Franchise fans should be psyched to get the two Great Ace Attorney games, and in a polished package. It won’t change your mind about these titles one way or the other, unless you have a strong feeling about the period-piece setting. But it does what it sets out to do.

Packed with colorful characters and quirky storytelling, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles should feel comfortably familiar to longtime franchise fans. Newcomers, however, might be put off by the dialogue-heavy experience.
The humour is thankfully intact, but the mysteries grow as ornate and heavily threaded as Sholmes’s overcoat.

The best judgments of the video game scene return and they do it with two unpublished titles in our territory. The Great Ace Attroney Chronicles takes us to Victorian England to talk about crimes, corruption, legislation and many other topics dealt with through the prism of western romanticization that the anime performs from Japan. Being somewhat less redundant and more direct would have been wonderful and would have reduced the number of hours needed to complete it. Even so, if you are able to jump the language barrier, you will come up against a different video game full of humor and second readings.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has great characters, visuals and an intriguing plot, but the new mechanics offer no challenge or player engagement, making this a solid entry for returning fans but offering little to entice newcomers.
Ace Attorney has already more than proven itself as one of the best narrative series in gaming, but sooner or later it needs to address the issues prevalent with its gameplay design.
Fans of the earlier entries in the series will have little to complain about, and it’s a great new story for beginners to the franchise as well who find the older games inaccessible. But all this comes with one caveat: Please do not come into this expecting a realistic historical story. You’ll only end up disappointed.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is an HD collection of 3DS titles never released before in the West that tries to reiterate the beloved Ace Attorney formula with an historical-drama flavour. Characters and settings are fleshed out in a brilliant way and yet the gameplay feels too familiar for its own good.

A fresh visual novel, set in XIX century, which introduces new mechanics to the Ace Attorney Saga. It is not translated into spanish language, and requires some advanced level to understand some legal and historical terms.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles isn't going to win over anyone that hasn't enjoyed the series in the past. The gameplay won't be for everyone, and the problems that have been there since Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney are as present as ever. That said, Capcom has done a great job making this the most accessible game in the series and a perfect starting point for newcomers. The characters are wonderful, the story is compelling, and there's an incredible satisfaction when the truth is uncovered. For fans of the series, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is simply a must-own package.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is an amazing starting point for newcomers. This latest installment never fails to lose sight of what its fanbase loves. It has a great overarching plot, intriguing cases, and well-written characters. If you haven’t yet, you better get on the case!

It feels fantastic to finally play The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles; it was just as amazing as any fan would expect out of the series. The dev team has continuously created wildly clever and hilariously punny titles up to this point, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is no exception. Although I do feel that there is a bit more hand-holding in this series than previous games, it shouldn’t give any fans pause. In fact, if you are a fan, there’s literally no reason not to buy this game, and if you’re new to the series, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is mechanically well-suited to be your first foray into the franchise. When it comes down to it, playing The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is simply elementary — no objections here!
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is an excellent collection for every fan of detective stories out there. However if you've played most of the previous games from the series, you might bet a bit tired by the large amount of text, new mechanics and slightly overly long court trials.

All in all, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a delightful bundle of two great games. The plot succeeds in entertaining the player, while the gameplay challenges them resulting in an overall satisfying experience. Thanks to this being a prequel in the franchise, it’s a great point to jump into the series. Even for series veterans, there’s a lot to love here, and even a few familiar references.
