after seeing the credit roll and the quintessential “The End” at the conclusion of a game. Although I do think that more could have been done to enhance certain aspects of the game—namely in terms of level build—this bite-sized story of witchy revenge is still worth spending the few bucks that it asks for in exchange for an enjoyable afternoon of gaming.

Witcheye uses an unusual concept in a creative title. Controlling a witch transformed into a floating eye is intuitive, and there are many interesting moments throughout the journey. Combat, in particular, is highlighted because of the diversity of enemies and situations, which resemble small puzzles. The play sessions are agile because of the short stages and the fast pace, but sometimes the simplicity and problems with the controls are annoying. In the end, Witcheye is a brief, unique and fun experience, even if not very memorable.

Witcheye is an eye-popping game in all of those departments, not just as a cheeky pun for closing out a review. If you’re looking for a unique kind of platformer to play, be sure to check it out.

Witcheye is a uniquely fun (and undeniable kooky) adventure that has made the move from mobile devices to the Nintendo Switch smoothly. Sure, it’s not particularly testing and its gameplay mechanics are fairly simple in design, but it does more than enough to entertain across its fifty-plus levels. Admittedly, Witcheye probably won’t blow players way due to its simplicity and it can take a bit of tinkering to get used to its control scheme, but anyone who fancies a quick and quirky romp on their Nintendo Switch will certainly enjoy Mabel’s escapade.

Witcheye is a fun game that will no doubt bring a smile to most gamer’s faces. The controls are a little loose at times but the graphics are gorgeous, the soundtrack is memorable and it made me chuckle with its tongue in cheek humour throughout the experience. I could not help but still be drawn into it. Also, the game is incredibly good value. I highly recommend it, if you’re looking for a coffee game to dip in and out of or you just need something to lift your spirits.

Witcheye feels right at home on the Switch. By no means a revolutionary game, much less a lengthy one, it still features a wide assortment of enemies, sceneries, and secrets to unfold. It would have certainly been a bonafide hit, had it been released back in the SNES days.

There’s no doubt that Witcheye has a certain odd charm to it, with you literally controlling an eyeball that’s inclined to move in straight lines until it rebounds or it stopped or redirected by you directly...
