Final Fantasy 3 is a fantastic amalgamation of all that’s come before it, streamlined in a way that sets the path for the future of the series. Players have freedom and choice with the jobs system and the benefits that come with each selection. But despite some important, marked differences to make the game more accessible, enticing, and player-friendly, this tale has started to feel overly familiar.

Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster is an important piece of JRPG history and, UI issues aside, it's fascinating to finally experience it.

Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster transports us back to the magical world of NES but with a more than grateful face and technological facelift. Of course, it has nothing to do with the remake of Nintendo DS, mobile phones and Steam, but in order to enjoy the original version, it is the best option we have on the market.

At the end of the day, FF3 does more interesting things with its run-time than does the original Final Fantasy, and I might even recommend it over that one. Taking full advantage of the quality-of-life features built into the Pixel Remaster series is a great way to enjoy one of the lesser played entries in this storied Square Enix franchise. While it shouldn't be the only or the first Final Fantasy you play, it's still worth a look for any RPG enthusiast.

Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III are great games that work well even after many years. Pixel Remaster versions are a good way to catch up on these classics, or recall them. Especially since they are more affordable than ever - which again will not please everyone.

Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster is an interesting curiosity item for Final Fantasy fans, but hardly a must-play.

I come away from Final Fantasy 1, 2, and 3 looking forward to the remaining games more than I did before. I appreciate the new features like the enhanced bestiary, the auto-combat feature, making grinding friendlier, and I LOVE the new soundtracks. But I hope they manage to address issues like the screen tearing and especially the font before the last three games release.

In a world where the 3D remake of Final Fantasy III exists, it's hard to argue that Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster is the definitive version. However, there's no denying that this classic RPG still holds up, even though it struggles to wow outside of its enjoyable job system.

The first three Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are a somewhat solid remastering effort that could have been so much better with a few tweaks. While the amazing rearranged soundtracks sound great and the balancing tweaks make the three games still feel great to play, the divisive overhauled visuals reminiscent of the 16-bit entries, technical issues like the lack of a V-Sync toggle and display settings not saving and lack of additional content found in prior remakes make these remasters a truly worthy purchase only for those who live and breathe Final Fantasy.

An interesting collection, designed for both fans and new players, which subtly updates the first six Final Fantasy both in the audiovisual and in the playable. While it is true that not all games are equally good, it is a great way to rescue these classics on current consoles, although the price is somewhat high.

There’s a lot to love in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters package, while not perfect, each remaster is absolutely going to be considered the best version of each game yet – especially by fans of the series looking to play an updated version of an experience they treasure.

Frankly, if you're a player like me who loves the Final Fantasy series, instead of buying the games one by one, I say take the full package and start watching the path of IV – V and VI, one of the best in the series.

Final Fantasy III: Pixel Remaster is the best version of the game to date. It feels more modern and polished than the NES version, and it lacks some of the annoying foibles and flaws of the 3D version. It's still a dated JRPG, but with the Pixel Remaster, it feels a lot easier to pick up and play. I had previously said that FF3 was my least favorite of the NES trilogy, but I enjoyed this title the most in the three Pixel Remaster offerings. If you're only going to get one of the Pixel Remaster titles, then FF3PR is the one to get.

I might feel a bit differently had this also contained both the original games (even if in Japanese for titles that didn’t come state-side) as well as these remasters so you could compare and contrast, but as it stands, there’s still so much potential that could have made the asking price worth it – but it sadly wasn’t capitalized on.

Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster showcases an often overlooked gem of the 8-bit era, taking many of the better features of the first two games and expanding upon them.

This version of Final Fantasy III is more than just a history lesson; it's a fun, experimental game with a cool early job system, an absolutely stunning soundtrack, a story that does more than people give it credit for, and a significant improvement from earlier games in the series that is worth playing today.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is a wonderful piece of archival gaming, and an example of how older titles should be ported and collected for future generations. Games are an art form like any other, and while they grow increasingly nebulous and online, a push for archiving games, old and new, must be made for the medium’s sake. This collection is a small but significant step on that road, and I hope other publishers take note.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster is a must have for the fans and the best entry point for players who want to discover the genesis of an iconic saga. With its marvelous graphics, its divine reorchestrated OST and significant news features, Square Enix delivers the best version of these six games.

These six remasters provide a superb way to experience or re-experience Final Fantasy history. Not all Final Fantasies were created equal, however; some, like Final Fantasy IV and VI, have aged gracefully and remain great narrative-driven adventures, while others might feel a bit more archaic even with the quality-of-life additions. Purists also may not appreciate the new balancing introduced in these new remasters. Even so, if you don't have them on a cartridge with an ancient TV to hook them up to or don't want to experience the bonus dungeons added in other versions, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more convenient, aesthetically pleasing, and faithful way to play through some of the best JRPGs ever made.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection is a great bundle to introduce new JRPG players to the Final Fantasy series, and provides old fans a nice nostalgic trip. While some issues could be ironed out, the collection provides an enjoyable experience regardless.
