Chroma Squad may not be the deepest tactical RPG around, but it brings a high level of enjoyment throughout.

Chroma Squad offers a satisfying tactical experience that blends together the fun of the Power Rangers with some enjoyable management aspects – it’s a combination that sounds slightly peculiar, but actually makes for a fun time. It can be guilty of being a little bit repetitive in places and it’s lacking the depth seen in similar titles in the genre, but fortunately there’s enough excitement to be found throughout Chroma Squad that you’ll easily find yourself hooked in until you reach the final season’s big finale.

Despite the delay, Chroma Squad still maintained its hype up until today. The devs did a good job of utilizing the delay to further improve the game. Some sources and even rumors say that there's a possibility that the devs would expand the game to even include the Kamen Rider series.

Chroma Squad is a surprisingly good indie game. While it´s tactical RPG gameplay manage to keep the ideas simple with some original mechanics, the best part of the game is the in-between-fights micromanagement part where we need to make lots of decisions to have the best tv show.

Blending fantastic strategy RPG and business simulator gameplay with an incomparably meta sense of humor, Chroma Squad overcomes its overlong stages with mighty morphin’ colors.

Overall, Chroma Squad is a decent enough turn-based strategy game, bogged down with unnecessary features and slow pacing that do nothing more than nearly destroy its charms.

If you grew up enjoying the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers this title may have a special appeal to you since in essence it is a tactical RPG where you take control of a time remarkably similar to them...

Chroma Squad is not only a worthy tribute to Power Rangers; it's also one of the best indie SRPGs ever created.

undefined.Chroma Squad certainly does a solid job of providing an experience that invokes pleasant memories of days past. After several hours of playtime I found myself watching old episodes of the original Power Rangers on Netflix. Only three days later and my kids are halfway through season one, eagerly waiting for the introduction of the Green Ranger. While the tactical-based combat provides a decent reason for younger fans to try out Chroma Squad, it's abundantly clear which audience is going to appreciate this game the most.

Chroma Squad is aware that its audience has grown up; it doesn't seem aware that its audience has matured.

Chroma Squad is a fun little RPG that doesn't take itself too seriously and is happy to be silly nonsense. It's not the most lasting of games, and some glitches to wear the experience down, but I think Behold Studios could really turn a sequel into something special - and I hope they do!

Great subject, humour and gameplay meet charming music and graphics to make magic. It may be a little too easy for hardcore tactical buffs, but for me this game is perfect.

All in all, I think that Chroma Squad is a lot — and I mean a LOT — of fun when it works right. And to its credit, it works right almost all of the time. I never ran into a game-breaking bug, for starters. That’s high praise considering that this is an indie production made with tender loving care and Kickstarter money. There’s multiple endings and story branches, and I’m most definitely going to give it another spin in the future to see how much juice I can get from this thing. But the only thing holding me back from diving right back in is the thing I should have had the most fun with. I’m hoping that can get fixed, possibly even expanded on. As it stands, I can’t recommend Chroma Squad to anyone but the most devoted of Sentai fans and those who already like Strategy RPGs. Even for as fun as the main bulk of the game is, the insular nature of the jokes / story and the sheer mind-numbing-ness of the mecha pieces keep me from telling everyone to buy it without reservation.

There's enough tongue-in-cheek dialogue to remind you of how campy and fun the Power Rangers are, but it's often undercut by the game's insistence on being silly.

A whimsical love letter to Super Sentai and a must have for a fan, though far from perfect in design.

Also, there's a lot of potential here for some real mythology to be created within this universe-in-need-of-saving. Until then, Chroma Squad is a nostalgic step in the right direction but it might take some time before we take bigger strides in giant mech feet.
