The droll and shockingly boring game loop is spread far too thin. The level requirements demand the player go and grind with side quests, but that also means having to endure more of the same tired, coma-inducing gameplay. After a while the inane chatter of the characters and the constant hail of bullets become white noise and the game’s basic components become all too apparent.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands had a lot of potentials. The transition from the sci-fi setting to the fantasy setting suited the game incredibly well, but the possibility that came with the change was hardly used at all. The gunfights and weapons are fun, but over time you discover their uniform template, which isn't helped by choice of a semi-open world. The story maintains a comedic pace but lacks originality. The spells are excellent, the classes too, but not one part of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands dares to step out of the shadows of the Borderlands series. And that includes a bad connection in the case of the co-op. Whether or not you like games like this, you probably won't mind playing them; whether it entertains you is another matter.

The best and worst thing about Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is that it feels like another Borderlands game. The shooter gameplay is as tight and responsive as ever, the weapons are fun to use, and the writing is a marked improvement over Borderlands 3. The characters are once again at the center of the game's comedy, and the performances are great (when the actors are actually committing to their roles). But, because this is more Borderlands, a lot of the same annoyances with the series persist, especially when it comes to inventory management and the sheer amount of meaningless loot. Really, Wonderlands' worst offense is that it can't get over the series' legacy of looting and shooting, and misses the opportunity to take real inspiration from the tabletop worlds that it parodies.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands retains the inherently entertaining shootin' and lootin' gameplay that the Borderlands series is known for, but you're frequently held back from enjoying it because of repetitive missions, tedious busywork, oodles of padding, and the game's relentless need to be funny. It's characters won't shut up, frequently stopping you playing so it can perform another inane comedy routine that limply, embarrassingly fizzles out like a deflating corpse, farting decomposition gases to the tune of "Ta-dah!"

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is an easy recommendation for Borderlands and D&D fans, but those who have had their fill of the franchise may get tired of the repetitive combat and constantly looting useless items. The technical problems are the biggest issue, so hopefully, Gearbox Software releases new Tiny Tina's Wonderlands updates to address them soon.

Slicing through mobs to trade up my weapons is fun, and sometimes an amusing line of dialogue makes everything seem great again. Gearbox could’ve done a lot more with the next installment in the Borderlands' series than this. It all got old, too quickly, and it made me just want to boot up Borderlands 2 with my friends again, instead.

Wonderlands is the safest, most paint-by-numbers, product-of-the-time game I’ve played in a while, and a serving of the same thing Gearbox has been dishing up for 10 years minus the humor. It’s the absolute opposite of avant-garde and simply reuses the Borderlands formula without improving on it in any tangible manner. While it’s more tolerable as a multiplayer game given that you’ll more readily be able to overlook its story and writing, it’s still a disappointing spin-off that takes away more from the source material than it gives back.

A reskinned Borderlands 3 that would've been much better off as an expansion, given it's too short to justify the outrageously high price tag and too long to hide the lack of variety and new ideas.

I can’t say I didn’t enjoy all of my time with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, because I did enjoy quite a bit of it. And when they patch out the bugs I’m sure it will be a much better experience. Unfortunately, the things I butted heads with that are inherent to the design of the game sapped all of the joy out of it and by the time I finished the campaign, I just wanted to be done with it and move on to something else.

Borderlands has many of the same features, but Tiny Tina's Wonderlands adds new ones, like spells that are useful throughout the story. One of the game's most notable aspects is the uniqueness of its conversation and the presence of Tina as its Dungeon Master. Expansion for Borderlands 3, however, would have been much better off as an expansion since it's too short to justify the price tag and too lengthy to cover up a lack of fresh ideas.

Dealing with Tiny Tina’s humor for 20 or so hours isn’t always easy to swallow and may not be for everyone, but the gameplay is rewarding enough that even those that wind up moving the dialogue audio slider down to zero will have a good time.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a quirky and silly looter shooter that simply doesn't distinguish itself enough from the mainline Borderlands games. It's still a lot of fun, though, especially when you play with friends.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands might as well be an expansion for Borderlands 3. Only fans of Borderlands who can tolerate Tiny Tina should consider this game.

A jovial jaunt through a reskinned Borderlands experience. The humour and references are on point, but the short length left me disappointed…

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a full-priced offering that seems like it would have been better suited as DLC, like its predecessor. It's still a solid shooter with some whacky characters and a fun story, but it doesn't take any risks or innovate on the established formula, and the multiplayer issues are an annoyance.

It might be more fun to play than to listen to, but it's far from intolerable. In fact, a good time should be had by all party members. The combination of ranged and melee weapons with magic, special skills, and companions like a tiny dragon make for frenetic and exciting gameplay in a colorful, surprisingly engaging world.

The variety of each of Wonderlands‘ six classes, combined with a deficit in mission difference, means you’ll have a much better experience with friends.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a nice spinoff from the main Borderlands series. While the class system is pretty enjoyable, most of the game is still based off classic Borderlands title, and as such, there isn't much new stuff to feat on. The overall game is still pretty decent with lots to do, and that lovely sense of humor.
