Dead Space (2023) Reviews
Dead Space Remake succeeded in striking the perfect balance, so please don't lose that balance and hope it continues for years to come. That's what gamers really want.

Dead Space was a franchise that many thought long dead. Motive has revitalized the flesh around the series and provided a rebirth that not a lot of studios have been able to replicate.
This remake of 2008's urgent sci-fi horror from Visceral Games resists big changes in favour of some laser-focused improvements
Dead Space rigorously reanimates gaming's best sci-fi horror game. It's clear EA Motive looked at the original title both through the lens of adoring fans as well as talented developers. They keep what worked, morph what didn't, and unlike the game's protagonist, cut off almost nothing. The USG Ishimura has never been more immersive. Only minor missteps keep it from perfection, but not from being an absolutely stunning makeover, and a must-play experience.
This version and reworking of Dead Space fixes all issues with the original, adds new content of substance, and quality of life improvements all-around. I don’t often replay games, but I’m eager to start my run in New Game+ on a harder difficulty already. Knowing that this was remade from the ground-up still manages to trick the brain into thinking this is how it used to look back in 2008, but couldn’t be more wrong. This is one of the best survival horror games ever, and sits in the pantheon of great remakes like Resident Evil 2. I hope Motive continue to be the caretakers of the Dead Space estate, as they possess the blueprint for what a remake should be. Dead Space is a horror classic for a new generation, and it’s better than ever.
Dead Space has died once. But nothing stays dead on USG Ishimura. Some things will always come back, and scarier than ever.

The remake of Dead Space improves the action horror classic from 2008 in a lot of ways without negatively impacting any of the good parts.

Whatever impact Dead Space had when it came out in 2008, there is no doubt that it will have a similar effect for new players in 2023. A game could be faithful and improved so much at the same time.

The Dead Space remake successfully revives a beloved survival horror franchise with gloriously gory aplomb. Nothing that made the original so good has been compromised, even with all the new additions. Bring on Dead Space 2!
The Dead Space remake fixes a lot of the 2008 original's problems, but leaves a couple of big ones right where they were.
This is Dead Space at its best! Dead Space Remake is one of the best in class. Motive took everything that made the original game succesful, improved on it, and even added much needed changes. It's a must play title whether you've already played the original, or exploring the Ishimura for the first time.

It's not the first good remake out there, but EA Motive's work on Dead Space is yet another example of how excellently well executed remakes can be.

When the horror classic Dead Space makes a comeback in the form of a remake, the adventure feels both familiar and new. The giant spaceship Ishimura is as delightfully unwelcoming as it used to be, as are the heavy, meaty battles. Although the horror level is uneven and some moments outdated, Dead Space Remake is an excellent return visit that has improved on just the right points.

15 years later, we have more compelling protagonists to choose from, and even more interesting space zombies, like those in Dead Space creator Glen Schofield’s The Callisto Protocol, which is also mired by repetitive bosses, but at least looks and sounds incredible. The Dead Space remake accomplishes what it set out to do, it makes an old game compatible for modern consoles. But that’s all it does. 2008’s lightning stays in its bottle.
Dead Space manages to completely capture what made the original game so good while updating it for the times. As Isaac Clarke exploring the Ishimura is as terrifying as ever with Necromorphs popping out of the wall, but with enhanced visuals and audio are elevated to a new level. The added depth to Isaac's character are a welcomed addition, though his reaction to certain conversations does leave a bit to be desired.
The Dead Space Remake has no flaws for me. It took one of my favorite franchises and reinvented it perfectly. It is stunning to look at, and every single change or addition they made works. This remake is a masterpiece and I hope that this is the rebirth that the Dead Space franchise deserves.
Even when I know what’s coming, I can’t help but be drawn into the atmospheric tension that had me adore the horror classic of 2008. Dead Space is a prime example of how a remake should be done and unfortunately for you, your neighbours will hear you scream.
The Dead Space remake brings to life everything we loved about the original game. You will still be absorbed by the atmosphere and the fight against the Necromorphs. Now also with some improvements and new content.

Dead Space Remake takes us back to deep space at the hands of Isaac Clarke, who will have to survive various hostile organisms aboard the USG Ishimura spaceship. Dead Space Remake does not disappoint, surpassing the original with a major facelift, both in its spectacular audiovisual section and in the playable one. It has interesting additions that give dynamism to the adventure making it very fun to play, all without losing that special essence that made our hair stand on end 15 years ago. With a return to the origins of the survival horror genre from before, it will not leave indifferent neither those who already played it in its day, nor those who try it for the first time. An essential title for all fans of horror and science fiction that can easily take us 15 hours, yes, we insist, it is not suitable for the faint of heart!
