In the end, PGA Tour 2K23 retains the series' reputation of being a solid golf game despite some notable issues that don't affect the gameplay too harshly. The aim for a realistic golf simulator is still present, but things like swing forgiveness and a new control method opens things up for more players of a lower skill level to jump in and have fun. With those solid modes, PGA Tour 2K23 has some real legs even when the presentation isn't mind-blowing. It'll be interesting to see how it and future iterations will stack up once EA gets back into the sport. Until then, golf fans will be well served with this title.

At its core, PGA Tour 2K23 is the excellent golf game I’ve been missing in recent years. A new three-click swing system opens the game up for players who didn’t care for the analog swinging of old. I’ll be playing way too many hours of this one in the months to come, even if the series could still use some work on its presentation and a bit more variety.

While some of the background graphics didn’t appear to be top-notch at times, the overall gameplay and welcomeness of PGA Tour 2K23 was an amazing experience.

Golf lovers will surely enjoy PGA Tour 2K23, despite some technical flaws that make the game improvable on PS5.

PGA Tour 2K23 is an excellent golfing simulation. The environmental visuals are pretty, even if the character models feel a bit on the stiff side. The career mode was a lot of fun, with entertaining progression that helps you to feel as though your golfer is genuinely improving. The rivalries are a cool idea, but I’d like to see a bit more narrative baked in here like we’ve seen in the NBA 2K series. I’m a big fan of the new 3-Click Swing, even if I think the prior analog method feels more organic – but no one should be upset over having more options and accessibility. PGA Tour 2K23 is the best golf game on the market, though there is room for continued growth.

PGA Tour 2K23 has done a good job of being both the most realistic game on the market and the newbie friendly golf game. This game is exactly the meeting point of beginners and golf fans.

Alternatively, players might be drawn in by the challenge, the unwillingness to be bettered by a videogame. And, moreover, there are lots of difficulty/accessibility settings, though the game will still require your focus. Like golf itself, PGA Tour 2K23 is deeply challenging and requires a great deal of patience; like every good golf videogame, it's a technically competent recreation that captures the spirit of the real thing.

Though the game lacks a lot of visual and presentational flare that 2K clearly does with its other sports games, PGA Tour 2K23 challenges you to use imagination to get up and down its gorgeous golf courses.

PGA Tour 2K23 is unfortunately just another iteration and not the evolution I was hoping it would be. Most of the changes to MyCareer seem to be a step back or even sideways, to where I was hoping it would go. The addition of extra pros and courses is fantastic, but still seems lacking compared to 2K’s other sports games. There is still a ton of growth to be had for this golf series, but if you still have 2K21, there isn’t really a need to upgrade unless you really want to play as a professional player and not just your career player.

PGA Tour 2K23 convincingly delivers thanks to a revamped swing mechanic and improvements to the MyCareer mode, even if the impact of microtransactions is still heavy. It's nice to be able to use the real pros again, but the dearth of new courses is a bit disappointing. Still, it remains a recommended title for lovers of golf titles, both amateur and experienced ones.

Golf is back and fans of the sport will be thrilled with this new entry in the PGA Tour family. However other general sports fans will feel left out due to the ellitist vibe this game produces.

PGA Tour 2K23 is a good improvement over its last iteration, making things more accessible with the 3-Click system and the Topgolf mode. There's still areas for improvement, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

PGA Tour 2K23 is a perfectly fine golf sim that manages to neither impress nor disappoint. It's unlikely that you'll hate it, but it's likely that you'll be left wanting more out of it. If you've played a golf sim in the last decade this one will feel very familiar to you, for better or worse.

Some fundamental issues in the swing mechanics mean that PGA Tour 2K23 ends up in the light rough to the side of the fairway. Hopefully, HB Studios can rescue the hole with a recovery shot to the fairway and time will tell if they're able to make par.‍

PGA Tour 2K23 will fill the need for anyone craving a golf game, but it won't push the boundaries of the sport or of sports games any further than its competitors already have.

If the gameplay is as complete as ever, the presence of the official licenses or the successful integration of the course creator, PGA Tour 2K23 remains very similar to the last opus. The HB Studios team has always had good ideas to offer new features, but I think that there are too few of them this time. Moreover, apart from the career mode, the remaining game modes are quite anecdotal. The presence of microtransactions that improve our character's skills totally unbalances the online matches. If you are looking for a complete golf experience, the title remains the reference in the field. However, if you already have the 2021 edition, there may be no need to pay for it.

Despite some of my frustrations with how boring PGA Tour 2K23 can feel, that also just feels like golf in a nutshell. Golf is an old game with very little innovation, so watching the most popular golf game franchise follow that same path makes sense. As a golf simulator, PGA Tour 2K23 is as good as it gets, but for players who aren’t into the extremely accurate golf representation it’s going to always feel a bit boring.

PGA Tour 2K23 is a decent golf game, and it is the route to go if you didn’t play 2K21. 2K23’s gameplay doesn’t have any glaring problems, and it offers enough of a challenge that makes attaining a low score that much more satisfying. Its biggest issues are with what PGA Tour 2K23 does not offer.

PGA Tour 2K23 offers a good gameplay experience but suffers from a negative factor generated by its sports games siblings, [which are] more attractive and originally more enticing. Its content can be considered shallow, despite the interesting field creation mode. It's a title recommended only for fans of the sport.
