Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - Prince's Edition Reviews
Ni no Kuni II is a wonderful game, but the sacrifices to make it work on Switch and lack of content outweigh the portability factor.
This successor to a former king fails to iterate or improve in many departments.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is nothing like its predecessor in general playstyle, but it shares the same sense of whimsy and wonder, the same motifs of sadness and redemption, and is a well-built game overall.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom has an incredible amount to offer, and everything that it does is delivered and executed to the highest standard. The art style is undeniably gorgeous, and the gameplay will have you hooked from the moment you arrive in Ding Dong Dell. A charming adventure that I am so happy to have gone on. All hail King Evan!
RPG fans who missed this on PlayStation 4 and already traded their console for a Nintendo Switch will likely get a lot of enjoyment from Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom Prince’s Edition. Young gamers especially will be enchanted by the whimsical setting and premise. The action style combat is also easy to pick up for eager kids who want to cut up some monsters.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom The Prince's Edition is a complete package for any JRPG fan. The world is fleshed out, its genuine joy to experience, the characters are interesting but Ni No Kuni II's biggest strength is the gameplay. It constantly keeps on giving, but it never overwhelms.
Essential for lovers of the genre.

Opencritic - Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - Prince's Edition, a princely version of a marvelous JRPG that brings all the previous DLC under one package and which does a great job on the Nintendo Switch, despite some technical limitations. With an excellent combat system, an art style that's a marvel to look at, and a very rewarding exploration, this version of Ni No Kuni II will fall perfectly on the shelves of any fan of JRPGs.

Given this overall balance, it's easy to see that Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom PRINCE'S EDITION (Switch) is far from an exemplary action-RPG, there are high points, but in almost all of them there are also drawbacks. The title would have a lot to be improved mechanically both in the level design of the missions and in the action and RPG systems. On the other hand, the work captivates both in artistic aspects and in the variety and accessibility of its game design.

Overall, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom Prince's Edition still provides an engaging story with endearing characters and simplistic, fun combat despite including a few bugs. Now that the game is available on Nintendo Switch with all DLCs included, I definitely believe it's worth a try for JRPG fans with a Switch.
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom Prince's Edition brings a great game with all its DLC content to Switch. Like every Switch port there are concessions to be made with this version.
Despite the few framerate dips and noticeable visual downgrade, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom Prince's Edition is still a solid port of a great game that provides Switch owners a chance to experience the title to the fullest extent.
While not as pretty as it’s PS4 older brother, Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Prince’s Edition is a delightful experience all around. All the additional DLC is just a welcome bonus.
With that being said, the Prince’s Edition is not the best version of Ni no Kuni II, but it is the most portable. If mobility is key then consider picking it up on the Switch, but if visuals and performance are more important than a significantly better version of the game can be found cheaper elsewhere.
The DLC is excellent, and the portability is aces. If you’ve never played Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom before, then the Switch’s Prince’s Edition is a must play for any JRPG fan. My only complaints are about what the game doesn’t have. Everything it does have is wonderful. It’s kind of worth it for the strange intro alone.
With a lighthearted, yet impactful narrative, a beautiful soundtrack, deep combat and kingdom building mechanics, and a delightful cast of characters, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - Prince's Edition should be enjoyed for any JRPG fans.
Although it has some technical problems, it is a game that I can easily recommend for players who want to experience Ni No Kuni II with slightly lower graphics, wherever they go.

The Nintendo Switch version of Ni No Kuni II is not perfect, but it gives us the possibility to play one of the best JRPGs of the last years in portable mode, which is an unbeatable pleasure.

While Ni No Kuni II is already three years old, this Switch still feels new and refreshing. This is partly due to the timeless, cheerful story and the colourful drawing style. The port to the Switch can safely be called successful, with short loading times and excellent performance. The game itself is unabatedly charming and offers varied gameplay and including all the included DLC a nice total package that you can lose many hours in. Ni No Kuni II hasn't lost any of its charm and is now nice and easy to play. Recommended!
