Evil West successfully revitalizes the third-person shooter genre with intense, satisfying combat, even if its level design isn't much to write home about.
Evil West is a must play title for fans of action-adventure games that want a solid narrative with even better combat.
If you don't mind the short campaign and the underwhelming story, Evil West's above average combat and cool graphics make the game a fun ride.
With the combat being the heart and soul of Evil West, it’s a relief that it’s so engaging and enjoyable throughout. It’s just a shame that a better balance hasn’t been struck between performance and visuals, as neither mode is particularly ideal. It’s still very much worth digging into Evil West, however: if you can look past the blurry visuals at 1080p, there’s a lot of fun to be had in this old-fashioned action-adventure – and you can even bring a friend along for the ride.
Evil West presents the essence of what fans of classic shooters want from modern-day games. It has its shortcomings but they won't prevent you from enjoying the smooth transitions between combos and weapons and how powerful you feel with each weapon and skill acquired.

Punch, blast and generally smart-ass your way through an undead horde.
Smashing your way through hordes of vampires in a style reminiscent of Gears of War and Godhand, Evil West is a limb-tearing, frenetically great time. It's a ridiculously over-the-top title with intentionally garish dialogue, balance issues and some questionable decision choices, but when you're mashing a 10-punch combo into a bloodsucker's deservingly battered face, you'll forget all about logic in favour of a rip-roaring good time.
If you’re hungry for a meaty action game to sink your teeth in, you’ll have a hell of a time with Evil West.
Evil West exceded my expectations. Everyone knew it would be an entertaining action game, nothing more, nothing less. But what we got is the start of a whole new series from Flying Wild Hog. A series that I expect to be on the radar of all players in the future, especially if they realize the flaws I mentioned and fixed them as required. I highly recommend all fans of fast-paced action games to try Evil West right away!

Despite a few rough edges in terms of stage design and enemy variety, Evil West is a must-own experience for fans of the character action game genre. With a deep and engaging combat system, a meaty campaign, and a killer sense of style, it’ll leave you glued to your controller until the credits roll. If you’re a fan of Flying Wild Hogs’ brand of gory, in-your-face action, Evil West is a non-stop thrill ride through the freaky frontier that you won’t want to miss.
It may not be my absolute favorite game of 2022, but it certainly is one of the most fun from this year.
Evil West is a phenomenal game and an incredibly fun slaying experience. If you are an older individual, it will have you rekindling your video gaming nostalgia. A great story, followed by old-school hack-and-slash moves and powerful weapons, is what the fans truly deserve. On top of that, the fact that Evil West is cheaper than the average retail price is another reason why you must get this.
In the end, Evil West is one of the examples that reinforce the most important aspect of a videogame: the fun of playing. In this case, fighting against supernatural monsters in a beautiful and challenging western setting. Of course, a more developed story that fit well with the combats would have been great, as well as having more variety to the missions. Even so, this is a a release full of action and big qualities for fans of the genre.

Exploration is a must. While the game is fairly linear, paths that seem out of place usually suggest a hidden item. Each area has a certain number of collectibles to be found such as chests, lore items, and money. It’s the chests and money that are most important. Money found in a chest, laying around, or by leveling up, is used to upgrade your weapons, as mentioned earlier.
Evil West is unapologetically a game about gruff gunslingers ripping through gross nightmare monsters and that is exactly why I like playing games.
Evil West is a silly slaughter-fest that has gameplay I instantly got into and enjoyed.
Half teslapunk western, half vampire slasher: A very solid, challenging and fun action game where the variety of skills is a must. It leaves a pleasant mouth feeling even when it declines a bit in the final part.

Evil West offers an unconventional combination of Wild West and vampire themes and does it ideally in every way. The game provides an enjoyable combat system combining close and ranged combat. It's a ride you'll enjoy from start to finish, and a similar pace would be the envy of many AAA titles.

Evil West is a throwback to the classic melee brawlers that includes a hysterical storyline, great dialogue and a variety in combat similar to God/Gears of War. A game that does everything it does do well and uses its strengths to set itself apart.
