While it's built around an interesting mechanic and features tense, sometimes terrifying moments, MADiSON is frequently derailed by tedious puzzles and an irritating amount of backtracking.

A fun game and concept with a specific audience. The issues with the brightness and layout knocked it down a few points. But the overall graphics and uniqueness still made MADiSON a fairly enjoyable experience.

The beta for MADiSON is a slow-moving journey into demonic uncertainties, that pays tribute to Visage and analogue horror in general.

Ultimately, if you love horror games, in particular P.T., simply know that you need to play MADiSON. This is the best pure horror game in years, shredding the nerves of even the most brave of souls. It can be a little frustrating when you get stuck on a devious puzzle, but when you finally find the solution it’s very rewarding. No game has horrified us quite as much as this debut from Bloodious. We just hope the studio is ready to follow up with something else even scarier.

MADiSON had what it takes to be a great horror game, but there is unnecessary exaggeration here. In addition, the lack of maturity of the character in the narrative makes you think that it is stuck all the time at the beginning, making the title tiring, especially with Luca's unbearable whimpering.

If compared to top survival horror games, MADiSON really doesn't have much to offer to even fit in the genre, let alone making any challenges, but as an action adventure game it offers some engaging puzzles and a great atmosphere.

It takes the visual quality and puzzle solving of Visage and mixes in its own themes of old technology and the marching on of time.

When you're looking for a good psychological horror released in the last decade, Madison is more than a decent place to start. It surely has its cringy dialogue moments, but with a good pair of headphones, this game will make you scream like a baby, swear at every jumpscare and most of all you'll utterly hate instant cameras.

MADiSON is a genuinely terrifying psychological horror game and does its job very well, making it stand out in the genre on Nintendo's hybrid platform. Unfortunately, this is dragged down by the poor inventory system and unclear puzzle direction, causing far too much backtracking. Aside from these gripes, MADiSON expertly uses every tool at its disposal to unsettle you and create a horrifying experience I am keen to return to again.

‎MADiSON has an oppressive atmosphere and ingenious puzzles that keep the player in tension from start to finish. However, the Bloodious Games game abuses jumpscares and has technical problems that weigh down the experience.‎

Although MADiSON is a good proposal that ends up drowned by its flaws, it is not a horror game that you should avoid either, since it has moments that are very worthwhile.

MADiSON is a psychological horror game without any psychological horror. It has jump scares galore, and at least on PC, it’s a completely broken mess for me before launch. I’d advise taking a wait-and-see approach for both PC and Console due to all of these issues. Priced at $35.99 US it’s a steep cost for something that isn’t very good even when it’s working. If you love yourself a good horror game I’d give this one a little time post-launch, and take a look at it eventually on a deep sale.

If you’re hankering for a decent horror experience that will give you the willies and challenge your puzzle-solving skills, then MADiSON is for you. If you’re sick of jumpscares in horror games, then consider taking a break cause they’re not going anywhere. If you don’t play horror games and wanna prove to your friend that you’re indeed a hardcore gamer, well…

MADiSON is one of the most terrifying horror games I have played in the past few years. Unfortunately, it is held back from true greatness by some of its presentation and tedious sections. I can understand that for many it might rely a little too heavily on jumpscares, but I would argue that many of them are still very effective. MADiSON provides a relentless barrage of horror that few games can really compete with.

MADiSON channels the best instalments of the first-person horror genre to deliver a frantic, nerve-shredding and atmospheric tale of demonic possession. It delivers the scares often and will have you tentatively looking over your shoulder at that shadow that definitely wasn’t there before. It’s been a while since I felt this much trepidation moving through a cursed home, but it feels frighteningly good to test this demonic presence again. A must play for horror fans this year.

Numerous jump scares, logical and challenging puzzles, and psychological horror that shake your mind. It is worth considering that MADiSON has the best core elements among recent horror games. However, the links between the narrative and puzzles may not be easily found due to lack of hints.

MADiSON is a really nasty game in a positive way. It is frightening and manages to make you feel stuffy from the beginning to the end. With a Polaroid camera in your pocket you can find a way out of your grandfather's house. The jump scares work perfectly and are interspersed with an unpleasant sense of false security. With this, MADiSON manages to create an ideal horror atmosphere. You don't really want to play MADiSON at all, but you still want to try it.

Bloodius Games packs a mature work, visceral in its telling us about the slow descent into the abyss of human madness, framing Luke's journey as one of the darkest and most intriguing experiences in the horror landscape in recent years. MADiSON is a macabre dance of pure anguish and wonder, which, barring some smearing or abuse of cliché, is recommended for anyone looking for a mature and never trite horror experience.
