Halo Infinite is a genuine disappointment on multiple levels. The campaign is lackluster and lacks the promised couch co-op. The open-world map is largely devoid of life. The multiplayer is decent, but it's competing in a saturated market. Although I held out hope, that hope has evaporated.

Halo is back to its best with Halo Infinite, tight controls, and seriously thirst-quenching gunplay that feels so intuitively satisfying. Traversal has been improved hugely by the addition of the grappleshot, allowing Master Chief to zip around at speed, as well as adding a unique element for multiplayer matches. A particular dampener has to be directed at the online multiplayer, which is riddled with cheaters, but, if they were to be removed then the multiplayer offers a solid free-to-play experience that is fast and frantic. Halo Infinite, alongside a number of other Xbox first-party titles is a great addition to Xbox Game Pass, and it is certainly a marquee game that warrants a subscription to the service.

This could be the foundation for what is to be seen in the near future in the next approaches to the Halo universe, at least relative to the main line. It is a solid foundation that gives certainties of a promising future, with the implementation of improvements, especially visual.

Halo Infinite is a fun and accessible shooter, which introduces new concepts while rescuing the best traditions of the series, bringing an exciting script, focused on the Master Chief and his relationship with his new and friendly companion, Arma. This is, without a doubt, the best Halo made by 343, both in terms of gameplay, visuals, mechanics and plot, and one of the most fun of the entire saga, being a definite recommendation for enthusiasts of futuristic shooters.

Halo Infinite had a lot going against it due to a lot of behind the scenes issues. But against all odds this game manages to deliver. Not all of its ideas work, like the bloated open world, repetitive environments and especially the abysmal progression system in the multiplayer. But at the end of the day, the core mechanics are excellent. They are so excellent, in fact, that I enjoyed the action far more than nitpicking every issue I had.

Featuring well-designed and well-balanced gameplay, great graphics, and a host of maps and modes to suit every player. Personally, I can see myself returning to the game every few days for an hour or so, enjoying some casual but explosive FPS fun. Halo Infinite is balanced, fun and introduces just enough new features to make it interesting. It caters to players of different skill levels and allows both casual and hardcore to enjoy hours of gameplay. Did I mention, it’s also free? What’s not to love about that.

It's hard to deny the missteps and missing launch-day features, but it's harder to deny how thoroughly engaging Halo Infinite feels.

Halo Infinite gives players the pleasure of engaging gameplay that never grows stale, but suffers from a lack of variety in environments and lackluster antagonists.

Halo Infinite has some minor issues but otherwise, it really shows that 343 put a lot of love and effort into restoring Halo to the glory that it once held.

To me, 343 Industries have succeeded with Halo Infinite in two of the most important gaming aspects, its brilliant gameplay and story. Graphically it may be underwhelming, on the Series S at least, and it could have at least done with six months more of polish, but this was easily the most fun I’ve had with a Halo game since Halo 3. The open-world setting of Zeta Halo breathes new life into the series and gives players the freedom to explore with plenty of opportunities to fight the Banished in whatever way you wish, whether on foot, via ground vehicles or by air. This is a major return to form for the Halo series and it’s great to see Master Chief back to finish the fight!

The events of Halo Infinite certainly round out the key story elements of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians for me. I loved the emotional hits that Master Chief takes, which has been a mainstay from across the series. I felt the game dragged out in certain points and ammo was a pain like previous Halo games, but the open world exploration was a great addition to the series.

Halo Infinte is a new start for the series that promises good. The open world means new ways to play and together with the new grapple hook it will be a pleasure to explore the huge spaces. Unfortunately, there are still many empty areas, which tells us that the game may not be fully developed. However, gameplay is on top, now only the final pieces of the puzzle are missing that can make Halo Infinite the best of its kind.

With a free-to-play multiplayer that is utterly enjoyable, and a substantial single-player campaign that delivers an addictively entertaining gameplay loop that makes sense for both newcomers and veterans, Halo Infinite is a return to form well worth the wait.

Halo Infinite is a good title, with a fairly correct story that opens a bridge of possibilities to a saga that will be infinite. The gameplay (and especially gunplay) is so much fun that it is what many other shooters should aspire to, and the mechanics have been innovated with very good taste.

All in all, Halo Infinite is a worthy entry to this legendary franchise. That is an achievement by itself. But what I really appreciated is the fact that 343 took risks. These risks are things that could have completely soured the experience and turned away even the most diehard fans of the franchise. In the end though, those risks paid off. Infinite is in my opinion, 343’s best Halo title yet, and I couldn’t be more excited to see where it goes from here.
