If you want to investigate a mystery by exploring a beautiful location and solving puzzles whilst also learning about Polynesian culture this is a good place to do just that. I have played numerous games of this type over the years and this is another that I really enjoyed. I certainly felt a sense of achievement at the game’s conclusion. With sumptuous visuals, a gorgeous soundtrack and some very clever puzzles, you’d be wise to check this game out on Game Pass or via Steam.

Call of the Sea is a puzzle adventure that should be played by all fans of the genre. Its writing and environments are strikingly immersive as the player and Norah find themselves traveling deeper down this rabbit hole of mystery. There are moments of confusion in its design, but all the tools are present to explore this beautifully charming adventure; my only wish is that it was longer.

Call of the Sea is a phenomenal adventure title set on a charming island that invites exploration. Besides that, the story combines Norah's mystery and personal drama in a thought-provoking way. All other elements are also very well executed, making the game an excellent example of its genre.

Call of the Sea fascinates thanks to great environments and an intriguing story, helped by a good narrative and puzzle structure. Some puzzles feel a bit too cryptic and the story could have expanded more especially towards the final hours, but it's definitely a game to try and a successful debut for developer Out of the Blue.

Call of the Sea is a risky proposal in the videogame industry mixing action, puzzles and a brilliant narrative sequence to create a truly marsterpiece of the puzzle-based videogames.

Call of the Sea has engaging puzzles, fantastic visuals, and a Lovecraftian story about love and sanity that make it unlike any other game from 2020. It's an engrossing puzzle game that’s too beautiful to pass up.

Call of the Sea wasn’t quite what I expected, but that’s not a bad thing. It surprised me in a lot of ways. While the ending was easy to guess early on, the writing for the rest of the story was so strong that I still found it compelling.

Fitting for this studio’s name, Out of the Blue's puzzle-adventure debut resonates due to its mechanical challenge and atypical approach to Lovecraftian fiction.

If you are looking for an interesting title that allows you to play at your own pace, and lose yourself in the beautiful world it’s set in, then look no further than this game. A wonderful story with great voice work awaits anybody that wishes to take this on. You won’t be surprised when I recommend that you give this a go! Can you help Norah overcome the variety of puzzles that block her progress? Will you be able rescue her “old pal”, and in the process save herself? Take on this adventure and see for yourself.

Call of the Sea looks like a blend of a walking sim game with puzzle aspects, that in general will satisfy your appetite if you're a veteran of games like Myst and Riven. In no way this game is intended for casual gamers because the lack of guidance and sense of ambiguity will get on your nerves. These Lovecraftian moments and aspects of the story are incorporated in a fantastic manner through the game. In the end, It doesn't have to be groundbreaking for something to be satisfying and unique and that's exactly what it is.

Call of the Sea is one of the best puzzle-adventure games I’ve ever played. Each puzzle requires you to think logically and gather all the clues to figure out the solution, you’re rewarded with a trophy and more context to the story for exploring and finding documents, and your eyes are given a treat by looking at this visually stunning game. This is the first time I’ve played a Lovecraft-inspired game that isn’t focused on horror, jump scares, or disturbing themes, instead it’s a peaceful adventure that uses the influences perfectly to create a very interesting and memorable experience.

Call of the Sea certainly isn't an experience meant for long winter nights. However, in its few hours of playtime it presents a well-written story full of mysteries, which are gradually discovered by the player. Moreover, the title has astounding graphics and music, which is a treat worth listening to after finishing the game. If you're a fan of adventure games, this is a title that you must play!

With its clever puzzle design and stunning visuals, Call of the Sea stands out as one of the more impressive puzzle-adventures that I’ve played. I had a good time solving its strong variety of enigmas, whilst the intriguing narrative kept me invested too – especially with all of the documents and recordings you can find which flesh out the tale. There were some overly elaborate puzzles that could break the pace of the experience and there were some minor annoyances to be found with some aspect of the game’s design, but Call of the Sea is otherwise a very entertaining experience that kept me hooked in from start to end.

Call of the Sea is a relatively short game, coming in at around 5-6 hours playtime, but it does seem to drag on a little towards the end as the puzzles become more and more complex. The story is a captivating mystery romance, in which Lovecraftian twists and turns keep you more than engaged. Fantastic world building and stellar voice acting allow it to stand out amongst other puzzle games, but clunky mechanics and overly complex puzzles prevent it from being a truly great experience.
