Destropolis entertains with stages brimming with projectiles and chaos. The action is frantic and exciting, thanks to lots of weapons, skills and intense challenge, especially in the company of friends. However, the absence of other modes, shallow mechanics and limited variety of situations makes the experience repetitive in a short time. In the end, the game is a good option for quick and uncompromised fun, but nothing more.

As a simple twin-stick score-chaser, Destropolis gets the job done but its more annoying aspects will make you scratch your head.

I had a blast during my time spent with Destropolis. However, chances are it’s probably not the type of game that will keep you glued to your Switch for hours. With only one mode available, things do get repetitive fairly quickly. Still, the game features co-op for up to three players. So if you have a handful of friends to bust some blocks with, it’s a delightfully chaotic way to kill a half-hour or so. But after that, you’ll probably want to move onto something a bit more substantive.

As a big fan of arcade-style twin-stick shooting I can also be a pretty brutal critic when games fail to stand up well against some outright excellent titles currently in the space...
