For the Monster Truck fanatics in attendance, those that know the difference between "Hook Up" and "Hooking Clay" or between a "Slap Wheelie" and a "Sky Wheelie", there's going to be something to enjoy in Monster Hunt Championship. But, while there's some fun to be had, the game just feels lacking. The experience is more fitting with arcade-style mechanics compared to the sim-style elements, and by delivering these sim elements it makes the game feel as slow and clunky as the vehicles.

When you’re spinning around on two wheels or slamming into opposing monster trucks, Monster Truck Championship had me feeling like a powerful man in a huge truck. For that, Monster Truck Championship accomplished exactly what it set out to do: let me experience the spectacle. If the trick system looks even remotely interesting to you, the game is absolutely worth a buy.

Monster Truck Championship isn't the worst or the best racing game I've ever played. The frame rate and visuals are good, and the overall presentation and setup are fine. Regardless, whether you are a fan of monster trucks or racing games in general, I would say that it isn't worth the price of $39.99. I can't see myself going back to it since the controls are dicey and that the game itself is average and forgettable.

Monster Truck Championship is alright, I think it’s a decent foundation that could be built upon towards stronger follow-ups. I was fairly impressed by the visual style, and the customization.

I don’t think I would have considered Monster Truck Championship such a disappointment if it wasn’t for the fact that Monster Jam Steel Titans exists. That game is simply superior in every single aspect, be it in terms of visuals, sound, controls, and overall content. Monster Truck Championship would have been a recommended title for monster truck enthusiasts if it wasn’t for the existence of its much superior main competitor.

Monster Truck Championship bravely tries something new and very nearly succeeds. The movement of the trucks is difficult at first, yet ultimately rewarding, but what's built around the driving is sparse and unimaginative. I could see this developing into a fun sequel that rewards patience, but this first effort is a little rough around the edges.

Monster Truck Championship is a title that aims at a certain type of passionate audience of the genre that manages to entertain for a few hours even if after some time it could be repetitive due to the few possibilities made available to the user even counting a low level of difficulty.

Monster Truck Championship offers decent and enjoyable gameplay, but some overarching flaws muddy the overall experience.

For the first time in years, Monster Truck fans actually have a game worth picking up in Monster Truck Championship. There’s just no depth outside of Career Mode.

And so it was with gusto I took on the opportunity to crank up my big-person points by reviewing Monster Truck Championship from developer Teyon and publishers BIGBEN INTERACTIVE and Nacon.

Though other Monster Truck titles in the past have gone bigger with the theatrics familiar to motorsport fans, Monster Truck Championship simulates the experience very well. Considering the polish of this title, I can see it getting the sequel treatment in due time. I would recommend this motorsport game to anyone who likes monster trucks and/or Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. While I’m excited to see the return of live motorsport events. Monster Truck Championship does a great job of putting me in the driver’s seat until then.

Monster Truck Championships da lo que promete diversión absurda y sin cortapisas, como su homónimo real, y este humilde servidor es justo lo que necesita.

Monster Truck Championship is one of the best experiences of its kind. Although this aspect is not significant, as there is that much competition, the title presents a gameplay that is fun and realistic enough to please a wide range of players. However, we could not find justifications for those who already have the title of Playstation 4 or Xbox One, to buy this new version.

Monster Truck Championship is a relatively new entry in the racing sim genre. While we’ve had monster truck games in the past across a bevy of platforms, Monster Truck Championship prides itself by being a racing sim to the core in order to offer racing and monster truck fans a (virtual) realistic experience of driving a big ol’ monster truck. So how does this racer stack up? Let’s find out!

Monster Truck Championship doesn’t take as much advantage of the next-gen consoles as I’d have liked, but it still offers a fun racing experience that fans of monster trucks are sure to enjoy. There’s a satisfying sense of progress to the career, the different race types are fun, whilst there’s online multiplayer on offer for those who want their muddy showdowns to take place against real-life players. It might not have the depth seen in similar titles in the genre, but there’s still plenty here to enjoy as you work to become the BEST monster truck driver around; just expect more style that substance when it comes to the game’s next-gen improvements.

Teyon’s Monster Truck Championship succeeds as a result of its excellent handling model, which makes every race and every event a fun experience, free of the frustration that more sim-style racers can often elicit. Whilst it features a somewhat sparse range of modes, meaning you’re unlikely to stick with it long-term, it’s a really good arcade-style game that you can chuck on for 20-30 minutes every so often and pretty much be guaranteed an enjoyable time.

But what really sells Monster Truck Championship is its uniqueness. Never before has the act of competing in a monster truck been so authentically represented, from thunderous circuit races to flashy freestyle events. It’s not perfect, but racing fans will have probably never played anything quite like it.

Monster Truck Championship makes a case for the most impressive monster truck simulator on the market, but its lack of content hinders its longevity.

Monster Truck Championship is the best monster truck game to be released. The lackluster presentation and technical hiccups hold it from being great. The driving and stunt controls are solid, even if they take some practice. Short draw distance causes frequent pop-ups during races. There's no music during races, and the crowd is completely silent most of the time. It doesn't take that long to make your way through all 30 of the career events, and in the process, earn millions of dollars. Some appearance parts can cost a pretty penny, so you'll need to replay events to unlock everything.

For those new to the series though the game is packed with content. While there are no licensed trucks the customization is fantastic. There are plenty of courses to race on and the variation of modes is great. I do wish this upgrade came with more to offer than just a resolution bump that is negligible. I also feel like the original game could have run at 60fps on One X, so again without Smart Delivery this feels like a minimal update at best.
