Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords translates well to the Switch, but it unfortunately suffers from severe technical problems.

Both fans of Star Wars and RPGamers will find many likable features in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. However, in its current state, the game is barely recommendable since crashes will be present constantly.

Overall, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is not the best port on the Nintendo Switch. It's priced at $15.00, and I can't recommend it as much as its predecessor unless you want a portable copy of KOTOR 2. Of course, updates might be made to patch the various bugs, but if you want to try out this version, be aware of the glitches and frequently save so you don't lose anything if it crashes!

Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is a fairly weak port of a flawed classic. The core characters and writing are still among the best in the entire franchise, but the gameplay is rapidly showing its age, and many of the flaws from the original release are still present. Fans of the franchise who may have skipped this particular entry should absolutely give it a shot, but for longtime fans, the Restored Content DLC is going to be the real game-changer.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II does a solid job of building on the foundation of its predecessor, capitalizing on engaging combat, player-driven storytelling, and deep character-building systems to make for a satisfying and very replayable RPG. The downsides of this Switch port are that it's rather buggy in its launch state and the game is often content to simply repeat the ideas that made its predecessor successful without adding to them in any notable way. We've got hopes that post-launch improvements will come alongside the upcoming (and free) Sith Lord Restored Content DLC - a very welcome addition that will really complete this package. Despite its faults, we'd still give KOTOR II a strong recommendation, though we'd suggest you play the original game first and then move on to this one if you still want more.

This is one of those cases where I'm a bit conflicted on how to score a release since on the one hand the actual game is generally excellent (though certainly now feeling dated) but the port is obviously a bit unstable (a few crashes) and buggy in spots...

In short, if you liked the original Knights of the Old Republic, then you’ll certainly want to grab this port of Knights of the Old Republic II. For the most part, it’s more of what you’ve loved since 2003/2005, as well as more of what you’ve loved from Aspyr’s remaster of the original, but with the added benefit of a potentially game-changing free DLC pack meant to fix plot holes and an overall lack of content which plagued the original game ever since it was first released, making it the definitive way to play this underrated gem of an RPG.

Knights of the Old Republic II has withstood the test of time to still be one of the best examples of the RPG genre, even 20 years later.

If that add-on delivers, there's a good chance the Switch version is the definitive version of this 2004 Xbox classic. Until then, this is a fine way to play a good game with some caveats. Hopefully those caveats become a thing of a past, but time will tell.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords had a tough act to follow, but does an admirable job of creating the next chapter in the Old Republic. As a sequel it fails to surpass the high standard set by the original, but it's still a great game and a must play for Star Wars fans.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords for the Switch could’ve been a much stronger game from the get-go, but unfortunately gamers should wait for future patches and DLC before giving this port a try.

Much like Aspyr's port of the first game, this new Switch port of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 - The Sith Lords is perhaps the best way to play this RPG!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: the Sith Lords expands upon the ground-breaking original. Story choices change depending on who you put into your party at the time. Conversations that take place between party NPCs can also get spicy, depending on who you bring along. Sith Lords does lean on some traditional Star Wars tropes a little harder than I would like, and the menus and UI are a bit dusty. Though I was afraid my rose colored glasses wouldn't hold up, I fell in love with these unique characters once again.

STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was a real gem, but it had the imperfections of rushed development. Now it seems that Aspyr is willing to do justice by restoring the lost content, making this Nintendo Switch re-release the best way to enjoy a game that keeps all of its many virtues intact.

Knights of the Old Republic is a remake of a classic done right. Despite some issues with clunky gameplay and visuals, the story is entertaining, and the gameplay is engaging. The missions encourage the players to explore every inch of the mining station. Overall, it’s an enjoyable experience with an immersive story.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords is the best RPG to come out since its illustrious prequel, a worthy follow-up to a grand title that has true replay value, gorgeous presentation, and depth that most other games wouldn’t dream of attempting. Buy it, play it, love it.

My final thought on Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic II is an absolutely fantastic game. It’s not as good as the first game in the entry but it is a sequel that would make it into any of the Top 10 lists of best sequels. The Nintendo Switch port is perfect for any Star Wars fan, whether you’re playing on tv or laying in bed on the handheld. You will easily blow away hours of your life and it is certainly worth the money.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, is more of the same in terms of the gameplay but provides an excellent story that is sure to please fans of Star Wars or just fans of sci-fi RPGs in general. If you loved the first game this is an easy recommendation. If you’re new, play the first game and if it clicks jump on this one. At this stage, the game does have bugs that Aspyr is busy working away fixing. Maybe consider waiting for the free DLC which is on the way and will add extra content. But if you need that RPG fix this is still playable. KOTOR 2 is a gem of a game that has found a welcome home on Nintendo Switch. The force is certainly strong with this one.
