Overall, Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues hits home with me and I am sure it will hit home with the other lovers of the Karate Kid universe. The show on Netflix has been amazing and this game is amazing as well. The music and mechanics are great and give you a real feel for the 80's nostalgia trip. Currently, it is listed on the PlayStation Store, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $39.99 USD and on Steam for $19.99 USD. Crane-kick your way into this title.
Yes, a baffling surprise that will have fans confused on how entertaining this game is. It’s no Mortal Kombat, nor is it a River City Girls, but Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues does demonstrate heart in its barefaced approach. Remember, “You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.”
The Cobra Kai video game is definitely not the best around, but it brings honor to a classic genre that keeps fighting.
Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga is a very nostalgic game, but not in the way you might think. It's not that it's a beat 'em up, nor that it's based on an ageing franchise, or even because it looks like it should be able to run on a Sega Saturn. No, it's nostalgic because this a licensed video game that is fairly terrible, using its branding as a smokescreen to hide a multitude of problems from an unwitting buyer until it's far too late. It's just like the good old days. If this was 1991 then Cobra Kai would have been published by Ocean Software.
Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is a pretty average overall all beat-‘em-up game with lackluster presentation that gets an assist from varied characters, a split narrative that encourages replay and a solid sense of RPG-lite progression kept me going longer than I probably would have otherwise. There’s a decent brawler here that fans of the Karate Kid property will probably enjoy, but I do hope a future patch can smooth out some of those rough edges in the core combat.

That a successful series such as Cobra Kai has not ended up being a game of chess or basketball between the two rival dojos, is what anyone would expect. That it has a powerful RPG component is already a bit more surprising. A technically fair beat'em up, too repetitive and too long. But also, forceful, with an excellent rhythm and distributing wax, polishing wax by hand. The series moves decently into a fun game, even with a debatable and improvable approach.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues might look like a lazy cash-in, but in reality, it's a strong effort that breezes through the cheesiness of its license by making said honking gorgonzola work for it with its brilliantly evocative '80s soundtrack paired with a cheeky, silly style to match its cheeky, silly gameplay. With no shortage of levels, plenty of playable characters and respective upgrades, Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues goes above and beyond the standards set by licensed games. Grab a friend and wax on, wax off. (Actually, that sounds a bit rude.)
Cobra Kai is an entertaining beat 'em up, colorful and faithful to the original, and also incredibly rewarding in co-op. It does, however, suffer from some annoying technical issues.

Cobra Kai is a fun game that falls victim to a lot of the genre’s downsides. I enjoyed it for what it was, but have a hard time recommending it mostly due to the $40 point of entry. The game has enough content, but it drags at times. This leads to a game that would have been an easy win if it was priced a little lower. I understand why with having the actors portray their roles, but this game could have done better with soundalikes and a lower price point.
Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues proves to be an excellent option for those who enjoy the good old beat ‘em up genre. Up to two players locally will have an extensive campaign ahead, a well-designed character progression system, and a fun and fluid combat mechanic. Those who liked Cobra Kai will find a series of references to the universe of Karate Kid. The title also features the voice of some of the original cast, such as Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Jacob Bertrand, among others, increasing immersion and fan service for the public.

It’s a faithful rendition of the hit series, translated properly in arcade format with a few twists of its own. It boasts good graphics, excellent voice acting, easy controls, and most importantly, couch co-op.
Some minor flaws aside, Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is one of the best beat-em-up's out there, easily surpasses Raging Justice and I think can rightly be proud to call itself the second-best beat-em-up on the PS4. The Johnny Lawrence of the gaming world.

There are qualities, such as a big progression system, good humor and a wide variety of characters and special movements, but those who are not fans of the genre or the franchise will find few attractions here compared to similar games on the market.

Despite the litany of technical issues I just outlined, this quirky licensed brawler is one of my favorite games I have played all year. Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues delivers a satisfying combination of engaging beat 'em up gameplay, authenticity to the TV series, and preposterous humor that results in an experience unlike any other on Nintendo Switch. "Cobra Kai never dies" thanks to bonkers extensions of the IP such as what Flux Games has produced here.
While the game’s mechanics were great on their own and provided some enjoyable moments, they weren’t enough to fully make this game stand out.

Still, if you’re a massive Cobra Kai fan, you’ll find enough good here for it to provide you with some hours of entertainment. It’s just not quite the game that it could have been. Thanks to Streets of Rage 4, the side-scrolling beat ’em up bar has been raised this year, and while Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is a fuller, more feature-packed entry in the genre, its core gameplay isn’t quite up to scratch. Maybe it’ll get patched and fulfil its potential? Until then, it’s an experience that most will find annoyingly mediocre.
Cobra Kai is a decent little beat 'em up that offers up a surprising level of depth. Decent animation and voice acting help to deliver a game that compliments the TV show it is based on nicely, and fans of the genre will love the old skool callbacks and references that the game delivers.
