FIFA 23 is perfectly serviceable - the gluttony of FIFA fans won't find much to complain about. Truth be told, the formula is so one-dimensional that it is hard to get wrong after iterating on the same product year after year. Subtle tweaks to gameplay do mix things up, but not enough has been done to refresh the modes on offer. Either EA is out of ideas, or they are storing them up for the next game in their new franchise. Anyone looking for a football game in 2023, though, should certainly stick with the tried and tested FIFA.

FIFA 23 signs off on EA and FIFA's partnership with another solid entry that brings the gameplay experience closer to the real thing, but it's once again sullied by its Ultimate Team monetisation.

For football purists, it’s overall a great experience considering the general flow of the game, while others looking for that specific arcade feel might not be as impressed.

The game of football in FIFA 23 is great, but everything else misses the mark.

Despite quite a lot of changes, FIFA23 somehow feels much the same to its previous title. However, As the final title that uses the name of FIFA, the game seems like a stepping stone, preparing for the next bright future. By the way, training center for those who are not used to this genre was quite impressive.

So is it worth it this year? That's a firm "yes". The Hypermotion 2 engine lives up to it's hype and delivers what it probably the best simulation of football I've seen. You have a variety of game modes to find your favorites with some like Volta that deliberately speed up the pace that the engine tends to slow down in Career. You also have the widest variety of stars to choose from featuring men's and women's teams as well as all the licenses and real player likenesses you can hope for. However, Career mode needs some love. And by love I don't mean more meaningless transfer cutscenes. I mean depth beyond just the UK pyramid: add some real lower division teams across leagues and stop neglecting everything outside of Europe.

It's a shame that the only football title available now is just a copy of the previous one with a few changes.

The sensationalism in FIFA 23 did not stop at it being the last part of the FIFA series only, but spread to include all of its details, making it the best conclusion of this legacy title

FIFA 23 further refines its formula with new features leading to a more reasoned game and increased freedom for players. A top-notch title, that every fan should consider for their collection.

But keeping things on the pitch, FIFA 23 is still utterly engrossing, wildly frustrating, uncannily realistic and very silly. It’s endlessly playable but, just like real football, the search for the perfect blueprint goes on.

FIFA 23 is full of bugs from the past. However, all the bad things are balanced by this year's novelties. EA is ending its brand with pride, and we are all curious about the new EA Sports FC.

FIFA 23 is one of those entries in this series that, in fact, improves several aspects and meets some criticisms or requests from fans. The career mode is more customizable than ever and introduces some important additions, and the expansion of women's football modes is a great step forward for the game. What's more, the fact that we now have a really fun set-piece system and that the new animations make every game moment more realistic and exciting, deserve all the praise. I just can't say that this title enters the top of the best simulators for the insistence of errors and unresolved problems, and for the fact that its most popular mode continues to be incredibly unbalanced and uncontrolled. But if you are fans of the king's sport, you have one of the most solid offerings of recent years here, which is presented as a great goal at the end of the curtain.

FIFA 23 welcomes the future of football gaming with Hypermotion2. With the considerable improvements made, this is undoubtedly one of the most authentic football games ever. It’s sad to see a historic franchise come to a close, but FIFA 23 capped off a great ending to what has been an inconsistent era.

At its core, FIFA 23 is a solid game that offers a whole lot to experience. Sure, some passes won’t go where you expect them to and yes, too many gameplay tweaks will inevitably unbalance things from time to time. Yet you’ll have plenty of opportunity to find the balance of your choosing—because at the end of the day, finding that perfect balance is a frivolous exercise. So experience it however you like doing so. Get out of it whatever you wish to get out of it, and look forward to what’s next.

FIFA 23 delivers the most complete and most comprehensive Experience Possible. If it wasn't for some issues regarding Microtransanctions, We could call FIFA 23 an almost Flawless Football Game.

There is less to dislike with FIFA 23 than there was with last year’s game, but I also wasn’t blown away with the advancements in several features such as career/franchise mode or the visuals. While it’s technically a better game than FIFA 22, it may not seem like it to those who don’t spend most of their time in FUT or VOLTA. Color me satisfied, but not overwhelmed.

In the last title with the famous name, EA Sports FIFA 23 brought good news and kept its greatest qualities. For example, the FUT mode is still addictive, the gameplay now has a better balance between cadence and speed, and we have many ways to play football. There are still issues, such as visually and mechanically, but they don't compromise the overall experience. It remains to be in the crowd so that the next title continues to reinforce and improve the squad and, who knows, be considered a true champion.

If 'FIFA 23' is the last image that we will take from a mythical saga that has reigned over the video game industry for more than 30 years, there is nothing more just and poetic than closing its "last dance" in style with a work that exceeds all expectations and sets a new standard for how the titles of the ninth generation of consoles should look, feel and play.

FIFA 23 says goodbye to the name in its best form in recent years. It's not brilliant, but it is uncomplicatedly the best soccer game you will find this year in all aspects: gameplay, graphics, game modes, and above all fun.
