Metro Exodus: Complete Edition can cut both ways, and while it's appealing to some of the older fans of the series, it can't keep everybody happy. The extraordinary atmosphere and the great story however may be enough to give it a try.

Is Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition worth picking up? It absolutely is for the price it’s being sold at. It’s a little over 30 quid/dollars and with the DLC and took me about 20-25 hours to get through with a young puppy in the house. It obviously includes the base game, but also comes with the story DLC that came out with the expansion pass. Both add new narrative beats to the game. But where Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition really lets itself down is the execution of the world it is based in. Sure, crafting an arsenal to butcher hundreds of faceless bandits is fun. But Metro Exodus’ complex post-apocalyptic world has such a deep lore, begging to explored properly. It deserves better than this.

Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition has to be one of the best Next-Gen (Current-Gen?) upgrades to date. It takes full advantage of the newer technology in order to improve visuals, load times and the general game experience. If it weren’t for the inconsistent use of the haptics and adaptive triggers, I would have said it should be the new bar for PS5/Xbox Series upgrades.

The game technically performs tens of times better and smoother than the eighth-generation versions, and thanks to Ray Tracing, the game's apparent quality is fantastic.

Metro Exodus: Complete Edition gives us rare example of fully fledged ray tracing technology on console systems. It's a competent update that really changes the overall look of the game.

‎Metro Exodus is a worthy successor to the previous installments, which introduces new mechanics, and improves on those already seen in previous titles. Even with some glitches, it's an excellent game to debut the new generation.‎

Metro Exodus shows some heart, and it's clear the developers have poured a lot into this third chapter of Artyom's story. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that keep the game from hitting the standard set by its predecessors. Pacing is hamstrung by the ambitious misfire of an 'open-world', while performance issues and glitches mar much of Exodus.

The end result is a vastly improved version of what is by far the best title set in Dmitry Glukhovsky’s apocalyptic Russia – even if the voice work, in English at least, is uneven to put it kindly.

Metro Exodus on PS5 is one of the best survival wastelands to explore on the new console. With enhanced textures, stunning ray-tracing and global illumination, and immersive DualSense implementation, what is on offer here is an experience like no other. If you skipped it on PS4 or want to play again, there is ample enhancements here that make the Moscow Wasteland worth exploring all over again.

Metro Exodus Complete Edition not only runs at 4K 60 FPS for PS5 and Series X. The game shows great lightning effects (ray traced), new high resolution textures... and it is still a great single player, story driven FPS.

Although 2019 didn’t quite peg the games-quality meter as much as the prior year, it did have its share of standout titles, Metro: Exodus included. The game sold enough to spawn some excellent DLC as well. For anyone who missed Metro: Exodus in its original release and can scale the graphics card barrier to entry, the Enhanced Edition is definitely a must-buy. Thankfully players without the requisite gear can still enjoy the game’s other, less major, improvements and fixes too.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Editions feels like one of the very few games that take fully advantage of the ray tracing tech – for better or worse. There are some changes that might completely change the mood of a scene and sometimes it works best on its DLCs. Even so, if you have the power to run it on ultra, its not only one of the best-looking games on PC, but also an amazing shooter.
