Asterigos: Curse of the Stars doesn’t elevate the Action RPG genre that’s been birthed from the Souls franchise to new new heights, but for what it does, it does well. Maybe it’s not be the most challenging game amongst its peers but it does prove that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Asterigos: Curse of the stars: is a Souls-lite title that is fun, rewarding, and challenging. Furthermore, it has a fascinating story, and interesting characters, and is reasonably long. What's more, the atmospheric audio and fantastic environments make for a wonderful and fulfilling experience.
Asterigos has a great world design and a combat system that is similar to the Souls series, while being faster and more action-oriented. It's just the exploration elements that let the game down, as the city of Aphes can sometimes feel a little too empty for its own good, and its residents a little too verbose. Those who don't mind backtracking and skipping dialogue should be able to see through the muddy parts and enjoy Asterigos' finer points.
A strong combat system that doesn’t punish players too harshly makes Asterigos: Curse of the Stars refreshing and approachable.
Asterigos is a title that will generously offer simple, pure fun, and an enjoyable adventure to anyone who isn't looking forward to playing the next Souls and keeps expectations low enough.

Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is a good action/adventure game that focuses on a diversified combat and narrative to bring a pleasant experience to the player. There are a few opportunities of improvement, such as the simplistic textures (which also tend to become repetitive) or the lack of guidance features in the map or cenarios (which tend to difficultate our navigation to the objective). Still, in a global context, these are aspects that don't spoil the experience much and we recommended our readers to give the irreverent Hilda a chance!

Asterigos: Curse of the Stars offers an enjoyable formula with exploration and combat that'll keep you hooked as you forge your way ahead. With that in mind, it could certainly use a clearer sense of direction even if it was implemented via an accessibility option.
Acme Gamestudio and tinyBuild’s Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is a solid adventure. Not simply following the standard Soulslike formula, they’ve gone and made it their own and have given us both the mysteries of the past as well as a solid journey in the present.
Asterigos: Curse of the Stars is a game composed of two different genres and not fully committing to either. Doing so makes it not reach the potential I think the game could have had by sticking to simply one. Still, with fun combat and an explorative world, it is a solid experience. One that many gamers will be satisfied with but forget after the holiday season.
Though my initial expectation was modest, I admit Asterigos: Curse of the Stars surprised me a lot. The action RPG genre is one of the most popular in recent times but the game managed to have its own personality. Combat is fun, the visual style is enchanting and the adventure thrilling. As an indie, the production ended up lacking in a few areas but nothing that compromises the package as a whole. In fact, the variety of resources to deal with battles is just as good as any other [good action RPG] games. If you're a fan of the Souls genre, this is a good option for your library; if you aren't, it is still a great entrypoint into a challenging yet equally rewarding world.

A decently fun action-RPG with a lot of exploration, combat and text.
But I think that on balance, the whole thing works out to the game’s favor. This is definitely a title made with a lot of love and attention to detail, and while it’s hardly a flawless production, I think it’s worth checking out for people who sit on either side of the fence. If you’ve always wanted to love a Soulslike title but never quite got there, this might help get you over the hump; if you love them but don’t mind something being a bit more Souls-lite, this will delight you. It’s not going to make it on to my short list of worthy Game of the Year contenders, but it’s a solid outing all around, and that’s not nothing.
At its core, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars pretty much accomplishes what it sets out to do, which is to deliver an indie Soulslike experience that does things differently, and for the better in most cases. The world is great to marvel at and explore, the combat system is utterly entertaining with room for experimentation, and all of the systems are seemingly designed to make the players’ lives more convenient but not easier. As a debut project, this game is definitely a great start, and I would be extremely excited to see more from Acme Gamestudio in the future.
Overall, Asterigos: Curse of the Stars failed to really stand out above other games in the RPG action-adventure space for me. While the combat and leveling systems felt accommodating for both casual and tenured players of this genre, the lackluster environments and disengaging character interactions failed to hold my attention for any period of time. This game would, in my opinion, appeal to someone who is looking for a lighter adventure title centered more on the gameplay rather than the narrative.

Asterigos: Curse of the Stars uses the Souls template in a unique way that is more open to everyone. Not everything is good but my respect for this new developer is very high. At times the world is beautiful and the battles are also memorable, finding your own fighting style is also a fun activity and quite inspiring too.
