If you played the original and feel ‘done’ with it, there may not be enough big tweaks to bring you back for another go. But the upgrade price point is good and it’ll definitely appeal to those gamers who missed out on playing the original and now fancy jumping in on PS5

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut is another opportunity to try one of the really interesting titles of the previous generation, even if it is only because of how controversial it is.

Death Stranding Director's Cut improves the flow of the campaign considerably by cutting down on a lot of the grind. If you've never played the original, you'll find a truly bizarre experience only made possible by the mind of Hideo Kojima.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is a game with a ton going on. It’s an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a creative and enjoyable experience. The only question for those who played the original version is whether or not they enjoyed their first trip through Kojima’s brilliant creation. If you did, or if this is your first time playing Death Stranding, you are absolutely going to love every second of the Death Stranding Director’s Cut.

So here’s the thing – Death Stranding is Death Stranding. It is a highly divisive game that some will love while others will hate with a passion. If you don’t like it, nothing in the Director’s Cut will change your mind about the game. If you do like it? This version simply elevates the experience.

Death Stranding Director's Cut is an excellent game, but the two-year old original title was already excellent as well. The new content is nice, but don't expect wonders. The game still remains an one of the kind masterpiece, but this rerelease doesn't really offer anything groundbreaking.

Death Stranding: Directors Cut adds a lot of new content that greatly enhances the base game. For those who have never played Death Stranding, the Directors Cut will provide a version of the game that is far more exciting and enjoyable than the original. For returning players, you may not find enough substance to make it a worthwhile purchase. The firing range, racetrack and new mission will give you some moments of fun but unless you plan on playing the game from the start, the new content will not occupy your time for long.

The Director's Cut of Death Stranding is one of the most beautiful PS5 games to date. A lot of the magic comes directly from the DualSense which adds a lot to the immersion especially with the haptic feedback. There might not be a long of new elements and asking for a premium to upgrade the original version does seem a bit greedy, but it's still a must for every PS5 owner that never played the original.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut is the most personal work of Hideo Kojima, a game that some will love and others not so much. If after reading the analysis you are interested in what it proposes, it is recommended, but always taking into account what it is. Some of the additions in this edition are interesting, such as the new scenes. On the other hand, some of the objects that facilitate the experience may not be to everyone's liking.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut guarantees an even more epic adventure in a definitive version that offers new gameplay features and takes full advantage of PS5, especially for those embarking on the experience for the first time. If you've already finished the campaign on PS4, I don't recommend purchasing the upgrade. If you didn't finish the story and will continue in this version, I suggest starting from the beginning to take advantage of everything the director's version has to offer in the form it should be presented.
