The spirit of the arcade scene in the 90s is fully alive with this title. I highly recommend Windjammers 2 to anybody who is a fan of arcade gameplay.

Windjammers is back and Dotemu did a terrific job giving to this classic game a proper and stylish sequel. All the players who loved the original game will find a pure gameplay experience with a couple of interesting new twist. On the other hand, content wise the game will not please who is looking to a meaningful single player experience and the arcade leagcy of Windjammers will rely only on the multiplayer mode.

‎Windjammers‎‎ 2 is empirical proof that a game doesn't have to be lavish and complicated to bring hundreds of hours of fun. An arcade experience with all the lyrics that perhaps relies a lot on its previous version and does not dare to innovate too much or add much, but that in any way more than fulfills the objective of having us trapped at the controls and being perfectly happy throwing an album from one side to the other.‎

Windjammers 2 is a fast-paced arcade game somewhat held down by its slower-paced mini-games and exploitable character stats. But the gameplay stands tall, so the game is still an incredible thrill ride.

For what it’s worth, I enjoyed my time with Windjammers 2. It sucked me in for hours as I slaved over a hot arcade stick. The single-player is very challenging, but it can only hold up the overall product for so long. It’s also not as transcendental as something like Streets of Rage 4 was in its revival of an old formula. It is as it says on the box: a sequel. It might as well have come out in 1996 for all it adds.

Windjammers 2 is a great-looking, highly challenging, and mostly functional game. While its difficulty curve can be intimidating to new players, it still provides an all-round enjoyable experience.

The game is excellent in terms of gameplay mechanics, graphics, and music. Unfortunately, there isn't much variety anywhere else to warrant a higher score. This game knows that it's essentially here for versus matches and as such, will only be engaging for players who are going to play against each other locally or online

Deep, attractive, and highly playable, Windjammers 2 is still missing some of what it needs to really shine. Plus the online is currently on the fritz.

If you liked Windjammers, you’ll probably like Windjammers 2 even more – but there’s not really enough here to rope in new fans. Windjammers 2 is very much a more of the same type of sequel, but that’s alright by me.

Windjammers 2 is a throwback to the arcade era, when the fun came from the competition itself. With a faithful reproduction of the original game's systems, new gameplay elements that add an extra layer of strategy to disputes and a great focus on local or ranked confrontations over the internet, the game is recommended for those who like to feel the adrenaline of victory after a close match. However, the lack of more elaborate modes and a single player progression system means that the game doesn't have much offline content to enjoy. Of course, the stimulating gameplay and the challenges imposed by the CPUs make up a little for this shortcoming, but the feeling that more could have been done in this regard to make the game reach even greater potential is not unremarkable.

Even in the face of its complicated controls and sparse features, DotEmu exceeds at making Windjammers 2 a retro adrenaline blast.

Dotemu can boldly resurrect more brands. It worked with Streets of Rage 4, it also worked with Windjammers 2. Worth playing in Game Pass.

DotEmu does it again with Windjammers 2, an arcade experience in his purest form. While the game is dynamic and works great online thanks to rollback netcode, the lack of content, modes to play or progression can discourage newer players that expect modern elements.

It may be several decades since the original was released, but the sportsmanship torch has been proudly passed onto Windjammers 2. It may lack a comprehensive offline arcade mode, but you can still get windswept into its addictive gameplay cycle and online competition.

‎It has all the ingredients of the original game and updates them to present a more complete and spectacular experience. Still, we would have appreciated more content and a more balanced Arcade mode. The real fun is in the multiplayer.‎

A stylish arcade throwback that delights while it lasts but has little to offer.

An admirable refresh of a cult classic, with excellent presentation and thoughtfully implemented new mechanics, but it's held back by its reluctance to modernise in other areas.

Windjammers 2 offers fast-paced and intensely fun online and offline versus play, but there's little to keep your interest if you're flying solo.

Ultimately, Windjammers 2 is an ultra-refined version of the original disc-throwing experience, but without any kind of unlockables, progression, or non-competitive reason to return to the game, it may not provide enough for anyone who isn't already a hardcore series fan.

Windjammers 2 is a great update to a nostalgic arcade wonder that many will welcome with open arms, just like they would a frisbee. Definitely take this one for a spin if you love air hockey-style games but crave that bit of extra button mashing. The characters, arenas, and soundtrack all hit the mark brilliantly. It’s not an easy game to master, allowing dedicated fans to hone their skills and improve. There’s a missed opportunity for better tutorialisation and a lack of a structured tournament/career mode is disappointing, though the game overall still feels like a nostalgic romp.
