EVERSPACE 2 Reviews
Everspace 2 is a great starfighter game that does plenty of things right and nothing wrong. Fans of the genre will find a new home in this title, and those who disliked the roguelike features in the original Everspace will certainly have a better time in the sequel.
With fast paced frenetic combat, a story that keeps you guessing, and enough interlocked systems to bring it all together in a way the first game never could, Everspace 2 is the best space game I've played in a very long time. Rockfish reached for the stars, and damn if they didn't catch 'em!
If you’re looking for another space-themed adventure game, do yourself a favor and check out Everspace 2. Jump into a new ship as Adam, the clone pilot, and soar among the stars of cluster 34. Take on as many jobs or as few as you wish, and find a place in the ocean of stars to call home.
Everspace 2 presents a whole galaxy to unlock and explore, or the ability to just fly around and cause mischief. Either is great fun.
Everspace 2 on console is the best way to enjoy Rockfish's epic space sim RPG, with so much to do and tight and fluid controls that make combat thrilling every time.
Everspace 2 has a substantial story, solid flight and combat mechanics, and incredibly addictive, satisfying action. If looter/shooter and space combat don’t seem compatible, Everspace 2 proves they can work together quite well. The narrative, breathless arcade space battles, and deep customization keep Everspace 2 engaging for its full running time and beyond.
Lately, the gaming landscape has seen a constant stream of open world action-rpgs that feel vapid and bloated and that might as well have all come from the same mold. This isn't Everspace 2's case, however. Rockfish's game builds and improves upon the achievements of its predecessor, delivering an incredibly entertaining combat, beautiful vistas, and plenty of content, managing to bring a much-needed breath of fresh air in an over-crowded genre.

It speaks to the level of ambition on display here - not to mention a tolerance for risk - that Everspace 2 essentially jettisons the roguelike mechanics of the first game in favour of a much more open and looter focused shooter and is all the better for it. A superior sequel in every way, Everspace 2 delivers on the premise hinted at in its predecessor with aplomb, even if the story campaign that anchors its super looter shooter beats seems to be little more than window dressing for the other impeccable aspects of its design.
Everspace 2 is an excellent game filled to the brim with content. Regardless of your genre of choice, Everspace 2 will definitely have something for you, from a fun, lengthy story, to intense space combat, to an endgame fueled by the hunt for better loot.
Everspace 2 tells an interesting story in a massive galaxy that's worth exploring, even if the limitations of its scope creep in from time to time.
Rare is the sequel that shifts genre from its predecessor, and rarer still is the sequel that lands said shift in a successful and seamless way, but this is exactly the case with Everspace 2. It’s packed to the nines with twitch shooting to keep you engaged, a satisfying loot grind bolstered by diverse item choices, a gorgeous rendition of space to zoom through, and a sizable amount of unique content. Moreover, it’s all wrapped up in a well-executed (if somewhat familiar) science fiction narrative. There’s certainly a blemish or two—chiefly the title’s struggle to pace non-combat sections—but Everspace 2 provides so much of a good thing that it’s hard to mind.
Some fans will surely miss the roguelike structure of the original, but for fans looking to further explore its world or to spend more time in the game’s splendid combat, Everspace 2 delivers in spades.
With a clear idea of what it is and what it wants to do, EVERSPACE 2 is an action RPG in space that ticks all the boxes. Offering a satisfying loot system and engaging combat, ROCKFISH have delivered a space shooter that's as nice to look at as it is to play.
EVERSPACE 2 makes its appearance on next-generation consoles. The change in the game mechanics in this second installment to the detriment of the roguelike mechanics of the first game have given a clearly superior result, without detracting from the first installment. We have an addictive space shooter looter that without lacking some complexity, offers quite accessible arcade handling for any type of player. And if this still doesn't convince you, the audiovisual section will end up convincing you: Space has never been so beautiful.

Everspace 2 has a solid narrative, great arcade-style flight and combat mechanics, and an addictive explore, loot, and fight gameplay loop. That was true on the PC and it’s just as true on consoles. Everspace 2 is proof that an unexpected genre mashup like looter/shooter and space combat can play nicely together.
Open world spaceship sim with role playing elements.
Shooting, looting and RPGing in space has rarely been this good.
Everspace II is a great trip to the stars and planets, where your spaceship really has a lot of uses. It manifests itself in combat, when completing tasks (sometimes with puzzle elements) and developing the story. It is massive, fun, you will spend dozens of hours exploring the corners of the universe.

Changing its style of play from what it was previously, EVERSPACE 2 delivers much more freedom to the player and improvements to the great gameplay it has. It still falls short in delivering a simplified and uninspired story and narrative, but it excels at good combat and exploration.
