The truth is that our opinion would have been very different if we had to release this analysis at the time the game came out, since the problems it presented were so serious that they made it unplayable, so we prefer to wait. However, over the months, the most serious problems that affected the gameplay have been corrected thanks to the good work of the developers. So if you feel like reliving the adventures of Joel and Ellie on your desktop PC, it's a good time to get closer to the game (perhaps taking advantage of Steam's current summer sales and saving a few euros).

Yes, The Last of Us Part I for the PC has somewhat improved a little under two months in. Graphical stutters, framedrops, and other visual artifacts currently exist. If you're able to look past those graphical shortcomings, The Last of Us Part I is a truly exceptional game. Consider waiting just a bit more before jumping into one of the best series from Sony and Naughty Dog to date.

The Last Of Us Part 1 on PC is easily one of the best versions of the beloved title. While not everything hits as it should, so long as you have a good PC to play it on, you'll enjoy the experience.

After its shaky debut, it took a long time to recover with updates. Despite all of this, it's great to experience this amazing story on PC.

In its current state, The Last of Us on PC should only be played by those who do not have access to a PlayStation 5 or can brute force the game with capable hardware.

It's sad to see such a beloved franchise arrive in the state it arrived on PC. Even after several fixes, there are still issues that affect the experience in a negative way, especially for those who have never played before. If possible, play the PlayStation 5 version.

If it’s not obvious already, we do not recommend purchasing The Last of Us Part I on the PC at its current state. What could have been an easy moneymaker has turned into one of the most disastrous PC launches of recent times. The premium price makes the whole thing even more painful. The quality of the PC port is only doing a disservice to the otherwise excellent experience. The only logical thing to do is wait patiently until the glaring issues are fixed and pick the game when a sale comes around.

For now, I advise leaving The Last of Us PC port on your wanted list. I can’t recommend anyone spend their hard-earned cash on a port that might struggle to work, depending on their current hardware. In 6 months, this could be a must-own game from PC, but only time will tell, unfortunately.

One of the most successful games in gaming history turned into a failed PC port full of optimization issues. Until the issues are fixed, it's hard to recommend it except for very high systems.

The Last of Us Part I on PC is still suffering from issues, and while most have been put to bed, it's still worth waiting a little longer.

PC-players have been waiting a long time for The Last of Us, but alas the port is not up to standards. The performance can swing wildly from scene to scene and there are a lot of technical issues. It's a shame, because the gameplay and especially the story is still a masterpiece. We hope Naughty Dog en Iron Galaxy can fix the issues, because a game as The Last of Us Part 1 deserves a good version on PC.

It's downright baffling how Naughty Dog went with the 'release first, fix later' mentality for its most important PC release. Even with the 14GB patch, The Last of Us Part I suffers from poor memory management, leading to a highly compromised experience fueled by stutters, sound issues, unusually long loading times, and more. Sure, underneath those problems, you've got one of the greatest post-apocalyptic survival stories ever told in gaming history, but the hurdles to get there aren't worth it. At Rs. 3,999/ $59.99, you're getting what is arguably PlayStation's first early-access PC port — a tight slap to those who avoided spoilers for nearly a decade. Unless you've got a bleeding-edge PC, don't buy this game in its current state, and pray for the issues to get resolved in time. I mean, if games like Batman: Arkham Knight and Cyberpunk: 2077 run fine and dandy now, I've got faith that The Last of Us Part I will get there eventually.

The quality of the port is highly questionable, but The Last of Us Part I is still just as fun as it ever was and the story is similarly emotional as ever. However, if you have the option, just play the console version.

As things stand right now, you should stay away from The Last of US on PC, for your sanity and your PC's health. Hopefully, a mega patch will fix all the issues but the current version of the game is far inferior compared to even the PS4 version.

The Last of Us Part I, on PC, is a broken game. We are not talking about the qualities of the title itself – which will always remain those of an undisputed masterpiece – but about the way in which a product of this magnitude has been converted to a personal computer. In the face of this, if you feel the need to relive the adventure of Joel and Ellie, our advice is to turn to the PS5 edition. In case you are not happy owners of a Sony console, you would better wait for the ritual patches, which – we are sure, but it will still take time – will fix the Naughty Dog title on PC, as it should be.

The Last of Us Part I could have launched cleaner, to be sure. But my personal experience with the game was far better than some of what I'm seeing reported online. I was experiencing a stellar game for the first time, and it behaved itself for me well enough that I had a great time. If you are worried about your PC handling TLOU, give it a bit of time for the technical issues to be resolved, but rest assured that the game that everyone loves is intact.

Remake of one of the most important games in history, The Last of Us Part I deserved more, much more in its long-awaited arrival on the PC. In its current depressing state, only hardcore enthusiasts of its proposition or gamers with far above average hardware should consider a purchase before further patching; until then, others will be better served with versions already available on other platforms. Here's hoping, then, that both Naughty Dog and Sony learn their lesson: adapting games for the PC is not a simple mission. If platform players are conditioned to wait years and years for a console title, let it at least be served in a palatable way. Otherwise, it will be difficult to classify the result as anything more than indigestible.

Realistically, patches that are coming for the game may continue to make The Last of Us on PC even better. If the patches can improve the playability then the port will become akin to its console predecessors and contemporaries. However, for now, the crashes, visual bugs, texture glitches, and stuttering is not something that can be ignored. Until then, if you’re a first-time The Last of Us player and you’re looking for a seamless and non-buggy experience on PC, it may be better to wait for patches to truly get the best out of this incredible story and game.
