Hades Reviews
Hades' godly mix of strong narrative and addictive roguelike mechanics makes it an absolute must-have, and one of 2020's best.
Hades is not only one of the best roguelites on the market today, but it's also one of the best games of the year -- if not the best. Supergiant Games, firing on all cylinders, has given us a wealth of content to explore, characters to meet, and challenges to overcome. If you're not a fan of roguelites, this one could easily change your mind.
Surprise and variety mean no two attempts are ever the same, and for that alone Hades is immediately intoxicating.
Hades is a hell of a ride, one of the best roguelikes ever made and surely Supergiant Games best work to date. Don't make excuses and just go and download it, whether on PC or Switch (our preferred choice)

Hades ultimately makes you feel like Zagreus. You are an immortal god sure, but you are young and weak surrounded by ancient powers. Every fight starts a struggle, every new challenge daunting, and facing yet another death as an inconvenience. The game follows each character very nicely, its storyline never stops evolving and advancing which marries beautifully to a tight fast paced action game.
Hades wasn’t even close to being on my radar this year. However, it has managed to drag me into the depths of hell, and it will keep me here for the foreseeable future.
Hades is a really special title. As we play, the impression we have is that Supergiant Games studied the genre and sought to deliver the best roguelike ever made, minimizing the weaknesses of the genre while providing a unique experience. The cast of characters is charismatic; the art direction, with characteristic animations and a vibrant soundtrack, is exquisite; the casting of voice actors is impeccable... and all this is wrapped in a robust package, with a precise and fun combat system, and progression that respects and rewards the player.

Hades throws us into the middle of a family untie, in which the juvenile Priests of the Underworld cringe to know a new world. Supergiant Games offers a packed croissant and one of the most interesting productions of 2020. Play!

One of our favorite games of the year
Hades, even amidst a sea of competition, remains a shining example of a roguelite action RPG done right.
Hades is no less than an absolute masterpiece, easily a contender for Supergiant's finest work yet, and a candidate for the year's best game.
Hades expertly combines an enthralling narrative with fantastic gameplay to raise the bar for the Rogue-lite genre.
The three-pronged combination of satisfying moment-to-moment combat, a plethora of long-term permanent upgrades, and an intricately woven story that seamlessly unfolds make Hades a dangerously enjoyable game.
A very good story with unexpected and unique storytelling, varied gameplay, interesting bosses, a dazzling world and art direction, breathtaking music and details, a satisfying challenge to your playstyle and a test of your skills; are all reasons why Hades is the best and most mature game from Supergiant Games studio, and one of the best Rogue-Like games ever ... and definitely a strong potential for "Game of the Year 2020".

Hades is just all around good. From its tremendous voice acting and intriguing story to its fun combat and insanely addicting gameplay loop, there is little wrong here. Graphically it's a little dated and its difficulty wall will be off-putting to many, but these are about the only major issues. Otherwise, the fun of trying "just one more time" mixed with trying to get all the right power ups in a run is a rare entertaining time. Fans of Rogue-likes owe it to themselves to check this out, especially since it is less than half the price of AAA titles.
Whenever I play a new Supergiant title, I always find myself absolutely enthralled with it, transfixed by its visual allure and engaging gameplay. After playing their second title Transistor, I was convinced that they wouldn't be able to top themselves, but I stand corrected. Hades is a perfect amalgamation of everything that makes Supergiant Games one of the best independent developers out there, with a killer gameplay loop, heartfelt story, and writing that will have you hinging on every single word. This game deserves all the attention it's getting and more, and I implore you to play it for yourself.
In Hades, Supergiant Games has crafted an exemplar of both the action and rogue-lite genres, while pushing narrative in a way that even non-fans can appreciate.
Utilizing the experience gained from its previous projects, Supergiant delivers its best game yet.
