Starship Troopers - Terran Command Reviews
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a game with great bones. The foundation of this game was built well, lacking any major bugs and ready for some really great meat to be added. Unfortunately, it feels like the game was released before that step. We can only hope some much needed content will be added with future free updates. Until then, maybe pass on Terran Command unless you’re a major Starship Troopers fan.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command tries to capture the campiness and action-packed thrills of the movie, but it falters just like the invasion of Klendathu.
Between the obvious love for the franchise and the commitment to bringing every bit of that to life through the visuals, the colours used, to everything hammy that is prime Starship Troopers, the game does seem like a miss for a real-time strategy title. It has a good foundation to build on, but the various design choices leave us scratching our heads. Starship Troopers: Terran Command may well be made for the diehard fan, but even so, it might just be a bridge too far to recommend.
To be honest Starship Troopers: Terran Command is not a bad game, but rather just mediocre, joining the list of other titles that drink and breathe this property, but without managing to live up to the name. You realize there could be a good RTS here, but the various issues raised by the review outside prevent it from being something bigger and better (there is no multiplayer either!). If you are a true fan of the saga and all that it encompasses you might find some fun here, otherwise I advise waiting for the next attempt.

The mid-to-late 1990s. And it's here where we bring up the obligatory StarCraft comparison, mainly because the iconic RTS from 1998 drew inspiration from a number of classic sci-fi properties including Starship Troopers.
Starship Troopers - Terran Command is an enjoyable addition to the RTS game genre, especially for franchise fans. The title fails to introduce revolutionary changes that set it apart from its competitors but offers a new sci-fi adventure. Its characters aren't particularly memorable, and its glitches keep it from becoming a masterpiece, but Starship Troopers - Terran Command delivers on its most basic promises. Fans of the best RTS games could receive a pleasant addition to their gaming collections, while movie fans can experience enjoyable callbacks to a beloved franchise.
Although faithful to the 1997 movie, Starship Troopers: Terran Command as an RTS is not consistently enjoyable. Despite some good defensive sequences, its path-finding issues, bland missions, and excessive micromanagement bury some of the fun.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command does a pretty good job of paying homage to the films, at least in terms of design and presentation. As a real time strategy game, it feels defined by limitations and absent features like multiplayer, map editor, skirmishes and the ability to turn off the omnipresent commander. Gameplay can be challenging and fun, but here, too, dumb unit AI and lack of variety inhibit next-level enjoyment. Both fans of the film and squad-based RTS games will find something to appreciate, provided they don’t come to the experience with super-high expectations.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is an engaging RTS game with a sprinkle of nostalgia. It mimics the Starship universe perfectly while capturing the vibes of early 2000s games. The game has striking visuals that are distinct compared to its competitors. It is a little bit challenging for those who are unfamiliar with the RTS genre though. Microing is an essential skill but it is easy to get used to after an hour or two of playing.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is most certainly the game of the film. It gives off the same feel like the film and sticks very close to the source material with the use of bugs, the actions of the empire and the tactics of the Mobile Infantry; all that is an unequivocal positive. However, there are a few issues in gameplay. It feels like an older strategy game than it is, lacking some modern sensibilities, limited game modes, and featuring poor pathfinding. Still, despite these issues, it is a genuinely fun and strategic title that fans of the franchise will thoroughly enjoy, and general strategy fans should also enjoy.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command does a lot of interesting things with the material from the movie franchise, but that creativity does not extend to mission objectives.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is an interesting experience. It doesn't do anything particularly original, or push the RTS genre in any way, but it perfectly mimics the aesthetic and humour of the original film, making for a pleasant, if somewhat frustrating RTS experience.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a competent asymmetrical RTS, but its only substantial mode is a single-player campaign that takes a while to warm up.
If brainless fun is what you are looking for, look no more. Starship Troopers: Terran Command is light on strategic elements but delivers the feeling of being part of the mobile infantry, as made famous by Paul Verhoeven's movie and Robert Heinlein's novel.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command brings combat-focused real-time strategy, offering a lot for little. With few flaws and several virtues, if you are a fan of the franchise it should be a safe purchase.

It may not have the same teeth or originality as the satirical film it's based on, but Starship Troopers: Terran Command is still a whole lot of exciting bug-squashing fun.
As long as expectations are not kept high, TBS lovers should definitely give a chance.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command shows how hard it can be to use a cult status intellectual property and make a good video game out of it. The core mechanics are solid, but the narrative is mediocre, and the presentation fails to impress. There’s fun in finding new ways to kill bugs but there’s not enough variety. The game lacks multiplayer.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a pretty standard RTS game that manages to evoke the feel of Starship Troopers magnificently.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a fairly enjoyable RTS romp that can be pleasantly challenging at time. Just be aware that the game can get quite buggy... however this time they are the good kind.
