Diablo II: Resurrected looks stunning, and plays exactly like you may remember it. That’s both a good and a bad thing, depending on how you look at it. Loyal fans will appreciate the love and detail that has gone into this visual overhaul – especially with the cinematics – while hardcore fans will cry afoul for the missing LAN mode and yet to be launched ladder mode. New players may initially be tempted to try out Diablo II: Resurrected, but its unforgiving gameplay compared to the relaxed Diablo III will not have them playing for very long. Blizzard did an excellent job of bringing Diablo II to modern PCs and consoles, but a new lick of paint might not be enough to get people to play for very long.

Just like the original from over two decades ago, Diablo II: Resurrected proves to be another great outing from the folks at Vicarious Visions. Not only were they able to keep the charm and feel of the original game intact, but they also introduced very sensible upgrades that fully realize the vision of Diablo II.

Should you buy Diablo 2: Resurrected and give this old-school action RPG a go? Yes you should, because this is the definitive version of the game, thanks to the redone graphics and lovely controller support that really feels so intuitive and natural.

Vicarious Visions stays with Diablo 2: Resurrected very true to the original release, which brings more problems than positive aspects. The new graphics in the cutscenes and character models are amazing and also the controller support works surpringsly well on all platforms. Sadly some relics of the past, server problems and a lof of missed chances in terms of multiplayer-features hold the title back a lot more than it should have been.

In the best moments it is very good and the atmosphere that Diablo 2: Resurrected provides, trumps most games, unfortunately the gameplay is already a little outdated, not very dynamic and old equipment solutions can be tiring. Certainly, some players will bounce back from archaisms, and those who will not be bothered by them will have the opportunity to taste one of the best games in history.

Even with its issues, Diablo II: Resurrected is still a very fun time and will take you back to 2000. There is still the addicting urge to keep going and find more loot, better armor, and learn more skills, and being able to play it with this generation’s graphics is the icing on the cake.

Overall, Diablo II: Resurrected is back and stronger than ever, reuniting veterans to the game they loved and introducing the new players to this dearly beloved game. I recommend this for all players who has played Diablo III or for those who have been dreaming of playing this game again in our current technology.

Blizzard had to strike a careful balance of changing just enough, but not too much, which is no easy feat. Though in a lot of ways it feels like unearthing a relic like that in which you find during your dungeon-crawling exploits. Its dated design is solved by its sequel or other games within the action RPG genre. Diablo II: Resurrected has the same deep customization it’s known for. In addition, the new visuals modernize it for both PC and consoles. No matter where you play, this is the best version of the classic dungeon crawler. This remaster made in such a way to ensure that Diablo II: Resurrected is played for the next 20 plus years.

Diablo 2: Resurrected is the definitive experience of the title, improving just enough to further enhance the masterpiece that it already was. We have before us a graphically polished game that has nothing to envy of new generation titles. We will enjoy hours more than enough with the main campaign, with the expansion and repeating the game over and over again to be able to try all the classes that we have available. It is a must have in your collection despite the fact that we do not find any substantial playable improvement in relation to the original game.

Diablo II Resurrected required far more than a new coat of paint to be a better game on today's platforms, but it is still a must-play classic.

Diablo II is not a walk in the park, as it encourages grinding, it’s very punishing when you die, and it doesn’t hold your hand. But if you manage to get past this, it’s still one of the most important titles in the series, making Diablo II: Resurrected a must-buy for old-time fans.

There’s still a little bit of magic left in the Diablo 2 bottle to make Resurrected a worthwhile adventure, even for players who have been consistently going through the original game every so often with friends or by themselves. Resurrected gives a good amount of life to a game many may have only heard about but never went out of their way to try.

"Old but not obsolete", as the Terminator used to tell us. And if it works for him, it works perfectly to sum up what Diablo II: Resurrected has to offer. The classic Diablo II but not the version with more than twenty years behind it, but the construct of years and patches to expand and improve it, with a simply exquisite layer of varnish. A huge job in its time and years of evolution, although it does not reach the benefits and options that the genre that practically inaugurated this saga has been following, and other edges such as post-game or online themes. But there is residue, a lot of residue, and good. Diablo II continues to be played sickly well, on top of that well adapted to the pad and consoles, with an exquisite visual setting. LONG LIVE DEVIL!

Awaited for years, Diablo II: Ressurected brings the adaptation of a classic work to the present day without its original essence being lost in the process. The visual and sound conversion deserves praise, and the ability to instantly switch between original and remastered visuals is the definitive addition in a complete, coherent package, capable of pleasing both veterans and newcomers to the series. When venturing against evil again, it is clear that some points could be reworked, such as movement and inventory. But the truth is, even its downsides can be lightened with a little patience — just keep in mind that in the 2000s, some things were a little different in the gaming world, for better and for worse.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Diablo II Resurrected is essentially the same game but with minimal gameplay changes such as the shared stash and auto-loot. The addition of the Lord of Destruction expansion is also quite welcome. The graphical overhaul it has been given is phenomenal. I think once the connectivity issues are sorted out then it will be the complete package and players will not be disappointed. This will definitely scratch the itch of fans until the next instalment. I give Diablo II Resurrected the Thumb Culture Gold Award.
