Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a rather successful sequel to its big brother in addition to bringing some improvements to a more sophisticated enclosure management system or the addition of scientists. Not to mention the full integration of aviaries or ponds to add dinosaurs. However, the single-player campaign, which is certainly more immersive, is far too short for a game marketed at the same price as AAA or almost. The absence of a tutorial is also problematic especially for new players to the franchise who will have to themselves and via the Chaos Theory mode discover the intricacies of this management game.

If the first chapter of the series represented a novelty and a small gem in the managerial games universe, this sequel expands and enriches the experience but it loses the opportunity to deepen the management component. It is an evolution of the first chapter, with new content and modes, but without adding substantial new features to the game formula.

Despite its shortcomings, it's very pleasant, and Ian Malcolm would approve of this park.

The evolution is noticeable - Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a better game than its predecessor. The gameplay is more complex, the graphics are nicer, there are new game modes, and some of the changes show that the developer has really listened to the community. There are still ways to go, but the direction is good.

Highly recommended for fans of Spielberg's films and, of course, for dinosaur lovers. But if you're looking for a game that really tests your management multitasking skills, I recommend looking for a more genre-specific title.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a visually gorgeous game marred by a very bad case of micromanagement excess. Dinosaurs are great, there is a lot of content and the overall idea is very good, but there is just to much busywork being forced upon the player to enjoy the experience fully.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is by no means perfect. It pales in comparison to some of the other sim type games with its lack of options in certain aspects, however, if you are looking to have a more casual - yet still challenging - sim experience, and you want that Jurassic Park theme, then you shouldn't think twice about picking this up.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 offers the perfect escape to sink hours of your time into as you try and do what Dr. Hammond couldn’t. Whatever your playing style, there’s a mode to suit, worlds to explore, and dinosaurs to hatch. After all, life finds a way.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is an improved version of the first installment, eliminating the worst parts of micromanagement, and adding new scenarios and dinosaurs. If you liked the aspect related to the care of the animals of the first one, you are going to like this one much more. Now, if you were disappointed with the little management that exists in that game, you are going to continue the same with this one.

Despite having many of the same issues as its predecessor, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is still an enjoyable dino simulator that's easy to jump into.

Building on the immense foundations of the original, Jurassic World Evolution 2 provides more of the same addictive management gameplay with the thrill of seeing the prehistoric reptiles in all their glory. The new additions are light and there’s still some minor issues, but it’s all forgotten as you behold a T-Rex emerging from the shadows for the first time.

There’s still room for improvement, a Jurassic World Evolution 1.999 by my calculations, but even with its issues, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a fantastic sim game that’ll have you coming back for more, even when you’ve exhausted its campaign and Chaos Theory mode. It’s an absolute must if you’ve got the remotest interest in Jurassic Park, dinosaurs or unleashing nightmarish giant lizards upon an unsuspecting public.

The Early Cretaceous pack isn't as vital as the free update is, but more dinosaurs is always a good thing when recreating your ideal prehistoric park. While the DLC may be light on new features, the inclusion of both a new flying reptile and a new sea critter enhance the otherwise smaller selection of these beasts, especially when compared to their land-dwelling counterparts. The two ground dinosaurs added with the pack are also fantastic additions in their own right, especially the adorable Minmi. The game has a fantastic community management team with Frontier who actively listen to their fanbase, so no doubt the future of Jurassic World Evolution 2 is solidified, thanks to the encouraging signs that the Early Cretaceous pack offers.

There's still some way to go to make the JWE franchise a viable management sim, but this sequel goes a long way to right a lot of its predecessor's wrongs.

While it doesn't go crazy, Jurassic World Evolution 2 has almost perfected dinosaur-theme-park managers. Just ignore the weird voices and occasional bugs.

While Jurassic World Evolution marked a rock-solid dry run for Frontier's prehistoric theme park management sim, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a meaningful, erm, evolution, with the new Chaos Theory mode providing engaging scenarios in which you can attempt to set things right. A diverse suite of modes and slick interfaces ensures Jurassic World Evolution 2's status as an excellent sequel.

The second incarnation of the Jurassic World Evolution series is undoubtedly a clear step forward compared to its predecessor. The end result is a revised and corrected version of a formula that overall continues to work quite well and that we think can satisfy fans of the saga. The game is elaborate but not particularly challenging, and could certainly represent a more than satisfying pastime, as long as you overlook some small flaws that afflict its playful structure.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 does not reinvent the formula but greatly improves it by inflating its content and management options.
