Monster Energy Supercross 5 feels like more of the same, but the racing elements are strong despite not being welcoming to new players.

Monster Energy Supercross 5 is what you would expect of another entry in the Monster Energy Supercross series. With a lot of the series mainstays as well as some newer features, players have a plethora of options to choose from. I just wish it was more welcoming for newer players.

Monster Energy Supercross 5 takes all the main gameplay elements of the past edition, without making huge changes. For this reason, despite the work done by the Milestone team being overall quite good, those who expected a clear step forward compared to the earlier entries could be partially disappointed. Among the positive aspects, some tweaks to the physics and greater accessibility should be noted. Among the negative ones, the lack of significant new features stands out: more content would undoubtedly have improved a gaming experience which, however, remains more than enjoyable.

Now five entries into the Monster Energy Supercross series, the latest is running on fumes. While the sim-like mechanics of its driving model are nice, the overall package is bland, repetitive, and shows barely any progression from past entries.

Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame 5 should please fans of the series. The additions make the game more accessible than ever and is more fleshed out thanks to the new content. The main drawback is the lack of haptic feedback in relation to the track surface.

Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Videogame 5 has certainly made the game the most accessible in the series allowing newcomers to not feel too overwhelmed. But the game still feels very much like its predecessor with most of the modes only featuring subtle tweaks.

Monster Energy Supercross 5 takes career mode a couple of steps further than MXGP 2021. Most of the setup is similar, but between the races in the energy drink game, it is possible to take on different challenges to, for example, collect points for a simple upgrade tree. It's anything but advanced, but provides a welcome scoop of variety and a dash of depth.

‎The Milestone team has developed a good game‎‎. Monster Energy Supercross 5 fulfills its function, entertaining and simulating the world of Supercross. We are facing a delivery difficult to master and that will take a while to know how to control it 100%, especially if you are new to the saga.‎

There was great curiosity for this fifth chapter dedicated to the world of American Supercross. Milestone has confirmed the good things it had already shown with the MXGP series, even if the overall result is not exceptional.

Based on the current model of Monster Energy Supercross 5 that dates back to its inception, this may be the most complete version of the game despite its legacy issues.

The bottom line here is that I had an absolute blast with Monster Energy Supercross 5, and it delivered an experience that was fun, satisfying, authentic, and addicting. Adding Monster Energy Supercross 5 to your rotation is a must, whether you're a newcomer, casual, hardcore fan, or just a fan of racing in general. If you have never played this series before, now is the time. If you're a veteran, your voice is being heard, and you can feel it everywhere in the newest edition of this long-running franchise.

If you’re a supercross fan, it’s very easy to recommend Monster Energy Supercross 5. As ever, if you own one of its recent predecessors, it doesn’t really offer much that’s genuinely new. But improvements across the board, from handling to career features, make this the pinnacle of the series; it’s a must-have for ardent fans of the sport, and great for those looking for a way-in.

Motocross games have come a long way since I played MX vs. ATV: Unleashed in 2005, and Monster Energy Supercross 5 proves it. Sure, the presentation is disappointing, but the developer’s attention to gameplay and controls overshadows any fault. While the developers could do more to help ease new players in, the game is still a must-play for Supercross enthusiasts.

There is no doubt that Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 5 is one of the best current titles in its segment, and even with some points for improvement, it offers an incredibly deep system of control and simulation of the sport. Correct in both content and visual style, it proves to be receptive to dedicated fans, but uninviting to new adepts.

The new motorcycles are similar to other games from Milestone - quite fun, but without innovations and in addition with outdated graphics.

Monster Energy Supercross 5 does what it’s supposed to as a yearly refinement of an already enjoyable racing franchise.

Monster Energy Supercross 5 - The Official Videogame does a great job when it comes to teaching newbies all about the sport itself. I had no idea what a whoop or a holeshot was until playing, and now I could likely recite the dictionary definition. Races themselves are a lot of fun - although a single mistake without any rewinds left can be immensely punishing - but there's little to keep the player engaged beyond racing for the sake of it. Once you've finished the Pro series, that's it. You've beaten all the single-player content available, and all that's left is online multiplayer or finding the 20 collectibles in free roam which will take no longer than 30 minutes. My interest in Supercross itself is piqued, and I went into the experience expecting worse, but my time with Monster Energy Supercross 5 was short-lived.

Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 5 follows in the footsteps of its predecessors in a clear ascending line that begins to turn the saga into a reference saga for motor lovers. Whether you want a more arcade control or a more simulator control, this game may be for you.

a revised physics model and much improved riding assistances make the game a lot more accessible than before, making this the best episode so far for newcomers. Veterans will only find iterative upgrades here, and even the new campaign mode offers very little novelty, but it’s all in all a better game than the 4th episode from 2021.

Monster Energy Supercross 5 is still a good racing game, just like its predecessor. I welcome the addition of a few new assists and difficulty settings that make the game slightly more appealing and accessible towards newcomers. With that being said, all of those additions could have been added in its predecessor, via a patch. I just sincerely don’t think this franchise needs to have a yearly release, as there is very little that differentiates this title from 2021’s iteration.
