F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch Reviews
F.I.S.T Forged in Shadow Torch delivered all the elements of the metroidvania genre with a high standard, as well as a combat system that was both challenging and satisfying, but what was hindering the experience of the game was the linearity and the way the game progressed in the first third of the game.

An engaging 2.5D platforming adventure with rich visuals and furry creatures, F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch has all of the right ingredients you'd expect from any good metroidvania, as well as a few tricks of its own. It's certainly one of the most enjoyable games featuring a rabbit with a huge metal fist I've ever played.
A well-made, beautiful action focused Metroidvania. The combat starts off slow but when it clicks it is excellent. The traversal and platforming are top-notch, and even though I’m not too much of a furry I grew to enjoy the characters and story quickly.
The detailed combination of levels, the shortcuts that are unlocked by using upgrades and the battles that break the "monotony" of exploration give the game a character that definitely makes it stand out in the metroidvania universe out there.

Metroidvania fans should be thrilled to have another viable indie contender in the space to enjoy, even if it has some flaws
F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch doesn't offer anything innovative, but it's so well made you won't mind.

An excellent Metroidvania adventure with intense combat, rewarding exploration and a visually immersive dieselpunk world.
With the inclusion of a new difficulty option, F.I.S.T. Forged in Shadow Torch brings challenging combat and atmospheric world to more players resulting in an amazing example of the genre.
FIST has come pounding on the door with his big mechanical fist.

F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch isn't about to revolutionize the genre or set a new standard, but the guys at TiGames have been able to make an appropriate mix of flavors and perfectly meet the necessary standards to offer us a game that is quite worthy of our attention.

The arrival of F.I.S.T. Forged in Shadow Torch in physical format is great news for collectors and fans of metroidvania: it is still a great adventure, with interesting ideas, a solid combat system and an attractive staging... although on Nintendo Switch it is somewhat less sharp and spectacular.

F.I.S.T: Forged in Shadow Torch is a great Metroidvania, that does everything it needs to very well without re-inventing the formula.
F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch is an excellent story-driven, combat-heavy Metroidvania. But the Nintendo Switch version is the worst version available. If the Switch is your only option to play the game on, it’s a great game at its core. But if you have access to either PlayStation, or a PC, their visual and performance quality greatly outweigh the Switch’s portability option.
Despite some unnecessary padding and a combat system that takes a little too long to get into full swing, F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch is a compelling and thrilling journey from beginning to end. A stunning world, engaging narrative, and rewarding exploration all combine to create one of the most immersive experiences to grace the genre in quite some time.
F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch is a very solid “metroidvania”; one that anyone who enjoyed Metroid Dread, would find it worth their time. It is not as perfectly polished as Dread, but it makes up for it with its amazing visuals and setting.
F.I.S.T remains an excellent action adventure on the Nintendo Switch and an unmissable experience for fans of the genre.
Although we may sound quite negative when discussing the game, FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch really is worth playing; it just has so much potential that it doesn't quite reach. It rides on the cusp of greatness so often, while not quite making it over the hurdle. We can't wait to play a sequel because if it was iterated on, FIST could be something really special. Sadly, due to the technical issues associated with this Switch version such as the unbearably long load times, it's let down even further. Overall, a promising foundation that we hope leads to better things in the future.
is a fun ride. Contrary to the aforementioned buzz, though, truth be told, it isn't quite at the same level of Metroid Dread (but what is?). This team is clearly onto something, though, and I wouldn't be surprised if their next effort in this space gives Samus a real run for her money.
The solid quality of F.I.S.T. is worth the sacrifice of some graphic performance to get it into the Nintendo Switch that you carry around.
