Life is Strange Remastered doesn't add anything revolutionary to its experience for those who have already played this emotional and gripping narrative but for newcomers, this package with its graphical improvements could be a solid offer to experience this beautiful and honest adventure about adolescence for the first time.

Life is Strange Remastered Collection is, at present, an incomprehensible product. Because it is impossible to understand why Square Enix wanted to treat one of its most famous and beloved creatures in this way, with protagonists - Chloe and Max - among the most iconic in the history of the videogame medium. It is an unfinished product, which would have deserved more time and greater consistency in the artistic direction.

Life is Strange Remastered Collection is only good because Life is Strange is so good. The upgrades are nice, but they aren’t evenly applied and sometimes make the game look worse. It also has an inexcusable number of bugs. Life is Strange and Before the Storm are great games, but this collection is lacking. I recommend just picking up the original versions. You can probably find them cheaper than this collection, and they offer just as good an experience. They offer a better experience in some ways.

All in all, Life is Strange Remastered Collection, as a game, is better than the sum of its parts. I’ve found it to be flawed yet fascinating and interesting. The same can be said for parts of its prequels but that game can also be a bore sometimes. Whatever the case may be, these are games I would recommend to anyone curious as Life is Strange has a lot to offer that may connect better with you. But I do recommend you hold off on this remaster until the bugs have been addressed.

Deck Nine have done a wonderful job in bringing Arcadia Bay back to life in this re-telling of a beloved story. Max, Chloe and Rachel's bonds feel stronger than ever with the brand new animations, lip-synching and model overhauls. Unfortunately, the prequel isn't quite as hard-hitting as the first story and the countless bugs currently across both games can potentially ruin the immersive experience unless you manage to avoid them. The lack of 60 FPS on next-gen consoles upon launch is a little disappointing, too.

Life is Strange: Remastered Collection maintains the original aesthetics of the original games while making some welcome, if somewhat conservative, improvements. Visually and content-wise, this is the best version of both games, although it should be mentioned that the visual improvements are not homogeneous. That said, it is a great recommendation for those who want to revisit these games, those who want to get the most complete edition of them, but above all, those who missed them the first time around.

Life is Strange Collection Remastered could have been a much better situation.

Life is Strange Remastered Collection is a curious case that begs the question – was this really necessary in the first place? Fans of narrative adventures will find much to love with the game, especially if you are a newcomer to the series that will be experiencing the games for the first time. However, if you’ve already played the original versions from years back, there’s very little reason to go back and purchase this at a premium day one price

Both games deserve a more lovingly crafted package as they can't be called the definitive editions with a variety of new graphical issues and glitches.

Though it's a good entry point for series newcomers, Life is Strange Remastered Collection seems entirely unnecessary for anyone else.

Deeply emotive, well written, respectful of player choice, and with a great look and atmosphere, Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm are must-haves for anyone interested in narrative-driven adventures that focus more on the characters than the plot itself - even when taking their flaws into consideration. When it comes to the remastered collection, though… better wait for a generous bargain if already in possession of the original instalments, as the upgrades are not that strong, and the package isn't devoid of a few technical issues. If a total newcomer, however, be sure to check it out - although you can expect a bug or two if unlucky.

The Life is Strange Remastered Collection offers you an excellent game and another, which is a lot of fun if you’re invested in its characters. They’re well worth playing. The question is more about whether this collection is the way you want to do so. Despite the improved visuals and animations not quite making this the definitive version in every way, things are solid enough that if given any way to do so, I’d probably choose these versions. Despite that, this is a great example of titles that simply didn’t need to be remastered. For fans of the series, it offers nothing that makes them worth revisiting, or even upgrading from the versions that are already out there. If you have another way to check out Max and Chloe’s stories, just play those instead.

A flawed-yet-engaging first season forcefully strapped to its turgid prequel, further harmed by current technical issues unfit for a remaster.

Life is Strange and Before the Storm are and ultimate bundle of joy and should be celebrated. It's not the perfect way to do it for the moment, but I'm sure there's going to be future fixes that will amend all prior issues mentioned.

The games contained in the Arcadia Bay Collection are still excellent, but the updates made here make these the objectively worse versions. The motion capture updates to Life is Strange look fantastic, but are hard to see through more realistic textures that look out of place compared to the water color style of the original. If you can, stick with the original games on PC, but if you're a console player this is an acceptable way to experience these incredible stories if you can look past the issues.

Life is Strange Arcadia Bay Collection is a faithful remaster with its new visual enhancements greatly improving the overall experience. The Nintendo Switch version is a great way to experience these classic titles for the first time, especially with all the episodes in one place.

Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection is an odd release in that it doesn't really feel like the games have been remastered at all. Certain aspects of the presentation have been improved, such as the lip-syncing and overall colour tone, but at the same time you've got some pretty unforgivable presentation drawbacks like texture and asset pop-in, muddy environmental visuals, and absurdly long load times. Considering how long it's taken for this collection to arrive on Switch, we honestly expected better. Nevertheless, these games are worth experiencing for the narrative alone, so if you've never played either and you have no other way to access them, this still comes with a light recommendation.

If you missed this two intriguing games until now, this may be the best chance to follow Max and Chloe's path, as Life is Strange and Before the Storm are well fitted on Nintendo Switch.

Having the opportunity to get this collection for Nintendo Switch, and being able to live out the story of Max and Chloe anytime and anywhere is highly recommended. However, we believe that Square Enix was able to even further polish and improve the game by taking advantage of the unique possibilities that the console has to offer.
